SO crucial to understanding the story that is Rens' life. I dealt and still deal with something very similar, over 15 yrs now. The visceral pain you experience while trying just to function and then being told that your own brain is making you sick and feel pain when you KNOW something is severely wrong. You can't explain that type of hopelessness. And when you finally end up on the brink of death, hospitalized and at least some issues are validated, you WOULD think it would heal some parts of it. But it doesn't. It leaves you with issues you didn't know you could have; like being in a state of genuine hyperventilation, anger, and fear-then suddenly collecting yourself as soon as a doctor comes in because you don't want to seem crazy. There are so many layers to what his music is and means, but I think the important thing is he is allowing alot of us to heal and process things we didn't know how to give words too.
I hope that you are feeling better. As you say, Ren operates on many levels and there is no doubt he had helped many people as well as amazing and entertaining them (you and I included) Keep up the fight and we will look forward to our Rentertainment Rentertanement

Great reaction Nick, this is the thing about Ren's music - super talented, relatable and absolutely 100% REAL - so many of us relate to this and it is speaking very much directly in one way or another to us. He has worked his absolute ass off since his early teens from what I can tell but am so happy to have found his music these past few weeks. I live in the UK and it was through a reactor channel that I found him and very happy that he has given love and direct response to those sharing and appreciating his music. I have PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, depression and I was in therapy for 8 years from 2009-2017. I was 15 when I started and I wasnt diagnosed with ADHD until I was in my 20s. I feel like a HUGE cause of my depression and anxiety stems from my ADHD so I can relate to his music so much. This is why none of the regular anti anxiety/depressant medications worked for me. His ability to express the frustration at the professionals that are supoosed to help you but you feel like they're just ticking boxes and palming you off with the easiest thing to treat. I do have a great team of mental health doctors now and Im on my way being qualified in an industry I adore but it hasnt been an easy thing to achieve.
I can really relate to the way he sits there and responds so politely to her, while at the same time he is losing it on the inside. That was exactly how I reacted, instead of saying how I really felt. It was partly because I was frightened of letting go of what little control I had over myself, and partly because I had lost confidence in anyone’s ability to help me.
honestly respect you for putting your story out there, the problem with mental illness its even people with the exact same thing react very differently to medication and different things work and dont work, its so complicated and a nightmare to get through

It was actually a blessing, his sickness because the label that he had been signed to dropped him because of that showing him their true colors and I don't think he'll be signing any labels anytime soon anymore.
Great reaction (but the video and audio were out of synch with each other). Ren became seriously ill in 2010 but his condition was misdiagnosed for 6 or 7 years. The medications just made him worse, to the point that he often had to spend up to 23 hours a day in bed. Eventually he was correctly diagnosed with Lyme Disease in 2016 and had stem cell transplants which improved his health. However, the years of incorrect treatments have left him with a badly damaged immune system and some brain damage. He is currently getting specialist treatment in Canada where he will be for at least 6 months. Happy Birthday Ren !
I feel like a very protective big sister when it comes to ren and his music and even more so his absolute genius and talent.. music needs to make me feel and ren is the master and what makes it is because its real his music is so personal and makes people feel less alone he's not just writing things that will not offend but slso it's too real to befor shock factor I relate so.much ro his music and inthink he will bring hope to so many young people and he is using the Internet which can be negative for.our young as a voice of positivity saying that its ok to feel ahit and I feel like he is a positive influence ♥️
This refers back to when his Lyme's Disease was misdiagnosed, for years, and they thought it was mainly psychosomatic. Meanwhile, his body and brain were being ravaged. Although better than he was, there's still no cure and he's on heavy medication and constant range of intrusive treatment and he still has the damage to his body and brain damage caused by the misdiagnosis. He's still severely limited in what he can do. He's currently undergoing experimental treatments in Canada and there's some hope that his body will recover a little more. However, he still has near constant pain, tires really easily, has an ultra restricted diet etc but at least he's no longer bedridden and the psychosis has receded.

Ren writes his own lyrics, does his own beats, is a multi instrumentalist, rapper and singer and produces his own stuff. He makes his own videos, alongside a couple of old friends and, of course, he perform his own compositions, brilliantly. :)
That was the diagnosis he was given.... but it should have been Lyme Disease (a bacterial infection from a tick bite)... undiagnosed his health collapsed - both physical and mental, and his mental health treatment caused complications... Took years to get the correct differential diagnosis.

Turns out I have ADHD. I’ve only been on meds for that now and it turns out that’s all I need. Those lost years were hell.

I don't know how you pour a thing. I hated that route with the cognitive therapy b*******, but it didn't work at all. I've been in and out of therapy since I was in my 20s, I'm nearing my 50s now. It took me 5 years to get the correct medicines, and 20 years later, pretty much. They're telling me that I need to get off those meds. They might kill me, no, you want me off the meds because they're cheap and you want to put me on expensive meds.
Drs just feed u meds cos a lot of them are tired with chemists (not all) the more script’s given the more money they get. My kidneys failed cos of too much meds & my old dr was banned.
