Best excuse to dissappear after sex. "My friend is dying."
“We were so close!”
Ah yes…what could’ve been.
I see what you did there 😏
made me laugh ngl
👏👏👏
I laughed a lit before crying 🥲
Laughs... then cries
Viktor: “I don’t want to die.”
Heim: “Sucks to suck. Oh, well what is losing a decade or two?”
That's the fascinating thing about Heimerdinger, he's objectively a good person and always wants to do what's best, but he displays absolutely zero empathy.
he is far too sweet to say that.
@@RikThunder33 You right, he'd rather ignore the situation in Zaun for his entirety.
@@jaimeruiz7837 I know how you feel. Its worse, but his intentions arent bad. Thats the problem, you can do so much more harm with good intentions sometimes
@@jaimeruiz7837 eventually he came down but...yeah. Most people are just living their lives where they are. Not sure how it's related though.
It's kind of hinted that Viktor actually upgraded the area he and Heimer talk by. They say that it's likely Water Pollution that got him sick as a child, and in the present day, the water is much clearer due to machines. Heimerdinger tells him to "Be proud of all that he accomplished" and I don't think he means the glorious and fancy hextech stuff he did with Jayce, but he means that genuinely helpful and important work he did for some of the undercity/poorer areas.
no, silco did that
@@ranniwolves What makes you say that
The young girl at the start is, in fact, Viktor's assistant, Skye Young. You can hear someone call "Skye!" in the background when she turns away to go back to swimming.
"There isn't a hint of Powder there!"
Meanwhile, I'm obsessing over the fact that she's drinking the same drink out of the same cup that she did in Ep. 2 when Vander was trying to cheer her up.
I mean, there's definitely a 'hint', at least.
My thoughts exactly XD
@@GeazakiCosplay Yeah. That little girl (Powder) is still in there somewhere....it's hopeful yet heartbreaking.
Almost every item in her "lair" is from her past. It gives me hope that there can be a relatively happy ending, but it will only make it more crushing when they inevitably don't go that way.
Yep. Basically everything about Jinx is intrinsically connected to her past as Powder, and that's what makes her so unstable.
There is no distinction between Powder and Jinx (other than the names); it's the same person, with the same memories, and the same thought process. Becoming Jinx didn't erase or replace Powder any more than turning 18 makes you a different person from who you were at 9. The identity of Jinx was a way to separate herself from painful memories and a past self she could no longer recognize. She didn't become a new person, she just changed.
“The mutation must survive.”
Young Viktor didn’t understand, but the older one did. They need to succeed, whatever it takes.
Awww it's so cute that they think theres gonna be a happy ending.
so hopeful, so naive
So cute that they think the story is predictable xD
The only ending you get is a void in your heart knowing it'll take AT LEAST another 3 years for s2.
On the bright side, we might go to war with China soon and we won't have to suffer that long.
They even mentioned, in regards to the Vi and Powder/Jinx situation, this: "..this isn't progress that's being undone. It's progress that happened, and even if some parts of it were undone, it's still a net gain of progress." They are really setting themselves up for more pain (and possibly disappointment).
So I am very curious how they will take the ending.
@@Kirathian1234 I have a feeling they're going to love the ending. Yes it was safe, but from a story telling perspective it was literally perfect.
The “Are you real?” Gets me every time.
The voice acting for that line (and a ton of others as well...that "NO!" scream at the end is heartbreaking) was phenomenal. It conveys that Jinx is aware she has mental illness issues, and almost as a practical matter she's opening up and asking for help determining that she's not hallucinating. I'd wager that it's likely she's experienced this or a similar scenario before where it was, in fact, not real.
Yes, Jinx voice actress did a wonderful job. Can't see another actress in that role
I love how immersed the bros get when watching these episodes. Episode 9 is going to destroy them..
Final of episode 7 also
Oh, they’ll be absolutely wrecked
oh yeah - I love these reactions as well ! I am really curious about the upcoming discussions of act III XD
Episode 9 is literally gonna be a 2 hour video
*I think every episode has been destroying them.*
The "Guns for Hire" sequence is so jaw-droppingly beautiful.
One of my best scenes of the series
Odd Taxi Replacement?
honestly might be my favorite scene/sequence out of the whole show
Fun Fact: The singer of that song, Woodkid, was originally brought in to perform something else. But when asked, the team let him try Guns for Hire… needless to say, they knew he had to do this after that.
Vi told Powder that if she fires the Blue Smoke signal, she will see here and come for her no matter what or where she is.
Jinx's tattoo on her Arm is a Blue Smoke cloud.
The Devil is in the details.
But the smoke tattoos are from her original character design though.
I think it just kind of worked out for the show in that way.
@@MrWizeazz they added meaning to her original design, rather than just a stylictic choice
@@MrWizeazz More like adding meaning to an allready existing element.
She had a blue cloiud tattoo in the game, not sure there is any real meaning behind it in the game.
But when they had to make the scene about the smoke signal, instead of it been red or yellow or any bright color that does cut off better from a dark background like it would normaly.
They said "HEy lets make it a Blue smoke signal, so that it matches her Tattoo and has meaning, ot at least people will think there is a meaning by associative Thinking"
@@Mugthraka it could also very well have been at least a little planned. Arcane started development around the same time Jinx was introduced, and the animation company that did the Get Jinxed video is the one that did Arcane (Fortiche). It IS a really small detail though, so probably not something they were thinking about during the early dev stages.
Egg-yolk is a standard ingredient for making paint "stick" since back before... Well, we had modern paint! The technical term is "Tempera" if you want to check it out, been used since the days of Ancient Egypt. It's a neat detail to include to be honest!
This comment is completely true and valid and I was thinking the same thing. But I absolutely love how incredibly out of place it feels to talk about egg-yolk after what happened in this episode LMAO
I love the subtle character development that egg is for Mel. To take her time to make her own colors could express, on one side, that she cares a lot about depicting Noxos properly, which means she loves and misses her home, and on the other, she is not just a great manipulator but also a great artist.
The scene where Cait hugs Huck is probably my favorite solo Caitlyn moment. It really highlights her compassion.
I’m real conflicted about the Professor H getting kicked off the council. On the one hand, he’s the only person on the council not in on dirty dealings and resembles a good person. But his inability to see that humans only have so much time, along with the fact that under his leadership tensions between Zuan and Piltover have just gotten worse and worse…. Like, something had to change. I do like that even Mel was conflicted about that play though.
Oh man the pain you hear in jinxs “vi?” at the end, finally being reunited with her sister, and then having her ripped away again after just 5 minutes
The actress did such a phenomenal job whole the series but this episode is my particular episode is my favorite performance of hers, 9 being a close second.
The doctor wasn't disintegrated in episode 3, he was just SINGED
I see what you did there.
I love how Caleb's face is either happy or sad. But Jacob's face is usually just almost...terror? Man is getting attacked by emotions :D
Yeah, the poor guy's emotion SURGE. Like, that's the only word I can think of to describe it. Massive surges of emotions.
Silco: "How many problems can one girl cause?"
Me, knowing Vi and Jinx are reuniting: "Not as much as two."
"That's too hopeful. Act II is where they set us up for more pain."
I laughed and cried a little inside.
well Act II is basically the build up and arrival at the cross roads if the show is a drama or a tragedy. Of course after watching all episodes we know what it'll actually be
I wasnt prepared for the level of pain this series gave me.
Despite the fact, that Jayce was 100% right, it still breaks my heart every time I rewatch the scene, where Heimerdinger gets kicked out from the council.
yeah, no one wants the people and city to thrive as much as Heimerdinger, his ideas just aren't working anymore unfortunately
ironically Jace's move
SPOILER
saves Heimerdinger's life in the end
@@sveta96533 technically its stated yordle cant really die
@@chongwillson972 well i never played lol so didn't know about it
@@chongwillson972 by age but they can die by force?
"Guns for Hire" by Woodkid is the song that plays when Jinx lights the flare.
I love that moment when the camera is circling Jinx and you see Mylo and Claggor.
gorgeous & heart breaking song…fits perfectly
Jinx uses the same glass and straw to drink the same drink vander has prepared for her at the bar.
They’re so convinced it’s gonna have an happy ending lmao
I think what make Arcane work, even though a lot of the main plot points are fairly common tropes, is that the show created characters who are pretty fully realized across the board, and then lets the characters' decisions drive the plot forward (rather than have the plot railroad character decisions). Sometimes we get what we expected and sometimes we don't, but it nearly always works because we, as viewers, understand the characters and the characters' reactions make sense. The fact that it ALSO looks amazing while doing all of this is just icing on the cake.
The characters act like people. They don't always make the right decisions, don't make dumb decisions they otherwise wouldn't and keep their motivations consistent. It's a masterclass how well it all works.
When she lit the flare, she finally let her guard down and became vulnerable. She has insecurity, guilt, and trauma induced schizophrenia
Viktor is NOT greedy for his life.
He just wants time so that he can help the undercity. He doesn’t want to extend his life for the sake of living longer but instead, he wants time so he can help the undercity before he dies. He is desperately trying to crack hextech to cure diseases like his own, but it’s not driven by his greed to live longer, it’s driven by his will to help people with the same sickness.
It wasn't until Vi said it that I remembered,
In the game,, Jinx's minigun has a name. Pow-pow
Yeah it was a cute easter egg thingie.
Jinx named her gun after the nickname vi gave her.
I cried when i know that 😭😭😭
Wow....that hurts now
@@GOTOSEE9 EVERYTHING JINX RELATED HURTS AFTER WATCHING THIS SHOW🤕😭
The music when she ignites the flare is done by Woodkid. Absolute goosebumps
Heimerdinger is great. Made back when the game didn't have a story and was mostly about playing well-known tropes turned into characters. His design still holds up wonderfully well, the curls in his massive hair is meant to evoke the look of an massive exposed brain.
kinda reminiscent of Einsteins hairdo as well, isn't it?
@@TheKrislaf yeah 100%
Heimer’s original art was literally just a big brain lol
the game still dont have a story, the game is still just "5v5 kill the enemy".
I dont even accept this as a "game adaptation", its a book adaptation from a book based of characters in a game.
The story starts and really only exists outside the game, in the lores written format
until now, that is.
@@podefunder Nah, just a poorly way to draw hair. Old LoL was creepy because of those drawings hahaha
I'm crying on the floor 😭 when I finally understood what Jinx/Powder's tattoo are literally blue smoke calling for her sister.
And Vi's are mechanical because Powder was a tinkering all the time.
I'd argue that _was_ Powder who set the bomb on Chuck's back because if it had been Jinx then he'd be dead.
The mutation must survive... even at the expense of the mutation's quality of life.
Viktor realizes that HE is that mutation. He is the only one with the capability and drive to see progress through, and he is willing to sacrifice his own quality of life - whatever it takes - to see his ambition through.
It's the type of self-sacrifice that can be easily overlooked, or misinterpreted as selfishness, but the poor cripple from the undercity doesn't expect accolades...
This is the first explanation of that bit that I've seen that made sense. It was one of the last bits of the show I didn't have closure for. So... thank you!
The smoke signal sequence is likely top 3 greatest film sequences I've ever seen.
13:39 Nice catch, Caleb. A lot of people were confused, how Vi was able to bring down this construction with a single punch, completely forgetting she just got a small dose of shimmer.
I just thought it was really old and rusty didn't even question it honestly. By your explaination then does silco get a power boost when he gets his eye medication because i always assumed it was so small and for such a specific purpose it wouldn't do any strength modulation.
@@xavmanisdabestest I mean, maybe he does, but I also don't think it's comparable. Silco gets very little dosage of shimmer and he gets it in the eye, while Vi got like a good solid drop of it directly to her digestive system.
nah...Violet can just punch concrete and win
plus Caitlyn was helping out lol
Yea i think it was a mix of shimmer and punches that can hit walls as if it's nothing and also that thing was barely standing up
Caleb: "I want to be hurt, let's go!"
Me: "We got a fella that wants to be hurt. OBLIGE HIM."
Arcane:
9:40 - Silco wanted to lift the undercity up but ended up creating a 2nd, even deeper undercity.
Nah there was a "2nd undercity" before Silko, it just got bigger during his time.
@@saki1333 and at the same time there are some for whom it actually got better. For example the crime lords below Silco who (according to Silco) grew up never smelling the real air of the Undercity
@@6666Imperatorexactly, he cleaned the water and the air. he just views the violent change that shimmer brings about in people as a necessary thing to bring about change for his people. the ends justify the means for him. he doesn’t care about keeping the power out of the hands of his people like heimerdinger, who halts progress in fear of the change it would bring. he doesn’t care how they use it, he just wants them to have it, because he didn’t at one point and knows what it feels like to be powerless
Jayce Episode 4: I could never replace you at the speech
Jayce Episode 6: Literally replaces heimer as the head of the council
Oh man, they're so hopeful for how Vi and Jinx's relationship going forward. Oh man :,)
04:43 Actually there's a lot of Powder in the scene. At the end of episode 2 Vander pours her the same drink into the same special glass he has for her. She's literally making the bartender replay her childhood memories. Which is both sad and worrisome.
When they started huffing and crying at the Guns for Hire/Reunited scene, I felt that in my soul...I ugly cried so many times for this show and it's earned...
I am so happy how excited they are for Viktor's story. He's my favorite character in Arcane and I feel he somewhat gets overlooked in comparison to the more flashy characters.
That running scene tho 🥺😭
@@ladynoluck Don‘t even get me started on the Boat parallels😭😭😭
@@deathray2242 he runs past the boats 😭
Silco just trailing this devil/antichrist imagery when he stands there surrounded by those kneeling addicts, distributing the shimmer with false generosity. So good!
Your analysis, as always, are so thoughtful! and You touch on many points and themes of the show.
it’s not false generosity for him, though. he genuinely thinks that shimmer and the power it brings to the people is a necessary means to the end
I love Jacob's emotion all through out is just plain visible stress
I don't think I've ever stayed for nearly a full hour of just episode discussion on any reaction video before. Your insights are just great to listen to. I was wondering how you guys analyzed stuff so well then I realized Jacob had a novel.
Remember what Heimerdinger said about the Hexcore affecting Viktor.
Yeh, just like world runes affecting the individual
Glooorious evolution
@@lolnoob5015 well he hexcore is void but yes.
Viktor is hearing sweet whispers.
Painting including egg has been done for centuries. It’s called Tempera paint.
I feel like Mylo is singing Guns for hire cause his “spirit” is so expressive in that one shot
it was his assistant! her name is sky and you can hear a kid call "sky" when she runs back in the flashback!
This is really when the show steps up hard, this episode is SO GOOD, had the same reaction when she lights that flare, such a great scene
Odd Taxi replacement poll when?
One of the things I thing a lot of people do both in universe and as fan's is assume Jinx does things for 'no reason'. For example hitting Thiram (chuck!!!) with a paint grenade. Was she just being Crazy Jinx or was she making sure the bar would be empty so that Sevika would have no warning. After all the barman cant be serving drinks with his backside covered in Pink paint. Not in Silco's bar. So Chuck would have had to go change his shirt. Otherwise Sevika would have had forewarning and could have maybe avoided the trap or just told Silco where to find her.
My favourite line "Are you real?", man that hits hard..
Agreed. Poor Powder is so in her own head and surrounded by hallucinations so often that she can't really tell what's real anymore, and it hurts to see.
The look of emotional exhaustion at the end is 100% how I felt after this episode.
The only thing to make this ending scene better is if Jinx had said, "Violet" instead of "Vi" to draw parallels to Ep 3 to show Powder's desperation/vulernablity.
Also, Jinx/Powder has trouble discertaining reality from what is superimposed by her "visions" which is why she asked if Vi was real. The writers made sure to close this loophole by injuring her leg, thereby, once everyone escape Jinx would realize that the events DID happen(not her imagination) because the wound is real.
This show predicts minds. 10 seconds before she ask Vi if she's real I was asking myself is it true or Jinx hallucinating ?
I love how hard that torch lighting scene hit you guys. It’s such a surprising act of faith that you can’t help but be moved by it. And when she drops the gem, hugs Vi, and starts crying…. We were all feeling it.
I just wanna say, you two are an absolute pleasure to watch. You empathize so strongly that a viewer can’t help but get swept up in the feels (again). A lot of guys in particular are afraid to show this level of emotion, so thank you
You can see the emotions on theirs eyes .
The passion and emotions during those huge pivotal moments during the show!! Yesssss you understand! Gained a sub
watching these two bros melt over a sibling relationship really gets me ya know
15:45 They revealed it when Jinx said "Just give the stone to the doctor"
The little girl is his assistant (Sky).
Just when you asked if she was they call her name in the background which is why she turns and leaves
I love the depth of analysis you guys give the characters!
Sooooooo gooooooood
Both this series and you reactions
You are about to witness absolut masterclass in the next 3 episodes. Can't wait to see it!
Do the bros not normally read these comments? Seems like a lot of spoiling going on as to Vi and Jinx's future relationship.
They don't read the comments.

"Heimer knowing how Zaunites are living like shit for centuries", that's ok, it's just matter of time, oh look science, let's focus on that.
Heimer as a character is far from how people elevate him to be.
Tempera paint used to be made (and can still be made) with egg yolk. The yolk is a strong binder that makes the pigments last long and not change much with time. 🥚🎨
Their reunion and the fight afterwards had me in tears but also holding my breath the whole time
Im really hoping they come to understand and appreciate why things at episode 7 happen at episode 7. A part of a fandom really liked to paint Vi's decision at the bridge to be strictly black and white when across the show the decisions are anything but. Ekko made great points that despite Jinx/Powder's life injustices, she deliberately, in the end, chose what happened in episode 7. The show is masterful in creating grayish nuances throughout and hopefully the bros applaud that aspect in episode 7 rather than clinging on to preferred outcomes and biases because as said before, a part of the arcane fandom are too radical with their political stances regarding the whole enforcer issue that they bring in their real life agendas in arcane and thus why they're disappointed with Vi so called "flip-flopping".
I trust the bros... but they are very emotionally invested in the show right now, so I wouldn't be surprised if they get carried away in the moment and don't react in the best way in terms of VI. we already got a little taste of that in episode 3 when they even went so far as to say that "VI had time to process what happened", referring to what happened at the end, which is ridiculous lol
the thing about this show is that it goes deeper than what an animated show (other than comedy or satire) normally goes....
so a lot of people look at it with a very simplistic mentality, which is understandable, but I think by this point, the show has already given more than enough proof that this show rewards you for digging deeper and not staying on the surface... so we'll see.
so true!
These guys have had such a great understanding of how and why things happened, i'm almost certain they're gonna understand her.
same
tbh I don't really understand any divisions on Vi in episode 7. Everything that played out was completely understandable from both her and Jinx considering their circumstances. I have no idea what people are expecting but I hope ppl are not trying to be delusional with a show so humanly written.
Oh, Viktor is willing to do anything, alright. Now as for what, that's uhh... contentious.
It's absolutely hilarious seeing them discuss the future of the show past Vi and Jinx mending their relationship because they think it's likely to happen in the final 3 episodes... oh man they are going to get DESTROYED emotionally
Haha the hiding of tears and their faces on the reunion scene were epic :D
Honestly, I kinda agree with the council on 'retiring' Heim. He IS very smart, wise and has seen a lot of shit that makes him very aware of certain dangers. But the guy's all 'No, don't do that!' and never comes up with suggestions for how to actually fix anything. I think that's something he himself sort of realizes when he goes 'down town'. It seems like he's being confronted with all that misery for the first time and realizing just how bad things actually are and how he failed those people down there
I can see both of your excitement!!! lol. Just in the first minute. lol 14:05 Were definitely powerful emotions experienced. And I also had to power through the moment, and bawled my feelings.
GLORIOUS EVOLUTION!!!
Awesome detail: powders tattoos all over her body are blue flare signals!
Just for a little extra pain, Jinx names all of her weapons, we see this in Act 1 with the grenades she called Mouser, and in game her primary weapon is the mini-gun we see her use in the show (modified for a bit, but still) and she calls it Pow-Pow, you know, Vi’s nickname for her.
So excited to watch you guys react to the next episode~
The paint that uses egg yoke is called Tempera. It's not used much these days :) It was a common paint used before the 1500's. After the 1500's oil paint became the main painting medium.
played league all night and finally got this video before sleep at 10am
I like how vis mindset for this situation is just like 90% of viewers mentality in this show: "im gonna save my sister from the delusions and manipulation from this evil man and then take down his criminal empire so people can regain their freedom (by Goin back to be the enforcers punching bags? ) and everything wil be Allright

Im totally not interfering in a much more complicated trouble that goes beyond good vs evil that is gonna end up in the worst case scenario because i still wanted to believe there was a turning point where there was actually none"
Jacob is such a precious tender little soul 😄
You guys are great :) much love from England
Every 3 episodes emotionally shatters anyone
I haven't finished this series yet, but this episode put an idea in my head, what if the Firelights are Marcus and a group of undercover enforcers?
Arcane: making grown men cry since 2021 :*)
I cannot wait for the rest of these!
Am I the only one who thinks that the only hints of Powder we get, when watching Jinx, is when she's with people who mean something to her? Like... Silco, V in this scene, and (without spoiling) a couple of encounters that will happen in later episodes?
Those seem to be the moments when she is "vulnerable" enough.
Otherwise she is like... unhinged. Unfazed. Harley-quinn-esque "Don't give two flying fucks" (or scary/menacing) type of vibe. Like with Chuck or in Episode 4 when Sevika was all like "YoU wErE SuPpOsEd tO GuArD tHe CaRgO!". Or even Sevika in this very episode, after the emotional low blow she tried to pull.
egg as a paint binder is actually a very old classic way of making paint

When she lit up the flare... That was my exact reaction lmao
POW-POW is the name of Jinx’s small gun and it was also a nickname her sister used and you heard Vi call her that

I will say this Sevika is ballsy.
Maybe it also show how despite being unstable jinx won't hurt her (silco's) people, well... not intentionally at least
Thank you guys
Silco visiting Marcus daughter was pretty scary
I like how they torture themselves to not watch another episode of the banger until they watched other stuff
