Lived in Prince George Country/Fort Lee from 1976-1978 and again in 1983-1985. The James River scared me with the sheer width of it at Hopewell. I'm not certain though that Hopewell has been elevated to be one of the best cities in VA to live in.....to each his/her own I suppose.
My father is a retired army warrant officer, and retired Hopewell sheriff captain. He purchased his home in Hopewell back in 1985, and he just never left. Although we were both born and raised in NYC, Hopewell had easily became the center point for the family, and it's the longest place my father has ever lived.
