Karen, it is always a pleasure to watch you cook! I love to cook too; it is the thinking of what to make each day that is the hard part. I think about growing up my mother had the lot of us to cook for and you didn't get fast food in those days. She managed to make delicious, hearty varieties and it wasn't always with ground beef. She was something else and I miss her and those times a lot! I am older than you are, but somehow you make me nostalgic for her every time!
@@KarenJonesFoodFamily We actually were a family of 8, but the "baby" came along when I was in high school. She was 3 when I went off to college,. Anyway, enjoy you and your family so much!!
The meat chopper is wonderful, I first got mine from Pampered Chef and my second one from the dollar tree and both are identical except for the price....just thought I would share that! I love listening to you and giving so many helpful tips! Thanks for sharing!
Ms Karen I go to my local butcher and if I buy 10 pounds I get it 90/10% lean I get a fantastic deal on it. Then I take and portion it out for different meals and put it in vacuum seal bags and freeze it. I bought all my meat that way saves money and get better meat.
Hi Karen how's you and hubby, did you're good looking grandson get home ok. You always make such lovely meals and are you starting early for Autumn xx and a big hug ❤❤🇬🇧
Bliss you Karen you're like me I like it warm but not hot. Here in the UK it's not been a good summer but to me it's a blessing love and hugs, by the way I love you're cooking I'm trying you're shrimps at the weekend. Ps keep giving good ideas ❤❤🇬🇧
I am throughly enjoying this video...I love all of your recipes! I am looking forward to your cookbook to come out. I always get very hungry when you cook. Thank you so much for all of your videos!!!
I can’t wait until I retire because this is exactly what I will do. I buy the ground store trim from SaveALot. I will fry up 20-24 lbs. , some I season with taco seasoning , some I season for hot dog chili sauce or sloppy joes and some I leave plain. Putting together some meatloaves would be great. I have a food saver sealer so that will work. Thank you sweetest lady. This is such a smart & helpful video. Love you and Pop . ❤❤❤❤ I would use my air fryer for the meatballs.. I love my air fryer. I ordered the one you showed when you got yours to try out. I actually need a bigger one. I’m with Pop, love meatloaf sandwiches… I’m a coffee drinker and I love homemade iced tea. I use loose leaf tea and use my coffee maker to make it… Pour it over a pitcher of ice , yummy.
Oh dear! What an appropriate posting today. I landed myself in the hospital once again. Everyone said I was missing them' 😂🥲 I have missed you and that incredible Family. I’m happy to be home and enjoying this now! I’m learning from you each time I tune in! Thanks! ♥️🙏🕊✨♥️
Ms Karen I do too and meatloaf to me is better after it’s been frozen and thawed. They just hold together better that way. Salisbury steak & beef stew can be frozen as long as you don’t put potatoes in it. Take the potatoes out. Chili, stuffed bell peppers, meatballs and lasagna are great make ahead meals.I love cooking one big time fixing different things and freezing it for later use. Works great for days when you don’t feel like cooking or very busy days. Love these videos I just found you three days ago and I’ve been binge watching Old videos and I love them. They’re not too long. They’re not too short. They’re great and we cook a lot of things the same way.
Hey Miss Karen...this was great! I like my electric skillet, makes great grilled cheeses...yes I love sloppy Joe's too...I use the sloppy Joe pkt mix, water tomato paste & mix with the hamburger...I put Miracle Whip & onion on mine...I shop at HEB here in Texas...is Piggly Wiggly yalls main grocery store? I agree on the smell of onions & garlic when your cooking, nothing better...and hearing the sizzle in the skillet... I swear your my kind of people, I use those plastic containers plus any empty butter or any other food containers...it must be a Southern thing...ha! Happy Birthday early Pop Jones...ya'll have a good evening
Make ahead stay ahead 😊great idea. I used to cook all day sundays not every week but that was my do ahead day. I worked 40 hours in an office took care of 37 rescued cats me and my husband. I cannot tell a difference between cottage cheese or ricotta in lasagna....my daughter swears she can...lol. It's all good on my taste buds...lol. More great ideas Karen....these meals would come in handy too if someone couldn't cook for themselves for whatever reason....like if they got injured or had to have a procedure or just had a baby....what a relief to have these in the freezer so supper would not be an added stress. Love and Hugs dear lady.
Started this yesterday. Just finished watching. Great idea to make ahead. You spent a lot of time in the kitchen preparing everything, but it really pays off to make so many future meals so convenient to just take out and heat up. Great tips Karen! Hope your hubby has a great birthday 🎉🎊tomorrow 👍😍

Hi, Karen. I ordered the salt and pepper mills last week and am awaiting delivery. I've used battery operated ones in the past and they didn't work well. August 13 is a great day for a celebration! My Hubby and I will be celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary on the 13th!🎉❤ Happy birthday to your Hubby!
Hi Karen... So you keep your can goods outside of the kitchen......and.....what do you mean you keep your flour and sugar some place else? BTW I enjoyed this make ahead video. Thanks.
I keep my extra flour and sugar inside my house in a cabinet I have in the back of my house. This way I'm not trying to crowd my cabinet. I keep current goods in my kitchen.
I make basically the same meatloaf, but adding a can of mushrooms minced (and the liquid) I use cracker crumbs, and add a dash or two of worchestershire. I bake my loaf in a 9"x13" baking dish. While the meatloaf bakes, I saute chopped onion and mushrooms in butter and make an onion/mushroom gravy. One half hour before meatloaf is done, I remove any grease from baking dish, and pour my gravy over the top. Finish baking till done

You don't add bread crumbs to the meatballs?

I don't add bread crumbs to my meatballs but I add to my meatloaf. I use kosher salt in my grinder. 😉❤️
I Crack my egg in a small bowl to make sure they are good and no shells.
