This game is super intricate for an Arcade Title: equipment, level-ups, a branching storyline, and a lot of dialogue and cutscenes. This kind of presentation was very rare for arcades, since it meant more time not playing (and dying). On top of that, it's the direct inspiration for the VanillaWare game Dragon's Crown, which is basically a reimagining of Chronicles of Mystara (this game + Tower of Doom).

Both big Red Dragons were susceptible to critical lightning bolt spells, whether from a magic user or a lightning bolt ring. Not sure if it was a glitch, or maybe a deliberate nod to Record of Lodoss Wars when Shooting Star was driven back to his lair after a bolt of lightning struck the ballista he caught between his eyelids.
Minha personagem favorita nesse jogo: competente no combate corpo-a-corpo (embora não como o Fighter), competente com magias (embora não como o Wizard) e a melhor personagem com arco (e suas flechas infinitas).

Got to wonder, was it really hard in the past to animate characters *without* mirroring when they turn side to side? At least *these* days, with 3D graphics, animating a character *without* mirroring is possible, a game by Hunter X is an example of such. That said didn’t know D & D had a side scroller, thought it was mostly RPGs. The voice of the elf was a bit off putting as well.
I hated this game. The game mechanic is all screwed up, because you don't recover HP/MP when you clear a level, and many of the bosses are nigh-impossible to beat unless you exploit a unintuition specific mechanic (which most people did not know before the internet). For example, the beholder is absurdly difficult to beat with one life unless you corner him, then juggle him. The ghost boss is basically impossible to beat with one life, unless you have lots of lightning rings (or lightning spells).

ベルトスクロールアクションが他のゲームに対して余りにも稼げないからねえ。ちょうど鉄拳２やバーチャ２・バーチャロン・KOFが盛り上がってたから余計にね。お店が頑張って4人台を作っても一人がワンコインで2時間もプレイしてたらそりゃあもう。私？シーフで45分くらいかな。4人でやったら1時間半はカタイね。
