Yes and no here. Still an okay pickup that I think will increase in profit like anything but not the biggest bang for your buck. Probably one of the worst sets in the SV era as far as artwork and playable cards. However, it’s up to you guys. I’d rather pick up a booster box of Paradox Rift (which is also quite cheap).
I was thinking exactly this, and the Casseiopia looks very clean and vivd. I Feel like this is guna be a sleeper and hit Hard AF when the flashy bangers hype wears off
I don't care what people say, shrouded fable is my favorite set of all time and if people actually played the DLC they will understand how cool the loyal three are.
I feel like people overlook it only because it doesn't have a poster child pokemon. I agree the set would be the worse if you do not like any of the Pokemons, but we need to admit there is some good card arts like the Houdoom, duskulls evolutions and others.
Found your channel some days ago and I just want to say good job and thanks for your videos! I have watched them all (some even more than once). Keep up the good work!
Completely agree with the advice to look where the hype isn’t. But Shrouded Fable is dog water. But love the idea that people stay out of the better S&V sets and park their money here. Better for me 👍
The issue here, is standard ETBs for modern sets are typically very slow to increase in value due to how much is printed. Booster Boxes and PC exclusives are far better as I think we will all agree. Sure this set is over hated, but you can also currently still pick up a lot of other PC exclusive ETBs from the SV era for the same price. It's not that this set won't appreciate over time, but there are far better plays. I would rather pick up a Japanese Night Wandered Booster Box than this ETB for basically the same price.
It's not an awful set, it's just that there are many other sets in SV that are way better. I do agree people should look where others aren't, but I don't think this is THAT set
I am recently collecting again, and I liked this set but saw it has no value! I’m not investing nor competing I just like to collect cards, do you recommend I buy this ETB or surging sparks? Or another
Are you into collecting sealed or singles? If you like specific singles, buying what you like is the cheapest option. Opening product to try and get cards you want will cost way more (but is fun of course)
I get what you're saying, but not many people want to open it now, so very likely they won't care to in the future. I personally would not invest into this set. Just look at other weak sets, they're barely climbing. Might as well put your money into a set that is loved. But I do agree, form your own opinions. And this is mine lol
Thanks for the comment. Forming one's own opinion was the takeaway. I just want folks to be careful listening to the hype/"gurus" on buy/sell info given we're likely going to have a large uptick in focus on the finance side with things pumping.
I think this set will be underprint, meaning that its going to be more rare. Its not always the best set that are valuable. Pokemom Center ETB for this one is the best choice. One day its going to be sold out and thats when it will start to rise up.
I ended up picking up 12 booster bundles of shrouded for $19 a pop. I like the more compact packages and x6 = “booster box”. Not getting a promo is unfortunate but I never liked the bulk products in an ETB or the space they take up. Stomping Grounds has the booster bundles for $19 still ($114 for 36 packs).
PokeData.io I like to look at total value in set and then see how that value is spread out amongst top 5-10 cards. Couple good chase cards of high value then a nice even spread indicates (to me at least) that the art is generally appreciated by the market as a whole.
Absolutely buy a little of everything as it comes out. But it's helpful to look at history and recognize that there are lackluster sets in every era that dont move for over 2 eras. There is a difference between an underdog and an injured horse. If you're adamant that your future fortunes lie in buying products like Shrouded Fable, I say please also buy up Crimson Invasion and Battle Styles while you're at it. Balance out buying what you love with what is popular, drown out the big voices, keep emotions out of it. Oh, and learn the game. You'll enjoy the hobby even more.
The point of the video is to question everything. There are many times in the last couple of years where something was considered a distressed product and the market later turned positive on it.
I loved the video and agree that you should be a free thinker in the market. I knew in my gut that Paldea Evolved was slept on, then 6 months later everyone lost their lid on the magikarp The market switches up so fast.
I mean u can get a case of 10 for 290 i see it going to atleast 50 per etb in a year or 2 for me personally im done collecting etbs only banger sets like 151 or paldean or cz but im going extra hard on the pc etb cases i think that will be the move u can get a case for 252 i deff seeing even the worst set cases going for 400 to 500 in 2 years when the next era comes out
@@saladfood yes due to it be a collectible thats only purchasable at msrp from pokemon center also they come with a extra promo with pokemon center stamp thats exclusive to the pc etb notice how you can buy shroaded fable etb for 25 but pokemon center etb version of it on 2nd market is still 70 bucks even the worst set will still hold at msrp or above so its a solid long term hold that show no chance of money loss only set that went below msrp a bit was paradox rift but by a few bucks but i bet in 2 years that wont be the case trust dude go buy a sealed case of twm or steller crown its still there and will be worth it
Bad set why? For investment or gameplay? Big difference between the 2. It is indeed very cheap now and all the attention goes to Surging and Prismatic. I think the set is good even much better than Stellar.
While it has meta-influential cards in Cursed Blast Dusknoir line, Fezandipiti ex and Pecharunt ex, mostly; they're dirt cheap to get and Fez is around $10. For collectors, it has little to offer in terms of its array of human characters and pokémon to the hyper-fanatic groups e.g.: Lillie and Charizard. This is why you see the new Pikachu ex at $600 and not the high-end Fezandipiti ex despite it being meta. Many investors and casual collectors don't even know what a Fezandipiti is. Lastly, some of its best-looking cards are promos.
Paradox booster box case is roughly 550 and still going down. Lowest I’ve seen is 93. Shroud bundle case for around 199.99 or less. All depends on what you think would be better. Look at the hit per set. Paldean can be had for 300.
@ a booster box of paradox will outperform an etb of shrouded fable without a doubt . As to what set is stronger that’s debatable but at the price point of paradox booster boxes compared to shrouded fable of etbs it’d be smarter to get booster boxes
Hard disagree. The masses don't have the means or intent of putting away sealed product for a long period of time. The VAST majority of pokemon sealed product goes into the hands of people of all ages who enjoy cracking packs chasing that art or SIR.
@ i know it’s not a popular opinion, because everyone wants to think their sealed collection is worth millions, 10-20 years from now. Problem is, 10-20 years from now we’re going to be finding out how much product has been kept sealed. And let me tell you, it’s going to be a lot. I wish it wasn’t true because I have a decent sealed collection. Certain sealed product is still going to be valuable; obviously the older the better. For example, sealed product that became expensive before the sealed collecting boom will probably retain its value for the most part. Evolving Skies came around just on the cusp of the boom, so most people didn’t think to stockpile a lot of it. Still, there’s a ton of it unopened out there. Older sets like Sun and Moon and before are pretty safe. If you’re collecting a lot of newer Scarlet and Violet sets, you’re kind of late to the party. It sucks, but it’s true.
@PokéMarketLab-t7j The PokeInvesting Subreddit has over 100k followers. This is way bigger than you understand. The reason base set boxes are so valuable is because this mindset almost didn't exist. Nobody just randomly held onto these things. So the supply is extraordinarily outweighed by the demand. Now, you have a community of over 100,000 people, on one website, and ALL they do is talk about holding onto sealed products. In 20 years, S&V booster boxes will go up in value, sure. But it will NEVER be what it was.

This set is worse than Pokemon Go and will take many years to climb. Way better investments to get. Spend your money on Prismatic preorders and get as much as you can.
Finally! I keep hearing about how paradox rift is the big set that people are overlooking and I'm like bruh. Shrouded fable has bangers imo
I love the Houndoom in this set. And the Horsea. Sub from me. Great video.

Ive been stacking up on cheap SF booster bundles at the minute!
I still think the Persian IR will be massive. Low hits rates on a set everyone skipped, with a cool vivid card of a Gen 1 classic.
This is a subjective hobby so if you love it then that's all that matters.
I do like it. Lots of copies of the same pokemon buts it's still cool
I personally hate the loyal three since they bullied Ogerpon. However, their arts in this set are so good!
You couldn't pay me to care about the dumb bird, monkey, and dog. Horrible character design and atrocious names. 0/10 all around.
I feel like people overlook it only because it doesn't have a poster child pokemon. I agree the set would be the worse if you do not like any of the Pokemons, but we need to admit there is some good card arts like the Houdoom, duskulls evolutions and others.

It seems that every pokemon set goes up in value. Its just a matter of time.
I'm aiming for base set since I think its undervalued rn. Its a such a good base set compared to others. Along with some obsidian flames
Only 90 subs? Let’s make it 91 then..great content bro!

I like this thought. While Prismatic, SS, 151 are going nuts? Where else should we look to buy low?
Paradox/Stellar boxes may be on discount close to black Friday. Stellar is a good upper mid-tier set to pickup around $100.

Why PC ETB over regular one if the price is double for PC one?

I think you are right on track with that thinking. My order of priority for specialty sets would probably be PC ETB > Bundle > ETB
