Worst set back yet! My sailboat got hit by another boat. (c04p06)

After spending the last several months in San Diego getting the sailboat ready to sail the world, it was getting time to sail south to Mexico and make final repairs. However, while I was off the boat enjoying my final days in the city with my new girlfriend, my boat was hit. Someone sailed into the my sailboat, causing massive damage, and then took off. This is the worst set back yet, and will likely further delay my goal of sailing around the world.

If it was not for bad luck you would have no luck at all.
Who is your insurance carrier? At least that is a big relief. Good luck.

It sure feels that way sometimes Lol. I currently have my insurance through State Farm. They've been great to work with; wish I could keep them when I head out, but they only cover within 100 miles of the US.

We're sorry to hear that. I've had a few curve balls thrown my way getting the boat ready to sail, but once we get her fixed up, we'll be back out sailing for sure! Unfortunately there isn't likely to me much sailing till next summer though; hope you check back then.
