    Ren was mis-diagnosed for almost a decade. He was treated with drugs for mental health issues and of course the medications didn't work because he had Lyme's disease. Once he had a diagnosis he had stem cell treatment which gave him a layer of relief but the long term Lyme's damaged his brain so he is now in Canada receiving another set of treatments to try and find another level of better. He may never find full physical healing but I can't imagine the strength it took to agree to painful treatments again after he'd finally found a degree of relief.

    Lyme is a shit show, especially when it’s misdiagnosed for so long, which is what happened in Ren’s case (my understanding is that he has late stage Lyme). It took quite a bit of fighting, research to get doctors to look for the underlying cause instead of just treating random symptoms. All that was made worse due to a number of other medical issues going on. Had a similar issue when my immune system decided my thyroid was hostile, right after a unrelated surgery, months of fighting while trying to cope.
    Really loving Ren’s work as I go through his catalog.

      Luke’s disease can be one of the most difficult to detect because it mimics the symptoms of multiple other serious diseases.
      What complicates this problem even further often the victims have no idea that they’ve been bitten by a tick, there are zero symptoms and the disease is hidden in the body for years ( they sometimes suspect decades) before it manifests itself.

    • @supertuscans9512

    Great reaction. "Sick Boi" is almost another chapter to "Hi Ren." As mentioned above, his latest release, “Bittersweet Symphony (The Verve retake),” is another masterful work. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which lead him to experience psychosis. Hence his anger. He was essentially told that it was all in his head and he was given drugs that did not nothing to cure his illness, and only added to the misery because of the side-effects of psychotropics.
    It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure.
    Ren is currently in Canada for more treatments, including surgeries, and will have to be there for at least six months (Summer of 2023). Ren's Canadian doctor discovered that Ren also developed a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder, which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, adrenals, as well as his bones/joints.

    I'm obviously not totally sure but I took the low mix on vocals early as everything going on in his mind overwhelming the pointless psychiatrist interaction so it was almost like the conversation was muted

    • @FlawdTV
      @FlawdTV  Рік тому

      A bunch of comments are saying it but I'm not convinced of it. Did he say this himself somewhere? If it is the reason, I don't agree with his decision to do it. Vocals should be loud enough to be understood because that's what music is. you can get creative with different effects to convey something like that. Low volume vocals is a bad choice imo.

    • @jkoll42
      @jkoll42 Рік тому

      @@FlawdTV Yeah I have no clue if he said it anywhere just what I felt listening to it and his other stuff but I just know personally dealing with therapists when you are in the middle of things everything they say can sound muted and he's been in the thick of things. My reason for saying that is he's had extremely good mixing in live one takes and specifically plays into the acoustics of spaces so I just don't feel like it was a screw up. I could be wrong though - I'm not a music producer. Like when the therapist is doing the whole "in and out" the treble notes are extremely accentuated and it has to be deliberate. I'm in no way saying this was correct normalized mixing for a mainstream track but for what he does with his music everything seems to convey something. Like in the whole Jenny x Screech trilogy and really his whole catalog. You should link his gofundme in the description to help with his treatment!

I've just gone through six years of tests & mistrust to prove I have Psoriatic Arthritis, another autoimmune disorder. As well as my mental issues falling in to place with an Autistim diagnosis.

    Hi Just saw you on Adam cast. I hope you read this and pass it onto your wife. This is really important but as someone who had three miscarriages after not being on the pill for years I found out that I was supposed to be on progesterone. It helps the baby stick to the uterus. Unfortunately the pill has progesterone in it. I should’ve never stopped taking the pill years before. It would’ve kept my uterus healthy. I eventually was able to have a daughter and now she has the same problem. Rather than the pill she has chosen to take progesterone alone because the estrogen in the pill gave her heart palpitations. Good luck to you and I hope you read this!! 🙏🙏🙏

    I'm not sure if y'all knew his story. But basically Ren had gotten sick and he went to the doctor and they couldn't find anything wrong with him. As he continued to get worse and worse over time suffering with a lot of pain anxiety different things like that because he couldn't figure out what was wrong with him they were telling him that it was all in his head. So they started giving him anti-anxiety medications antipsychotic medications and things like that because they thought it was in his head. After six or seven years they finally discovered that he actually had Lyme disease and by then all this time had passed so his physical symptoms mental system symptoms have gotten way worse while also battling all the side effects from taking all these psychotic drugs that they were giving him. So that is sort of what he means by them kept doing pills at him and all the side effects and everything like that when he didn't actually need any of them

      Nah. I don't believe that. You can get that point across with effects. Some ppl mix their vocals lower and some ppl mix it louder.

      @@FlawdTV I friendly disagree :-) If you listen to the spotify version, you hear them way better…so I think it’s intentional.

    The 1st part was extra loud to show how he felt talking to these people like you don't really want to hear what they have to say anymore. Lyme Disease is very treatable but the longer it goes undetected the more damage it does to the body and he went Years being told everything was in his head while the Disease was damaging his body. Now instead of just treating that he has to work on fixing everything it did to his body. And he may never get his physical self back to the way it was

      That’s not exactly true. The only point when Lyme’s disease is in the very infancy stage of infecting the body.
      A huge percentage of people infected at that stage are totally unaware that they’ve been bitten or infected because they absolutely zero symptoms.
      If your lucky and get the tell tale bullseye rash, and it’s treated then a simple course of anti-biotics will kill it. The problem is many people don’t get the rash and don’t see the tick because it can be about the size of a poppy seed. If it’s in your hair or between your toes you’ll never see it.

    The name Ren has a depper meaning. The Meaning of Ren in Confucianism
    The core thought of Confucianism is Ren, but what is the meaning of Ren?
    Ren (or Rén) is the Confucian virtue denoting the good feeling a virtuous human experiences when being altruistic. Ren is exemplified by a normal adult's protective feelings for children. It is considered the inward expression of Confucian ideals.
    Yan Hui, Confucius's most outstanding student, once asked his master to describe the rules of Rén and Confucius replied, "One should see nothing improper, hear nothing improper, say nothing improper, do nothing improper." Confucius also defined Rén in the following way: "wishing to be established himself, seeks also to establish others; wishing to be enlarged himself, he seeks also to enlarge others." Another meaning of Rén is "not to do to others as you would not wish done to yourself." Confucius also said, "Rén is not far off; he who seeks it has already found it." Rén is close to man and never leaves him.
    Nature of Rén
    Rén relies heavily on the relationships between two people, but at the same time encompasses much more than that. It represents an inner development towards an altruistic goal, while simultaneously realizing that one is never alone, and that everyone has these relationships to fall back on, being a member of a family, the state, and the world.
    Rén is not a concept that is learned; it is innate, that is to say, everyone is born with the sense of Rén. Confucius believed that the key to long-lasting integrity was to constantly think, since the world is continually changing at a rapid pace.
    There have been a variety of definitions for the term Rén. Rén has been translated as "benevolence", "perfect virtue", "goodness" or even "human-heartedness". When asked, Confucius defined it by the ordinary Chinese word for love, ai, saying that it meant to "love others".
    Rén also has a political dimension. Confucianism says that if the ruler lacks Rén, it will be difficult for his subjects to behave humanely. Rén is the basis of Confucian political theory; the ruler is exhorted to refrain from acting inhumanely towards his subjects. An inhumane ruler runs the risk of losing the Mandate of Heaven or, in other words, the right to rule. A ruler lacking such a mandate need not be obeyed, but a ruler who reigns humanely and takes care of the people is to be obeyed, for the benevolence of his dominion shows that he has been mandated by heaven. Confucius himself had little to say on the active will of the people, though he believed the ruler should definitely pay attention to the wants and needs of the people and take good care of them. Mencius, however, did state that the people's opinion on certain weighty matters should be polled.
    Rén also includes traits that are a part of being righteous, such as hsin, meaning to make one's words compliment his actions; li, which means to properly participate in everyday rituals; ching, or "seriousness"; and yi, which means right action. When all these qualities are present, then one can truly be identified as a chün tzu (君子), or "superior man," which means a morally superior human being. Confucians basically held the view that government should be run by ethically superior human beings who concentrate solely on the welfare of the people they govern
