At 5:30, is that the moon behind your head? Do you put much value in the moon phase or position? What about the major? Do you find that makes any difference for you?
Watched this recently and have some thoughts, you were fishing weed edges and sometimes right in the weeds, early growth weeds. Up here on the Bay of Quinte, the walleye have changed from open water to weed beds. I have a type of spinner that I use in conjunction with a small piece of night crawler and a small plastic worm trailing from the hook. We also use line counter reels, so we know where we are. From Mid June to end of August, I fish generally in 7-10 feet, sometime 12 feet and have great success, IMOP the line counters help us a LOT. Just my .02
Do you have any issues with them scattering when you drive over them in that shallow of water, or do the weeds give them a sense of comfort to avoid the scatter?
Tom if I'm doing that technique drifting in river current do i have to get my electric trolling motor faster than current a little to get spinner moving and using one hook should i use a piece of worm or full length crawler if I don't use leaches
My boats setup for salmon. On my home walleye lake in wi ten min away it’s really clear with deep weeds and rock I like pulling spinners on boards and downriggers with long leads. Idk why but tanks come off the downriggers prob because I’m presenting the bait at exactly the correct depth since my helix picks up my down rigger ball
Leeches pull through much better. Another tip is don't pull the bait away from them. Run a larger octopus hook so the font hook themselves and just don't move the rod when they bite. Most the time the leech stays on and they just fall off the bait.
Hey Tom, you are brutal :). Keep going with talking and explanation how, where and on what catch a fish. Your channel is one of the best so far i found on youtube (believe me i watching lot of fishing channels).
Great vids. 2 Qs one, the last fish had some bloody damage on the camera side. Have a idea on what caused it? Two, when we troll like this (Minnesota) we can count on several 2-4lbers bass in the mix. Q, do you catch them and cut them out of the vid? Or are the lakes just not popular for bass?
Slow death works better than this on lakes where the water is clearer. But your crawler has to be spinning and it has to be a hook only and no beads or spinners. I don't know what but it's deadly. It wins tournaments. It must mimic bug hatch's or something
Hey Tom, I fish a lot of water with very minimal weed growth in the lakes because they are very turbid as well as a heavy presence of common carp (eastern Nebraska reservoirs). Right now our water temps are hovering around 58-64 degrees depending on the water body, most of the contour changes are very gradual with the fish I have been catching right off the rock jetty's and dams in 5-12 feet of water. But I can't ever seem to locate good schools of fish other than dinks. This only seems to happen once or twice a day I feel like fish are deeper but cant seem to find their midday holds, checked creek channels, any deep structure I can find such as a tree or some gradual humps, 90% of all the lakes an hour away from me are only 14-30 foot deep at max with the majority of the lake being around the 12 foot range. Tried pulling cranks and bottom bounces and jigs with leeches and minnows which I've had some success, what are some things I should focus on to get more bites? 2-5 fish a day is all I can seem to muster on an outing not counting dinks.
Great videos, I like your detailed explanations of the depth finder, rigging, and where to fish. Much better than most fishing videos that just show people catching fish.
Just had a trip up to Northern Michigan, and we killed it with these set-ups. Used a single hook harness for leeches, and 2 to 3 hook harness for crawlers. Walleyes were hitting the crawlers more than the leeches, but had many catches on both.
ive never caught a walleye never really tried due to lack of knowledge but your videos have been teaching me a lot now to just find a good walleye lake I got a cabin in minong not far from hayward do you ever do guide trips
Cool video man. I recently subbed to your channel and your knowledge of walleye is incredible. Quick question, I know it typically depends on where the fish are relating to the bottom and other variables, but what is your standard leader length for a spinner rig? I may have missed that in the video. Thanks!
Another great video. Keep them coming. Very informative and what a captains chair. Would love to share a boat with you sometime in the U.P. of Michigan.
Nice video as always, cool to see a really simple spinner presentation. Maybe do a video on some of the smaller backwoods lakes in the area? That would be cool.
To the point with every detail covered! Thanks for the insight. I usually run bottom bouncers and they pick up a ton of weeds. I will be trying this lindy weight style my next time out! When you say bullet weight you mean the weight for a Texas rig? It would be good also above a swivel. Might try that too. Keep the vids comin!
Great info.
Dang that’s a nice lookin boat
How on earth do you keep the little fish off your bait in that depth. They keep me from attempting that kind of fishing inside 18'.?
I tiey own spinners what color spinners are you using
That chair looks to comfortable
Nice
Dude, that chair is sooo sweet
your Killing it Tom!!
Tha ks man. Thanks for watching
My God that captains chair looks like a recliner. That's the seat I want to fish in.
At 5:30, is that the moon behind your head? Do you put much value in the moon phase or position? What about the major? Do you find that makes any difference for you?
Great videos! My biggest problem is getting through all the smallmouth bass trying to find walleye.

Don't have a boat what kind of advice do you have for bank fishing walleye and where do you get leaches??
How many cracks in that Larson
where do you fish a reservoir that is 25 foot high?
What are your thoughts on your suzuki? What motor problems?
The video is a year old and he was running a 90 hp evinrude, now I see he has a 90 hp Suzuki 0n his own boat with a suzuki kicker
nice chair
Nice video. What kind of boat is that?
Great stuff as always 👍
How do you keep your rig from getting in the weeds?
Not catching weeds. You're not catching fish
Do you have any issues with them scattering when you drive over them in that shallow of water, or do the weeds give them a sense of comfort to avoid the scatter?
Does bottom bouncing and spinner baits work as well at night? In the dark and on stained water? Or would you rather pull cranks?
Great video! My 4 month old son watched it with me, he was glued to it! I've got a young fisherman on my hands 😁
Really well done Tom.
Tom if I'm doing that technique drifting in river current do i have to get my electric trolling motor faster than current a little to get spinner moving and using one hook should i use a piece of worm or full length crawler if I don't use leaches
Water moving against you bait will create more action at a slower speed.

Tom, how do you deal with all the panfish? We run into alot of those when we do this. Thanks!

You’re videos are very informative. I’ve learned a lot from watching them...Thank you sir for what you do.
You know the saying Tom, BOAT stands for, break out another thousand.

Thank you for watching. Looking forward to putting out more content
Are deeper weeds better for walleyes during the day or does it depend on the lake.
All depends on the lake
I figured! Cool vid and Chanel! Put me and my buddy on the Kalin’s jerk minnow

Awesome program..I always look forward to your videos...
What are your thoughts on slow death hooks?

I second this i tie my own with fluorocarbon line about 3 feet long on a swivel and it's dynamite for eyes and giant sunfish and crappies
My buddy and I will be up near there on Scott lake. Is that any good?
All I wanna know is where can I get a seat like that!
Yeah no shit, nice chair

Great videos, I like your detailed explanations of the depth finder, rigging, and where to fish. Much better than most fishing videos that just show people catching fish.
What kind of boat is your loaner?
Great video Tom, what model sunglasses do you have in this video and would you recommend them? Thanks!
How about a review on that chair

Hi Tom. Love the video Iam gonna try it, that seat looks so comfortable,I bet I could fish all day in it, do you know what brand of seat it was?
It's a larson boat. And yes the seat is pretty sick. Tha ks for watching
This video makes me want a better chair in my boat lol
Great vid! That's a heck of a chair/seat in that loaner boat! I'd fall asleep in that thing! haha!
ive never caught a walleye never really tried due to lack of knowledge but your videos have been teaching me a lot now to just find a good walleye lake I got a cabin in minong not far from hayward do you ever do guide trips
He does - www.tomboley.com/
Great Content
Nice vid there Tom. Like always. Looks like a comfy chair you have there! Thanks for the info.
I want that seat for my boat.
We're using this same method in Kansas right now. Its a banger bite! Great video.
Thanks for watching
Everyone is having trouble with these new high-tech four strokes they're just too delicate
I got a 90 Yamaha vmax 4 stroke I run the cheap 87 gas no additives runs like a champ

I like 2ft leaders. We catch hundreds of eyes every year with them. I use 10lb fluro unless there are pikes biting me off then use 20lb fluro
Thanks for the video!! Bummer about the boat but stuff happens.
Another solid video I do this on the Columbia river in shallow 8-12’ in the weeds and we wack em good!
Another great video. Keep them coming. Very informative and what a captains chair. Would love to share a boat with you sometime in the U.P. of Michigan.
Tom you should do a show on red lake MN
Nice video as always, cool to see a really simple spinner presentation.

is that a lazy boy you fishing out of.
I live in Michigan right off of lake Erie you should come out my way
Enjoy your stuff, great presentation, last pickerel released appeared to be injured.
Great video, for the slip bobber would you recommend worms, minnows or leeches
Minnows early and late in season. Leeches early summer. Crawlers mid to late summer
Haha you said a “weed walleye”
Great video love spinner rig fishing in shallow water..
Should have got a Yamaha outboard. Jk Ford Chevy dodge it doesn’t matter.
Great video brother, I have a tackle box full of spinners going to try over the 4th of July in northern Wisconsin also
