Hey man I totally agree with your list...Rivington Guitars and Carmine St.. Guitars are great places along with Ludlow ....great bunch of guys there. Excellent vintage gear. Rick Kelly is the guy at carmine St. guitars that you talk about in your clip....he makes guitars out of 100 year old Bowery salvaged pine. Saved from some of NYC oldest loft spaces... Thanks for the list!
You are correct my friend,,, STAY AWAY from Armen’s repair.....he’s a rude prick and WILL NOT take the time to help anyone, and will try to kick you out of his store rather than take the time to help you. It’s no wonder why his relationship with Rogue Music went down hill.
Pentatonic Guitars in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, hop, skip 'n a jump from Main Drag & Southside..... most overlooked (most eclectic) guitar shop in the area in the upper corner pocket of Brooklyn.
Man, your video was very helpful to me since I am going to NYC in August this year and I intend to buy a bass guitar. When I was about to write a question about Ludlow store you mentioned it in the video and I will definitely check it out. But I also want to know what do you think of Matt Umanov store in case had the chance to know it. I dig going to small stores like you because of the same reasons. Thanks in advance!
Was hoping u were going into some of the stores. But good advice. I'm in cc philly not one store. It's sad. One thing. Got to ludlows. Cool store a bit snobby though. Not outright rude. But could've been nicer. We did have a store here. 8th st omg I did business there but they treated each other and their customers like we were a burden.
Hey man. Ludlow is great, matt umanov not so much. You'd be better off going to carmine st guitars. if you're looking to buy a bass I suggest you check out main drag music they keep an up to date inventory list on their site plus their stores are a lot of fun to check out... Cheers!
