I had to take an electronics class for my hvac certification. It was online because of Covi. It was not set up for online. We literally had to watch home made UA-cam videos about different electronic subjects. Often 12 to 17 per chapter. MANY videos were made by people who had more knowledge of film editing than electronics. I have the Fluke 116 hvac meter but this meter is very similar. I wish I would have had this video for class. The guy is organized, quick, competent. Thank you for the video!
I have seen you insert the red lead before the black lead. in the manual it said to insert the COM lead before the live one, and remove it after the live.
The Volt Alert function with the com wire touching the phasin cable will show that there is a phase? Is it possible to determine which wire is the phase?
I think you are asking if the Volt Alert can tell the difference between Neutral and Line. I suppose you can do a test with known wires and put it in proximity of each to see if there is a difference in alert sounds.
You use DC voltage to measure the 12V car battery and make sure leads on connected to the voltage mode instead of current or it'll blow the fuse. It is okay to reverse it as it'll just measure a negative voltage.
One difference is 117 has a 40MOhm+ accuracy of 1.5%+2. 117C has a 5% + 2. It's a small difference but I would guess they changed it to use a different internal part for various reasons. However, they cannot change the part and call the product the same thing, hence a 'C' signifier. I've never needed to measure something so high in practice so it might not matter to most people.
Thanks for doing a review on the Fluke 117. I like the meter but don't care for the test leads that come with them. They are way too stiff to work with. Do you have a suggestion for better test leads? Thanks
I’m not an electric person so sorry if this is a dumb question… I watched a video to test a part the person put it on 20,000 olm setting and got 1.75. What would this be on this meter? Thought it would let me select with the buttons. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Cheaper meters requires you to set a setting for reading different ranges of resistance (ohms). This one will auto range and change it based on what you measure. From mega ohms down to 0.1 ohms.
Help... I tried out the Voltage Alert feature and keep getting BEEPS on everything, even on my door knob and unplugged lamps. Am I doing something wrong? Help anybody..

Good bro
Great review. Very precise. No dragging with nonsense and all information
I appreciate that!
Good bro 😊
Very good video! I just bought a Fluke 117 and had to refamiliarize myself with a multimeter. Thx again.
Glad it helped
Good bro 😊
Wow, this video was amazing for a noob like myself. Thanks dude. Just picked one up for $150 as well.
Good bro 😊
Thank you i did buy a 117 because you made the tutorial very well Explained
Thank you!
Thank you!

Nice bro 😊
Great video! Appreciate the review of the device functionality - super helpful.
Glad it was helpful!

measuring superior conduction is a innovative dervice
Nice bro 😊
Thank you for posting. You answered my question in the first 2 ninutes.
You are welcome!

Great review, very informative. Thank you!

Right to the point. Great video
Good bro 😊
To the point. Thanks for making this easy. Well done 👍
Glad it helped

Great video!, what setting do you use to check a hybrid battery? Like the one on a Prius. Thank you

Excellent work
sir what is the difference of Fluke 117C to Fluke 117 . what is { C} means.

The only test leads I purchased are Pomona ones long ago, I’m sure they have better and/or more flexible ones now.
Video ❤. But how masermant bandwedth ?
what a name: BeatTheBush .... 😊

Good working bro 💯
Nice1 Beat & thank you

Does it beeping when the diode is connected in the forward direction?
Good bro
Where did you get the case for your 117 ? Thanks
Matching case here: amzn.to/3NRzV4n (affiliate link)

Try it in another location and see if it is as sensitive.
Top tier video
a very useful video
Nice bro 😊
Can you test continuity?
Yes
Good bro 💯
nice job

Fluke 117c vs uni-trennd ut117c ????
The product looks very similar on the surface, I wonder if Uni-trend want to send me one to do this comparison?
0.9% accuracy is pretty high considering that the cheaper 15b or 17b has 0.5% accuracy
Good bro ❤😊
you can get a false reading by using your fingers cause we conduct electricity. get the gator clips. just saying. have a good day.
Depends if the thing you are measuring is close in capacitance or resistance to when you touch the leads.
Nice ❤
there are only 2 Fluke meters the 117 and the 87v... the rest is fluff, or oddly spacifac.
Op bro
My Asian wife likes your screen name. 😂
Designing is probably done with software or a simulation.
Good bro 😊😊😊
your on stage i'm in the trenches {{wdtm}}
Nice 😊

❤❤❤❤❤❤
These multimeters are no fluke
To bad it doesnt have tempature on it, otherwise it is a good general purpose meter I also have the fluke 87v max
Great for 'most' cases, less temp.
Good bro 😊❤
fluke can't type that
Come here for like
Nice ❤
