  • Mary Anne Borge is a naturalist, photographer, author and educator. She is the editor of Butterfly Gardener magazine, a naturalist and instructor at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve, and a Pennsylvania Master Naturalist. She is the team leader for Lambertville Goes Wild, lambertvillego..., a volunteer organization that successfully led the City of Lambertville to certification as a community wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. At her blog, the-natural-web.org, Mary Anne writes about and illustrates with her photography the importance of native plants to all life.
    Even in winter, native plants are visible all around us.     I removed all the Asian praying mantis egg sacs and a year or two later, I had the first native Carolina Mantis.
