But, speaking as a game developer, I can say from experience that you can never rely too much on NPC dialog, tutorial text, or anything like that to teach a player a specific mechanic. Most people learn by doing, and even if they read all the text it might not register as important or stick in their minds. It's a very common sight in playtesting, and ya can't blame the players for it

Fun Facts about Maxime Gunn (Spoilers below): Maxime Gunn's skills are radically different from Alcedor's usual skills. - Guided Strike (Slam attack) is replaced with _"Fire in the hole",_ spawning 3 grenades that fall downwards and explode in a large AOE, not affecting Maxime's movement. - Skycall (Upwards attack) is replaced with a simple double jump. - Holy Charge is replaced with _"Rocket Charge",_ Which acts exactly like Holy Charge mechanically, but visually it has Maxime holding a large rocket above his head, which propels him forward. Most likely a reference to how Contra games semi-frequently have the protagonists holding onto giant missiles in order to get somewhere or fight something. Since holding the attack button is how Maxime Gunn works normally, this ability is instead activated by pressing Jump and Attack at the same time with very strict timing. - Precision Strike will now allow bullets to pierce enemies (Not that it's really needed) as well as break cracked blocks. You won't get the ability to deflect projectiles. - The Holy Light spell (or Hellfire spell if you're on the evil paths) will make the gun fire 5 bullets at once akin to the spread shot while still having the fast firing rate. Maxime Gunn's weapon unlocks are also different, with you unlocking new bullets instead of a new gun. The further tiers simply make your bullets do more damage and have slightly larger hitboxes. Finally, Maxime Gunn mode activates for one of the endings. In order to get this ending, you need to follow the Ultimate Good path until you get the Necronomicon, and have your Demonology book (Bestiary) filled out almost completely. I completed Ultimate Good killing every possible enemy in that path and it still wasn't enough, so you'll likely need to complete at least one of the evil paths to fill the book out enough. Once all the criteria is fulfilled and you've completed the side quest with the possessed man in Darsov's church with Gregor's help, you can go back to Gregor's church and talk to him to start the Future Ending. In the Future ending, Gregor sends you to the future in order to stop Azazel the Fallen. The future generation of his order awaits you, and gift you the machine gun, said to be blessed and passed down through generations in preparation for your arrival. You then battle through what is basically Infernax's equivalent of Neo City, with unique Contra-like enemies, before facing off against Azazel, who is honestly pretty easy and sadly lacks a unique boss theme, but it's still a cool battle regardless, and after he's dead, you ride off on a motorcycle.
There's a LOT of fun content in this game that you haven't seen in this playthrough. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend playing through to see the rest of the possibilities (even if you don't upload it).

As a long time Vinesauce fan, do whatever's best not only for the channel in terms of what you see fit, but what is best for you too. If these changes make you happy, then that's better for the streams/pre-recordings, cause if you're happy, it radiates off the stream/recording. 2-3 streams a week, plus recordings to fill in most days, even if there isn't one to fill the rest of the days, is still good. Everyone's getting content and getting the funnys. That's more than enough, so long as you're still having fun doing it.

Vinny responded to like 2 of my messages ever during my entire run of watching him, and I've met SOME cool people via chat, who are now since then long gone. But I mean, if it does suck, it does. We just gotta be thankful for what we do have, and we have is at least 2-3 streams with the chat and the funny hahas.
"Missed a couple bosses..." There are 8 endings, of which 3 add not insignificant amount of playtime and more bosses, on top of the 3 gimmick modes too. It is well worth pursuing. Shame Vinny won't, but understandable. Love that he stumbled into the coward ending at least. This game is amazing.

Yeah, I guess can understand where the confusion is coming from with the Twitch broadcasts vs. you actually being live (even though Johnny was labeling which one it was...). I never watched live, I personally prefer watching the videos once they go up on UA-cam, so *I* don't mind, but obviously I can see how others would mind more than I do. Though yeah I do think it would probably be a good idea to make a separate/individual announcement about this since not everyone is necessarily going to be watching this game of course.
i want to see him do an ultimate good playthrough. mostly cause its the only way you can reach the final dungeon and i want to see what he does about baphomet's torso. as in will he edit the video or leave it as is.

Folks don't want prerecorded but also don't bother to read. Typical. In that case, I personally consider it a good call to put a halt to the prerecorded Twitch premiers until further notice, if only so certain types stop taking it for granted (or learn how to read).

Its getting to hang out, err listen to you just chill out to some video games. I totally understand the changes, though I hate that they're largely the result of Twitch being a fuckup that removes actually useful features while refusing to fix its shit.
For me I think it does the character stuff even better even if the budget/action takes a bit of a back seat. Upon rewatching BB I thought Walt was insufferable from the beginning which is fine I'm not asking for flawless characters and he's definitely supposed to be written as such I just felt like I was getting annoyed on my rewatch if that makes sense.
I've had to postpone my DND campaign because of Elden Ring because I literally can't focus on anything else atm. It's obsessive and I'm almost manic. Great game.
I'm fine with pre-recorded stuff, as Vinny can be himself more I feel. And since there's no chat distracting him, he can also focus on the game too. Though, allow me to share some perspective: I feel like chat is a component of the stream, even if I'm not participating in it, if that makes sense. It's why I make extensive use of the Chat Replay extension: seeing chat's reaction to things is fun. But I do completely understand that it might be more effort than its worth what with Johnny's tech issues and moderation being what it is. I wouldn't bother with Premieres personally since UA-cam's chat experience is garbage.
as someone thats been watching for like 8 years at this point, i think i can say for everyone that you should have whatever schedule you want. youve never officially had a schedule anyway. i do kind of wish that you would set the vods to start streaming at midnight though. i miss late night vinny.

The "hard mode" on here is what I would consider normal. Maybe because I grew up playing NES. This game is quite easy is my view. The only hard time I was having was that danged upthrust but then I realized you can use the right stick. Oh dang so that's what the basic end boss fight is supposed to be like. The one time I did it he attacked twice then stood there. I hit him a bunch and he died.

NGL I watch exclusively VODs, I don't even do the live prerecorded stuff, so more or less live stuff changes very little for me

For me I think it does the character stuff even better even if the budget/action takes a bit of a back seat. Upon rewatching BB I thought Walt was insufferable from the beginning which is fine I'm not asking for flawless characters and he's definitely supposed to be written as such I just felt like I was getting annoyed on my rewatch if that makes sense.

I've had to postpone my DND campaign because of Elden Ring because I literally can't focus on anything else atm. It's obsessive and I'm almost manic. Great game.

I'm fine with pre-recorded stuff, as Vinny can be himself more I feel. And since there's no chat distracting him, he can also focus on the game too. I am damn sure that chat was AT LEAST 75 percent responsible for his in game mistakes. Vinny plays games well, chat was the reason he was so smooth brain

Though, allow me to share some perspective: I feel like chat is a component of the stream, even if I'm not participating in it, if that makes sense. It's why I make extensive use of the Chat Replay extension: seeing chat's reaction to things is fun. But I do completely understand that it might be more effort than its worth what with Johnny's tech issues and moderation being what it is.
I wouldn't bother with Premieres personally since UA-cam's chat experience is garbage.

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to interact with other people on the internet. And getting to discuss things as they happen adds another element of enjoyment. It's nice to be able to laugh and cheer as a group. And Vinny has created a pretty decent community relative to other creators so wanting to be apart of it really isn't a bad thing. Chatting ain't that deep.

The "hard mode" on here is what I would consider normal. Maybe because I grew up playing NES. This game is quite easy is my view. The only hard time I was having was that danged upthrust but then I realized you can use the right stick.
Oh dang so that's what the basic end boss fight is supposed to be like. The one time I did it he attacked twice then stood there. I hit him a bunch and he died.
