I've always enjoyed it when I play a game like Battlefield 2 and the AI on my team successfully capture a CP without any assistance from me. Most of the time, the AI are just there to make the game look busy.

Vinny, you were making those first two jumps way harder than they needed to be. Rather than rushing to jump to the second platform as it's on its way up, you're supposed to wait until it drops and then just drop onto it
Exactly. He uses the correct method you're describing for the other jumps throughout the cave. He just didn't realise he could do it for the first jump as well. Incidentally, the rushed method does work for the first jump, but I'm sure it wasn't intentional at all by the developper(s).
You're failing to see his point though. If you as a developer are going to put segments like that in an area, they should be encountered later on, not this early in the game.

If this illustrates anything to prospective developers, it's that no matter how simple you make things, somebody is always going to find a way to play your game wrong and then blame you for it.
One of the Developers of this game used to stream some of the development on twitch, the same devs (Berserk Studios) made Just Shapes and Beats and also Zombidle. He's a cool guy honestly, his streams are fun, mostly just chilling out as he codes and tests stuff, fun to watch 'cause I always wanna be productive when doing so.
This probably won't get seen but there's alternate characters to play as, with different abilities and weapons and such. If you name your character Axcedor or Gardakan, you get a barbarian or a wizard respectively. Would love to see him try the wizard, it's so squishy.
Which is a shame, because it's certainly a game that should be played to the fullest extent, and be shown. Not to mention all the endings and secondary final bosses.
Having to backtrack through the entire dungeon on one lifebar looks scary as fuck. I'd be going back to the entrance to save every time I made progress in this game.
That's what I've been doing and I feel like that might be intended. You do get to heal more between saves as you progress, on top of getting more lives, so you can probably power through a castle in one go if you want to risk it
Also, about the platforming at 1:29:33 Vinny, rushed through them, it's doable to do so, but really hard, yet, if you stay on the first platform, you can jump, just before it crushes you and get into the other one that is about to go down, while you're jumping, it should be already going down , letting you proceed. It's funny to me since you did that same kind of timing later 1:30:42 tho that one is a bit easier but it's the same concept.
@@542 I think his point still stands though. If you're going to do platforming segments like that, there should either be a save point nearby, or the segments should come later in the game. This is still really early on.

I saw this and Skul on gamepass and said vin will definitely play this. Skul is great for the rouge aspect and this is Simon's quest done right to me and I love Simon's quest. Hope you try Skul the hero pulper vin. You'll have a good time with it.

After playing the crap out of this thing on the game pass I'm somehow not surprised to see Vinny try it out. I've already gotten the bad ending and started over to do the true good ending, and later the true bad ending. Not often I replay something so immediately. While it is balls hard at the start once you get used to the flow and a few upgrades its a very manageable length. Definitely recommend if you like stuff like Castlevania 2.

This game is great! It takes a few playthroughs to see all of the endings... (I think it's a minimum of three, but I needed four) And some of them you really need to look up how to get, because you're not going to think to do them... It's a short enough game though to not get repetitive when playing through it multiple times.
The final boss must be Alcedor's evil father, Count Drecola Anyway, I can never decide whether or not I want the old Konami style of platforming, where your momentum is fixed after your feet leave the ground. It makes me slow down and plan my jumps carefully, and as long as the level design favors combat over platforming, it usually works out all right. Maybe Super Castlevania IV balanced it best, where your have just a pinch of midair control.
I really just hope the cool looking priest dude with the blacked out eyes doesn't turn out to secretly be an evil sorcerer with yet another bland reissue of the "corrupted church" plotline that was already old hat by the time Final Fantasy Tactics used it.

I think the indie retro revival is great because we miss shorter games with more diversity in genre. Triple A studios are spending 3-5 years on one game and it absolutely HAS to be in one of the top 5 genres or it doesn't make its money back. So many genres have simply died out since the 1990s as a result. South Korea as a country has basically stopped making anything except MMOs.

yeah, it was pretty clear to me you're supposed to ride it up then jump as the next one starts going down, he keeps trying to get on the next one before it gets all the way to the top which is a pretty tight jump, just 2 seconds waiting and it's easy.
Pretty late but il say it anyway. when you progress in a dungeon like getting a key, you can always get out and save so you don't have to redo that path again if you game over.

Given as expected, vinny is doing way worse than me, lol. Only times i died was fighting those iorn knuckle skeletons. The first boss isn't really that hard since its pattern is pretty simple. Then again by that point i already got the heal spell without knowing it was the 3rd spell you were supposed to get. Also one thing i should point out is backtracking to a savepoint with your lives lost will restore them.
Was it at that wall to the left of one of the stairs? I haven't played this or seen it before but my simons quest sense was tingling, that ledge reminds me of the one in that game where you kneel.

The death animations are so well done that I was kinda curious to see how the second boss kills you.
