Actually, you do have that right when those people who are super rich didn't fucking earn it. They invested it and multiplied it through stocks and capital gains. Meanwhile, people who actually work for every dollar are still poor. It's not theft to take money that is rightfully yours. The money at the top does not belong to them because they didn't earn it.

Yup, lower income people drive the Cadillacs, Mercedes and the Audis...while they rent a home shared by 5 other families. Meanwhile, the middle class neighborhoods are lined with Honda Civics, Toyota SUVs, the not-so flashy cars.

The student with the low GPA hasn't had the opportunities to work as hard for a higher GPA. They'll both graduate with a C...what's not to love!
I've seen that video; it's hilarious. The student-on-the-street interviews on a college campus, where they're all for "redistribution" until the interviewer asks if they'd split their grade point with a lousy student. Of course they're all "No way!! I earned that grade! I worked hard!" 😂
I realized I have watched so much Ben that the adversarial questions have repeated several times over several talks, and it is painful that people continue to ask them.
Hear, hear! Now older, I grew up without the internet, cell phones, CD’s, DVD’s streaming etc. The more you reject socialism/communism and embrace a free market, less people starve, fall ill and die, and prosper and are living a better life. People are free with capitalism and slaves under socialism/communism.
I reject the entire premise of his question: that the "wealth gap" is a bad thing, which is in turn based on the unspoken premise that everyone is entitled to be wealthy, thereby making the circular argument that socialism is moral because socialism is moral. You have a right to what you earn, and you have a right to that which people voluntarily give you, as long as it is theirs to give. Nothing else. Just because Elon Musk has a billion dollars does not mean you get a billion dollars.
Wealth distribution is a scam by those who have done nothing to earn a life or those too young to have started a career, to be paid like those who have worked hard to get where they are today. It is a policy of laziness. Ask how many of those poor if they finished school, got a job, established a stable household. Yep. There you have it.
At 3:46, he's making the exact point in former Sen. Phil Gramm's book, the Myth of American Inequality, which came out last year. He breaks it down and shows that when you count benefits, most poor people are actually lower middle class.
Well said Ben... Stop looking at what everyone else is doing and earning, comparison is the thief of joy! These rich aimless kids & woke professors make me physically ill!
Lets say I earn $900,000 per year. A doctor, lawyer, scienctist, wall street trader. If the average median income is $50,000 I would forcefully donate $850,000 to equitable distributions. The stress of job and hours may have me rethink my work and perhaps next year I fulfill my dreams of being a Starbucks barista. Let someone else donate to me... Aah 👅👏
You will always have someone poorer than you; do you want your money going to those people? Where's the incentive to doing better for yourself if you know it's going to get taken away to fund people who aren't as talented as you, don't work as hard as you, or don't want to get ahead, knowing the better off they are the less money the government will hand out to them. If I were "given" $2000/month, I'm less likely to save for my future (I know I have guaranteed income) and I'm less likely to work harder for a promotion. Look at government housing/benefits. Many are couched behind financial restrictions where the more you earn as an individual, the fewer benefits are handed to you and you have to fund them yourself. What happens? The people receiving the benefits don't do anything to better themselves and that mentality is passed on to the next generation.

Wealth Redistribution. We don't need wealth redistribution simply because that will not address the root cause of the wealth gap to begin with. There are multiple factors to it. IE: Inflation. Inflation does not affect the wealthy like it does the lower and middle classes. If inflation goes up, like it has, the wealthy will be relatively unaffected by it which causes the gap to increase. So the solution to high inflation is not 'just give me more of his money.' And as Ben said, why should I care that there's a wealth gap in the first place? Yes, people are doing better than me. And? No one has ever been able to explain how someone else's wealth affects me directly. And since it doesn't affect me, I DON'T CARE.

Ben was spot on until the cell phone bit. I got a nice phone, but that doesnt offset the fact that houses are 400,000 dollars when boomers bought them for a firm handshake and half a blueberry(inflation adjusted 120k in modern dollars)
Absurd, numerous consumer products are more expensive and numerous consumer products are less expensive. Homes are only more expensive in the downtown cores of major cities because cities have grown dramatically larger inflating the prices of these central locations. People have been complaining about the price of housing my entire life and nobody was snapping them up 60 years ago. People in the 1960's and earlier often didn't buy a home until they got married after years of saving and parental help. The same amount of renters today are the same amount of renters in the past.
@@anthonymorris5084 That is just blatantly false. The age of the average homebuyer was around 24 in the 1980s and now its in the 40s. The reality is that the boomers prevented housing from being built en masse because the less supply of houses, the higher the price they can demand.

I agree the tax system is a nightmare. Especially when one is invested in a public traded company. Yes make the tax code easier but teach college kids to man up and when one is suffering from a negative cash flow situation...it behouves one to take a second job!
So many lies in Ben Shapiro’s response. The wealth gap does matter because the super wealthy fund politicians who in turn make policy decisions that impact middle and lower income families. People aren’t living better than they were in the 1970’s-1980’s when most families were single income households with minimal to no debt and people were able to buy homes in their 20’s. To say things are so much better now for the average American’s wallet goes against his MAGA friends.

I only care about the salary of a ceo of a company i own and depend on dividends There seems to be a contest by CEO to see who has the highest salary that money should be given to owners/shareholders
CEOs do make a LOT of money. BUT, it's not as though they STEAL that money! They are OFFERED that money to take the job and they ACCEPT it ! Exactly like their favorite movies stars like Diniro or DiCaprio. Or their favorite sports stars and music stars. When are the socialism supporters going to start screaming about what Taylor Swift makes???? Now, take the amount of families that have roofs and meals every day because of what the CEO of GE does and compare that to the number of families that Barbara Streisand supports! Who's the a-hole now?????
But he does not realize that there re people for various reasons due a physical or an educational or economic reasons their families who were unable to have Access to the opportunities to raise their income and having to live on low paying job just to have a roof and put food on the table for them and their and having to use Medicaid and other governmental programs to survive.
And the worst are the seniors some have larger social Social Security checks. but there are those who had low paying jobs like retail who are scheduled not many hours they person was unable to collect their enough benefits and are trying to live on incomes like 741.00 a month and can just about pay their bills, but food before the end of the month and there is no money left. And that ids why more than any other groups seniors are depending on things like EBT cards and low income and assistance in paying rent.
You had the same public- school educational opportunities as anyone else. You and your family choose to waste them. Suck up the consequences. Most "disabled" people seem perfectly able to spend all day online or on social media...which is what a desk job is. They're suddenly perfectly healthy as soon as their favorite sci-fi con rolls into town, or it's Black Friday and they want to fight over cheap TVs with their neighbors, or they want to go to their favorite casino. It's miraculous how fast so-called "disabled" people are cured when there's something going on that they really want to do.
It doesnt matter at all where the money comes from. If people are making billions in profit and getting richer by the billions every year, then they are getting too much. That is the bottom line. Noone deserves that kind of money, its in no way justifiable. And noone even NEEDS that much money. There is no way to spend it thats not completely ridiculous and irrational. THAT money HAS to go back to the people. And if you have to tax people over a certain threshold for 95% of their income, then so be it. If they are still making millions, its what has to happen. The government also needs to stop throwing money in the dumpster, that may even be the bigger problem, but its a whole other debate.
If the same system that is allowing someone to accrue that much wealth also allows the poorest people to have a vastly better life, why does it matter if someone is making billions? Clearly that system is good for everyone.
@Doc-Holliday1851 absolute bullshit argument. People are suffering, countless people cant afford basic living, healthcare or work 24/7 and never get to see their children. And people make billions sitting on their Asses doing nothing. If you Support that system go fck yourself.
@@VariiaNobody owes you _anything._ Get off your a§§ and earn your own keep. "People are suffering" because they make stupid choices, waste every opportunity they're given, and feel entitled to have smarter people with better discipline bail them out. "People are suffering" because they: - Dropped out of school and think they already know everything - Took no responsibility for their own fertility and had kids they couldn't afford - Waste opportunities that are handed to them, because they're too lazy - Wait passively to be given free sh while whining about how others owe them a living, instead of looking around for free classes, scholarships, job training, career opportunities - Have addictions and think it's somebody else's job to cure them - Live off never-paid credit because they think they're entitled to the good life, and have no impulse control
It's because you incorrectly believe that these wealthy people keep all of their money in a treasure chest buried in their back yards and only ever spend it on consumer products like giant houses and yachts. The vast majority of wealth is "unrealized wealth" held in shares. The rest is invested across the world in an endless amount of financial institutions who lend it to other people allowing them to start businesses or purchase homes through loans. Everybody benefits. Without wealthy people none of this would exist. None of the products you own would exist. The more billionaires any society has the more successful that entire society becomes, because in capitalisms people have access to all of this wealth. How much money do you think Elon Musk spent to purchase Tesla? If he suffered from your demanded wealth caps, he wouldn't have been able to purchase the company, or even Twitter. When these billionaires can't invest we all lose.
Put a salary cap on CEO, executive salary+bonuses. Such as ... A CEO and executives cannot receive more than 20 times what the lowest earner makes. Say the lowest paid employee makes 20k per year ... The highest paid cannot take home more than 400k. CEO+ salaries+ bonuses are outrageous. And pro athletes too.

Most rich people stay rich by spending like the poor and investing without stopping then most poor people stay poor by spending like the rich yet not investing like the rich but impressing them. People prefer to spend money on liabilities, Rather than investing in assets and be very profitable

And to teach these kids to man up and if needed to take a second job!
I agree the tax system is a nightmare. Especially when one is invested in a public traded company. Yes make the tax code easier but teach college kids to man up and when one is suffering from a negative cash flow situation...it behouves one to take a second job!
I simply do not hear as fast as Shapiro speaks. I like what he says, however, I need to repeat most of his remarks to grasp his intellect.
I'm pretty convinced that Shapiro downs 8 cups of coffee and snorts a pound of cocaine before every speaking engagement. LOL
These idiots cannot function without their phones!!
Typical victim mentality..
This kid just wants money for doing nothing....
Ben should just say "get a job loser".. Peace out mic drop
If you are poor in the USA is your own fault.
That's actually not very nice.
@@femaleKCRoyalsFanBut it is true. Don't like being poor? Make better choices.
The racial wealth gap is not 10%....it is actually 10x. Meaning...white families have, on average, 10x the wealth that black and latino families have. There are a mulitude of reasons for this but a lot of it is the direct result of historical racism and government policies at all levels that explitly favored white people and disadvantaged people of color. The data is easy to find and utterly indisputable..
@@hawhaw4240 and maybe get a job!
That is a bizarre statement. Clearly a kid that doesn't understand business at all.
@@JanetYoung-k5k blah, blah, blah, blah Marxism!!!!!
@@JanetYoung-k5k Maybe the govt should stop sending billions to Ukraine and instead give that money to those people that you speak of.
"People are suffering" because they:
- Dropped out of school and think they already know everything
- Took no responsibility for their own fertility and had kids they couldn't afford
- Waste opportunities that are handed to them, because they're too lazy
- Wait passively to be given free sh while whining about how others owe them a living, instead of looking around for free classes, scholarships, job training, career opportunities
- Have addictions and think it's somebody else's job to cure them
- Live off never-paid credit because they think they're entitled to the good life, and have no impulse control
@@CatWhiskering i do. And noone deserves a Million times more money than i make. Stop licking boots
And pro athletes too.
daretodream...898 : Maybe an Economic 101 course would be if vaue to you. Or a bit of history? Check Richard Nixon's wage & price control. Yes, your position is one of wage control. Result Nixon's move? Big 1973 to 1975 recession, with the 1970s stagflation & messed up floating currencies, etc. If you try such wage control, you won't like it.
*I really appreciate your clear and simple breakdown on financial pitfalls! I lost so much money on stook market but now making around $18k to $21k every week trading different stocks and cryptos*
You work for 40yrs to have $1M in your retirement, meanwhile some people are putting just $10K into trading from just few months ago and now they are multimillionaires
Most rich people stay rich by spending like the poor and investing without stopping then most poor people stay poor by spending like the rich yet not investing like the rich but impressing them. People prefer to spend money on liabilities, Rather than investing in assets and be very profitable
You are so correct! Save, invest and spend for necessities and a few small luxuries relatives to one's total assets ratio.
Waking up every 14th of each month to $210,000 it’s a blessing to I and my family… Big gratitude to Josh Olfert🙌
Hello how do you make such monthly?? I'm a born Christian and sometimes I feel so down 🤦♀️of myself because of low finance but I still believe in God.
