I’m learning Japanese so I came across your videos. The first one I saw was you in a hoodie with a chin beard and mustache… and I laughed so hard! You have an awesome personality! I’m subscribed and I look forward to your new videos and disguises!
Pro tip: Letting Natsu bite your hand is training her to do that in the future -- and when she gets bigger, it's going to hurt and leave marks. The solution is to find a stuffed animal or plushy that you hold while she bites it. She'll learn to bite, kick, and scratch the plushy and not you. ;) I like this kind of content -- kitten videos are gold on UA-cam.
I was going to say the same thing. Use cat toys like feather on a stick to play with the cat. Don't use our hand. Also get several scratching posts and leave them close to places the cat might like to scratch, such as a sofa. And never ever remove claws from a cat. I don't know the law in Japan but in most of Europe it's forbidden, because that's mutilation and your cat will start to show other disturbing behavior. Check videos by Jackson Galaxy. I think he gives really good advice.
Definitely no de clawing. It cuts off the first joint of their little fingers, and the exercise they get from using a scratching post or branch (some cats like soft posts, some like hard wood) strengthens their heart muscles. We also walk our cat on a leash. They like to stop and smell things and watch things more than dogs do, so it can be slow going. Thank goodness for books on phone for cat walks.
@@NihongoDekita😊😊❤❤❤I love you from Morocco. My name is Razan. I am Muslim and I have an Arab beauty I have a request, can you do a video on how to say I am a Muslim? How do I say I want chicken in Japanese? Thank you How do I say delicious food? Kawaii Love you thanks 😘🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼I have a sad question about me so you can answer me and then I will tell you
So, cats are a little different than dogs. Training them not to scratch or bite can be a little difficult. It's easier to just re-direct them. Make sure she has a dedicated scratching post, a scratch-friendly cat tree, and plenty of toys she can bite. That will teach her that those items are for playing, while you are for food and cuddling. She will occasionally want to play rough with you, and you just have to redirect her gently to a toy. She will also want somewhere tall, so to avoid her climbing your furniture, the cat-tree (or even a cat-shelf) will be useful. Most importantly, enjoy your new best friend! haha
Honestly it's easier for you to learn how to handle her without making her want to bite you, which can be trickier if the cat is young (or just have a playful or aggressive personality).
Cuddle and Play with her is the best way to make her comfortable, Later she'll think that you're her mother... Slowly she won't bite or scratch you anymore.
Hmmm the only way I know is to train a dog to chase the cat when it's scratching. Good luck with your cat but your couch and your curtains are condemned.
Congratulations mama, it's a kitty! Thank you for saving this precious creature. 🙏 I think people would love to see more vlogs in Japanese for both the language practice as well as just seeing what you're up to. And of course putting a cute kitty on UA-cam never hurts. 😊
What's crazy is that even though this video is mostly in Japanese, I can literally read the first bits of the video! My Japanese studying is paying off 😅 Edit: I made a comment on this thread that'll tell you my routine.
Lovely that you are adopting, Sayaka. I hope you have many lovely moments together. As someone who has had cats for his entire life by now, some quick tips, if I may: - cats sleep a lot, on average 16 hours a day, and the remaining 8 hours has about 4 hours of grooming and the remaining 4 hours is being out and about - in those 4 hours, make sure you play with them for a bit, cats need to spend that excess energy, otherwise they will get hyperactive at some point (which some people call "the zoomies" it seems) - if you can afford it, get something like a cat tree, cats love to be high up where they can have an overview of their "domain" - get something like a scratch post (a lot of cat trees have this) or scratch cardboard, your furniture will thank you, this will also have reduce the sharpness of the nails and save you a bit from the scratches - scratching a cat's belly is quite different from a dog's, some cats will attack you, others will allow it - despite many myths and stories, do not feed normal milk to a cat - cats like to have their food and drink bowls kept apart and generally not together, also get wide bowls (stainless steel is one of the best options) since their whiskers touching the rim of the bowls is highly annoying to them, regularly clean them - also read up about some plants and flowers that are lethally toxic to cats, such as lillies, cats differ quite a bit from dogs with some of these and innocuous seeming plants can literally kill your cat unless you get to a vet quickly There is at least one wonderful channel on UA-cam run by Jackson Galaxy who can tell you much, much more about cats. Definitely recommend watching him.
Adding onto this comment with a few more tips: - cats often don't drink an adequate amount, so adding water to their kibble/dry food is a great way to add some extra water in their diet. Natsu may not need this now, but it's definitely a good tip to remember as she grows -about her nails: the scratching post/toys will certainly help but you can always clip a cat's nails just as you would a dog! If it is something you're interested in then start sooner rather than later so Natsu gets used to her paws being played with. Like dogs, cats have a part of the nail called the "quick" which will cause pain and bleeding if cut into, just like if you cut into the skin of a human nail. The quick can usually be identified by its pink color!
Yup, growing up surrounded by stray, farm and house cats, I definitely agree with all of those tips. I'd really avoid getting her used to scratch and bite your hands or any part of you, hands are for petting and toys are for scratching, made that mistake as a kid and I got scratch marks all over until the day she left us. For her nails, try to get her used to it, she's kind of small at the moment, but a good trick is to take her lower legs under your elbow and let her rest on your arm so you can take her front paws in your hand. Then gently press her fingers between your thumb and index fingers until her claw comes out, doesn't hurt her if you do it right, you can then just use your free hand to cut her claws (I use human nail clippers but wouldn't recommend it to anyone, I'm just way better with those than cat nail clippers). At first, I'd recommend just cutting off the very tip of the nail and doing it frequently, and when comfortable with the nail anatomy, you can cut a bit more but don't cut anyway near the pink part as @Katie-go1gc said. As for the rear paws, my cats just don't need them cut, check them but usually they're the right length and trim themselves naturally depending on their activity and the surface they walk on. Important last note, check her thumbs, people tend to forget about them and on my cats they tend to grow quicker due to not being scratched as much because of their awkward position. Anyway, have fun with your new Kitty, hope she'll get and give you much love though her life, you both deserve it.
as a cat owner for about 7 years (my cat technically belongs to my mum), here are some facts: fun facts: - Some cats will pee on things, like my cat do when he feels insecured. - If you wanna get to know your cat, remember it takes time and patience. Start slow and don't rush the cat to trust you. - If a cat follows you everywhere, congrats, it trusts you like you're their mums, so don't get too mad if it follows you (even into the bathroom) - for my cat, I feed him 1 can a day. it depends. But as long as you don't overfeed him, it is fine. - Generally, cats are indoor pets, of course, there're a lot of outdoor cats. If you found your cat disliking outdoor activities, don't force it. - Consider getting a cat-sitter when you're away for a few days, they tend to get lonely. - Yes, cats can get flees - The lifespan of an average healthy cat is 13-17 years. Outdoor cats tend to have a SLIGHTLY shorter lifespan
Natsu is so cute! This reminds me of Makoto Shinkai's She and Her Cat (the book!) This video was great with practicing Japanese comprehension/ learning new words, so I look forward to more of them!

Also, plus besides not playing with your hands, if she bites you or uses her claws with you, scream like she's hurting you (even if she doesn't), because that's how they learn as kittens from their siblings how much strength they can use when playing. When you scream she will know that she's using too much force playing and will look at you like "what happened?" but don't worry, that's how it should be! You are doing great! がんゔぁれ!
I liked you from the start, from the very first video I watched on your channel. Now I love you. "I rescued a kitten." Awww... I'm absolutely delighted with you. You both are adorable. I wish you a long and happy life together.

This was great! I really enjoy having the subtitles at the bottom to go along with the cute updates on the kitten :)
Natsu is adorable. Thank you for this vlog this is my first time finding your account and I love it ❤
Also, plus besides not playing with your hands, if she bites you or uses her claws with you, scream like she's hurting you (even if she doesn't), because that's how they learn as kittens from their siblings how much strength they can use when playing. When you scream she will know that she's using too much force playing and will look at you like "what happened?" but don't worry, that's how it should be!
You are doing great! がんゔぁれ!
I'm so proud of you for giving the little cat a new life ❤
I liked you from the start, from the very first video I watched on your channel. Now I love you.
"I rescued a kitten." Awww... I'm absolutely delighted with you. You both are adorable. I wish you a long and happy life together.
I can watch her talking whole day man. ❤
These videos are great! Keep them coming!
I like this mini vlog style and also you are a great cat mother
Looking forward to see more of these longer videos from you Sayaka-san. 😍
