There have been very few that could speak as eloquently as Ronald Reagan.
Yes.
I'm a Democrat , but I've said it before and I'll say it again I always liked and respected Ronald Reagan.
Harry Truman is my third favorite President. FDR and IKE are my favorites.
“You like Ike, I like Ike, everybody likes Ike.”
If you mean personal feelings then sure but I have to question the exclusion of Lincoln.
I’m a republican. I love Harry Truman. He governed for the people and didn’t care about the polls. A simple man of honor and integrity.
@@lucabrazi3067Well said I am a Republican as well and have a lot of respect for him he was a very honorable man never afraid to stand up for what he believed whether it was popular or not.
I'm so glad that President Reagan, another son of the mid west, mentioned that President Harry S. Truman was an active duty, front line soldier during WW1 in France. Right opposite the enemies front line !! Many people today, who are used to politicians who have never served in the armed forces of our country, don't know or care that Harry S. Truman went into the armed forces of this, our country, at age 35. And served, with honor !
I wonder what a debate between president Reagan and the Ronald Reagan who spoke in favor of Truman in 1948, (it's on You-Tube), would have been like.
Reagan used to be democrat...
Ronald Reagan campaigned for President Truman in 1948
Yes, that's true. He was president of the Screen Actors Guild at the time as well as a democrat.
Salutes to Truman and Regan
Brilliant tribute to a really great President. When he quoted Truman in saying “I tell the truth and they think I’m giving them hell” it summarises the essence of Harry Truman. No US President ever had a tougher in tray or dealt with it more effectively.
Wonderful remarks from one great former President about another
A class act, we miss this type of leadership
Harry Truman the last President who never attended college.
Reagan and Truman... The two best presidents of the 20th century...
Truman was a cold war liberal.Reagan was a liberal turned movement conservative.
I DON'T THINK REAGAN WAS BEST PRESIDENT OF THE 20TH CENTURY..FDR WAS BEST PRESIDENT OF 20th century.TEDDY ROOSEVEL WAS BETTER THAN REAGAN.REAGAN WAS OVERRATED.
truman was a patriot a honest man and had integraty.a tough and like Ronald Reagan consequential president in American history. But Truman remained a controversial president.
Reagan was a great communicator and a consequential president in American history. The election of Reagan put the modern American movement conservatives into the American political power.
Truman may have been socially liberal to some degree, he certainly was not a progressive. He did not want to transform our country into a soviet style socialist “utopia”. As Reagan said, he was a patriot and loved his country. Nuff said.
His policies weren't my cup of tea but I respect him
My favorite Republican President talking about my favorite Democrat President.
You actually think he was a Republican? Lmao
@@MichaelL502 he was actually a democrat, till he saw the light and the political errors of his ways.
@@MichaelL502 Ronald Reagan was a traditional New Deal liberal Democrat before 1950s. After 1950s, Ronald Reagan gradually became a modern movement conservative Republican.
Ronald Reagan would be disgusted with what has become of the Republican party today. Reagan is quoted as having referred to Donald Trump as a "Smarmy character".
The 'great communicator' Ronnie talking about 'give em hell' Harry. Two of the best presidents our country had!
Two classy men right there
Harry S Truman... THE BEST PRESIDENT EVER !
It want be that way no more. Too divided.
He was the last President without a college degree!
True. But he had a lot of horse sense.
Reagan acted the part of a down home president. Truman was a down home President to his Core!
President Reagan said that freedoms is the must in America 🇺🇸 without room of negotiations, that means freedoms are our country America’s recognitions and principles and laws to preserve, protect and defend freedoms, entrepreneurship spirit and equality of opportunities principles as the liberty 🗽 status represents for. I guess America’s kindness nature toward Americans of all must make sure Americans of all will be able to enjoy our freedoms, entrepreneurship spirit and equality of opportunities principles and societies. RIP President Reagan and President Bush and their kindness nature toward us Americans of all, because if we lose our liberty 🗽 privileges, we will be too late to regret and no place to escape. I still remember President Reagan said that too. Thanks for their efforts for us to be able to continue to enjoy liberty 🗽 privileges and RIP.
Reagan could be a decent human being. Some thing modern a Republicans can learn from.
Care to give specific examples,
@@matthewnikitas8905 During the 1980s there was a guy named David Duke who an Neo Nazi and latter became a leader of the Klu Klux Klan. He went for a suit and tie image. He ran as a Republican for Congress in Louisiana. Reagan flew down there and told people to vote for the Democrat. Something the GOP wouldn't do today. They welcome such people. Desperate for votes today because of all the ones that died of Covid.
My 2nd least favorite president speaking of my favorite president. At least Reagan had the presence of character to speak well of people.
Unlike the grandpa in chief, uncle Joe.
@@Mark-yy2py definitely better than his predecessor the Coward in Chief who couldn’t follow the simplest protocol.
@@jameshutchins8965 protocol set by whom? Bureaucrats, media, unions, etc?
@@Mark-yy2py are you that uninformed to not know you treat your allies with respect especially when in their country. You do not treat others like marketable assets to buy or sell. You do not kowtow to dictators and autocrats. In other words as president of the United States you show respect and get respect through diplomatic not schoolyard bully tactics. Trump was and still is our worst example of a presidential person. His lack of grace in losing the election and carrying on as he has is another indication of a narcissistic self centered egotistical childlike person.
@@jameshutchins8965 we can agree to disagree. If more people took this approach, we would not be in the mess we are now. Remember, FDR called the great mass murderer Stalin “Uncle Joe”....so, there is plenty to go around on both sides.
