Hi , were actually some australians living further south near that town where you built that Dam on it actually helped us since the dam holds water meaning that if it rains the drainage vanal would still serve a purpose like yesterday which had heavy rain but no flooding , most of the flooding occurs in that canal but because you made a dam there were no floods at all so thank you.
Might want to incorporate a slope on the spillways so as not to undercut the foundation of your dam. This is an excellent example of how to create a dam on a small creek. Thank you for posting this.
I wonder whether you could incorporate this dam's right spillway to a divergence funnel so in idea, the water delivered with some sloping degree added throughout its coarse could definitely be used in another project of your choice.

Very nice spillway. Would there not be an advantage in making it openable all the way to the bottom? It looks like you are going to have a lot of untappable water there.
Excellent work I really like this damn. I was want to build something like this but inspired me was in 97 Resident Evil there's an area where you have to find a a handwheel to do what you did with yours open up a Floodgate so you can get across this pond. I like how you have the spillway and hot has sides on it. Excellent work keep up the great job
It's called a spillway and mass dumping water when you want it to is exactly what a dam is for. Since there is no hydroelectric being generated here if they are using this dam beyond a demonstration for this video its probably to regulate irrigation downstream.

Ok, but what did this prevent? The water still goes over it. The only thing this does it allow you to mass dump water down the path.
