So many people watching this in 2021and beyond have no idea, not even a clue, of how *fantastic and fulfilling* life was back then in this type of lifestyle. Truly, truly the good ol' days & nights.
the great mccarthy was id say the 2nd best show of season 1. my friend from ft lauderdale bought the boat "blackjack" off ebay about 4 months ago. think it was like 45k he paid. great music and video.jan hammer was outstanding on this show!! i was on this show as an extra back in 85 and 86. thanks for the video!!! 5 stars!!!!
The first part of this is somewhat similar to the intro to The Who's "Can't Explain". I heard that on the radio today and did a double take, because it immediately made me think of this superb episode. I'm willing to bet Jan Hammer was inspired by it, probably subconsciously. It's a great theme, like all Hammer's work on Miami Vice.
Dude, you know the episode, "Glades?" Do you remember the tune where Crockett is on the roof ready to rescue the man's daughter? You know where I can get that? It seems rare.
@@jasonrfoss248 If you look carefully at 0:17 to 0:23, you'll see the instability...and no, look at the whole of the video & you can make out the second motor on the number-two boat.
@@gavinvalentino1313 Yeah, the instability is obvious to the outside observer, but for the boat-driver its should have been blatantly obvious... amateurs!

Man I wish I'd been born before '88, there was so much great TV, music and movies in the '80s and Miami Vice was the very best of it.
I was 8 yo and I remember this show. Today I watch them again on Netflix.

It's from the "Miami Vice: The Complete Collection" CD.
Some one just bought the original boat Miami vice used on 3 seasons
Wasnt this bradcast with "Steppenwolf's Born to be Wild" ?
Yes it was.

if autechre were around in the 80's it would sound like this.
@TransAMGTA1988 Look at "Jan Hammer - The Complete Miami Vice Collection" CD!
That boat with the graphic "Sting ", number "2" is trimmed too high, unstable (rocking side to side) and porpoising.
Well it’s got an outboard and only one of them so it’s not built to compete with the other boats that all have dual inboards.

Give yourself a cookie for typing the blatantly obvious to any offshore enthusiast.

Lucky lucky
@sparced
Possibly. This is far more melodic than Autechre usually is.
Quick question, why do they need helmets?
Because at those types of speeds if you are thrown overboard or a wave tosses you around the cabin your head will be squashed like a grapefruit.
@@jasonrfoss248 thanks for letting me know. Safety first after all
Back before they knew not to cover up the sound of the boat engines with music... ;-)
The Great McCarthy was one of the best episodes…..” where’s the number 5 Boat “ ? Start without them……🤭
Steppenwolf?
The Band is named Steppenwolf. Check out their song 🎧 Born to be Wild!
