The Doolittle Raid on Tokyo was such a pivotal point in the war in the Pacific it can't be measured. It is the reason the Battle of Midway took place and the Japanese Navy was never the same after losing those 4 carries that day. Thanks to our code breakers and Halsey getting the shingles or what ever that rash was, a Admiral who played it differently and maybe just pure luck but the dive bombers had a golden opportunity and took advantage of it. This was at the expense of many a brave man in the torpedo planes. The greatest generation, you will get no argument from me, what the men and women did in that time is beyond my ability to express. My Mom and Dad born 1919 and 1917 was part of it, I was a accident that happened along in 1957. My values that were instilled came from them and I'm very happy to say they did. God bless Jimmy Doolittle, his Raiders and all the Greatest Generation, we owe you more than we will ever know....

Those were good times weren't they? Back when being a hero meant laying your life on the line for your country and/or community. Not deciding one day that you're a woman trapped in a man's body.

Yep; Doolittle and his Raiders are legendary. Flying into the teeth of the Japanese Empire knowing you're not going to be flying back takes a special kind of dedication to one's country.

One of my heroes. . .As a docent for the National Air and Space Museum, I have the honor of describing his accomplishments to our guests! I introduce him as the Forrest Gump of Aviation: Gump met everyone from Elvis to President Nixon; Doolittle was there from the Golden Age to the Space Age! Also: His name didn't do him justice, he didn't "Doolittle", he DIDALOT (sic) for aviation!

Indeed the nation owes him for his great service and contributions. He personally led the Doolittle Raiders into the heart of Japan and famously tie one of the Japanese medals given to him years before, to a bomb that is to be dropped onto Japanese territory. Great man, salute to the General.

God Bless the ANZAC forces and your great dedication as allies to the US. I only hope and pray that we, as a group, can measure up in some way to this unsurpassable generation. God bless America and God bless Ukraine.

Well, at least none of them think their running mate is suddenly president. 3 (4?) times by my count so far. Not even coronation day yet. Good stuff. Best of luck to us all. Those dreams of one-party state rule hopefully bear fruit asap. Utopia on its way!
*this was likely unfair & out of left-field. And while I bear no I'll-will, it's been really tiring witnessing such bile for 5-years. Especially when I was happy to have come across something that might be short & interesting, yet there it was yet again...Deluded Obsession.
Even then, it's never "I like this guy because X". Only ever "I don't like that guy". Followed by something which, at maximum, I'd be forced to courtesy laugh at. And then only because my wife forced me to dinner with her "cool work friend".
Punchline: no, I didn't vote for the devil. But guess what...you, me, and everyone else will never have a man who legitimately cared about the ENTIRE country that much again. (but I know, I know, he was an "ist". Sure he was, now please feel free to fill in your preferred prefix).
