My backyard growing up was just this hill that sloped from the back of the yard down to the house. So my brother and I would leave the back door open and spend literal hours just sitting on a skateboard, rolling from the top of the hill and down into the family room.

I have actually done the window cliché of breaking a window with a twist. I used my head to smash the window. I was using the window ledge to boost my jumping and I slipped, and obliterated the window. I am still suprised I didn't die cause it was one of those ancient, fragile glass things.

My family is a baseball/softball family. I'm 18 and my brother is 14, we had been constantly hitting balls in the backyard for YEARS. Our yard is big, so big that we added a 2-story shop 6ft from the back fence. Both neighbors would let us into their yards if a ball ended up there, so it we never aimed towards the house or the shop.
Well, my brother set up the pitching tent that I had been given when I was a pitcher and he was beginning to become a pitcher too. The net had a number system that hung on it and he was trying to hit one of them, which is fine if it weren't for the fact that the net was right in front of the shop where there were 2 sets of windows. He pitched the ball (mind you everyone else was in the house) and he let the ball go too far to the right, smashing right through a window.
He ran in yelling that it was an accident and our parents weren't mad. My dad's response: "I'm surprised it took this long."
This happened a few months ago and of course he recorded the incident, sending it to his teammates

4:56 bro I've nearly been through this cliché of an event before, lol. On my cousin's birthday, he invited some friends to celebrate with. Since I'm neighbors with my cousins, we decided to play baseball in my backyard. One of us pitched the ball and the second someone hit it, it flew the other direction and nearly hit my backyard windows on the second floor. Since my upstairs bathroom is next to my room. The walls outside are kinda shaped like this 🏠 it kinda sticks out while all the walls are behind it leaving a small blank hardy plank wall outside since that's what the second floor is made out of. The baseball hit that corner almost hitting my window and I almost had a heart attack, lol!

Edit: ‘Lot of y’all askin’ how I broke the windshield of my Aunt’s car, Cousin and I were playing catch with it, and she threw it up in the air, and things went down hill when I wasn’t able to catch it.

I never broke a window as a kid. I was the type who rode bikes and crashed into things. I would try to impress my friends by doing cool tricks I never did before and end up falling on the ground and scraping my knees. I was the one who made a lot of injuries and never really cried about it. It hurt, but I was too busy laughing at my own clumsiness to really process the pain. That or I had a low pain tolerance as a child.
I loved baseball, but my mom was so strict about ball playing that we had to go to the park or a friend's house to play with them.
I was a kid who loved my freedom. Despite my mom telling me to stay at the park, a friend's house or around the neighborhood, I went beyond that. Wherever my wheels could go, I went there. One time as a rode my bike, I found myself at a trail I never seen before. I was like, "well it's just a trail. Let's see how far I can go!" And I followed the trail all the way to maybe a mile from the outskirts of town. I found myself at a place I thought was both awesome and terrifying. I wanted to keep going, but I was pussy when it came to the dark and being far from home. I rode my bike back home before the sun could set, knowing curfew was closing in.
I almost got hit by a car as I rode home. I didn't look both ways and next thing I knew, I hear a loud screech and see a car a few feet from me at the corner of my eye. I just kept going, too afraid to look.
I miss when I was a kid and would go places, not caring about danger and getting lost. I didn't have much friends then, so my adventures were either solo or with my older brother. Those times he was a pussy and didn't like being the woods or at the park for too long. Loser.

I gotta say, that last story with the little brother, and the catapult, reeeeally got a good laugh out of me. Probably bc I have some stories of my own, involving younger siblings that may or may not have gotten hurt over the various years by my actions, or their own. Relatable trauma, makes for entertaining stories.
There is rumor.. A rumor about... Even the name gives me chills today... The Witch of the Woods... They say she lived in a tall treehouse three stories to be exact.. They say if you get too close to her.. She would have stolen your toes and brew them with her boiling waters of her previous victims.. They say she is no longer with us.. But when people come to her house they are greeted with what appears to be wifi on their phones.. Perhaps it could be a sign that she still lingers there and that if you stay any longer she'll steal your toes.. But it's only a rumor.

My dad loved making campfires during mine and my siblings' school camping trips.
He'd always stack the logs like a tent and the fires would be HUGE.
One time, one of them even collapsed.
I think I was in 5th grade and, as my grade were gathered round the campfire, chatting and whatever while we waited for the teachers to do whatever they'd planned for us that night... we heard a LOUD crunch sound.
Everyone stopped whatever they were doing, any conversations halted, as we all looked around, confused as to what made the noise and where it had come from.
Another loud crunch drew our attention to the fire, our all being quiet letting us pinpoint where the sound came from.
Then, one of the logs shifted and,before anyone could do more than register what was about to happen, the whole tower collapsed to one side, sending out a MASSIVE wave of sparks flying everywhere.
Some people understandably screamed at first... but then we were all cheering, because that had actually been really cool.
The teachers didn't even bother with whatever had been planned after.
They knew they weren't going top THAT.

Bruh, my next door neighbor and her husband built this absurdly cool treehouse, with a pully system and a fully enclosed ladder to it. All on top of a pretty rock garden, well-painted shed, remarkably pretty flower garden, statutes and pretty fence. (ALL OF THIS IN THE MIDDLE OF A CITY) They even set up statues in my apartment building's backyard... THERE'S A HUMAN-SIZED SPHINX STATUE in my back yard thanks to them, and I love it. Plus a nice 3-post swing thingy too. There's also a MASSIVE mural on the apartment building wall... I love my next door neighbors creativity!

My house was and still is too small to have a backyard, but my grandparents' house has a ginormous avocado farm that my cousins and I would play in when we were younger.
Just for clarification, here's the lay of the land - Out my grandparents' back door was a pretty big porch that led into the backyard, which had a couple garden patches and a stone wall leading to the avocado trees. The tree field was maybe around 1000 feet in width and length, and was as a slant so it was pretty much just a giant hill. On either side were the neighbor's yards, both about as big but set up more as playground for their children than a farm. On the opposite end from our grandparents' house was an empty field that was blocked off by a giant wire fence.
Now, as children all three sides of the farm intrigued us, but specifically the left neighbor's yard. At the end of the hill the fence had a hole in it that was just big enough for children to crawl through, so my cousins and I would often trespass in that neighbor's yard - nothing serious, we just ran around since there weren't any trees to act as obstacles. Occasionally we'd pester their chickens, but again, nothing harmful. Unfortunately, a handful of years ago a huge storm knocked one of their trees over onto the fence hole, which disallowed us from entering.
Probably the stupidest thing we did was try to scale the fence into the empty field. There was barbed wire on the top (which, now that I think about it, probably should have been a warning sign even as a 10-year-old not to cross) and it was at least 10 feet high. I attempted to climb over, which worked until I got to the barbed wire. Ended up with scars on both arms (which are still embarrassingly visible) and many holes in my clothing.
And now the creepiest thing that happened, on the right neighbor's side. The fence was low and unprotected, and we probably could've been able to climb over, but we were pretty traumatized by our past fence-climbing experience so we never tried.
We were playing by that side of the farm and some guy, who looked really grimy, asked us if we wanted to come over to 'his house' to play. This guy looked and probably was homeless and/or a kidnapper or something, and most definitely didn't live in that house. We knew those neighbors pretty well, and we didn't recognize the guy at all. Luckily we were sensible enough to refuse, and we stayed in the house for the rest of the evening. We didn't see him come into our yard or anything, but it was still weird.
Man, I miss that farm.

Hey if it makes you feel better Becca, when I was 3 and my 1st brother was a newborn, I, sick of hearing him crying, piled a bunch of blankets on his head in order to shut him up. Thank goodness my mom came in when she did or she'd have a crazy phone call with the police.

I am under the full impression that if you haven't tried to kill your sibling once, are you even siblings??? Seriously, majority of people I know seem to have a story. Just thank God for most parents being attentive.
I was a very religious small child and yet I didn't quite understand the full concept of death. One day my mom walked in on me trying to smother my sister at the time with a pillow. She sprung into action and rightfully yelled at me asking what I thought I was trying to do. I looked at her now terrified and said, "Trying to see the angels." We had a very very long talk after that.
Fast forward years later and I am now a big sister to three little sisters. The second to youngest and youngest was found trying to do the same thing but over a different reason. I can't remember if it was over a spat or if one was being obnoxiously loud and the other was trying to quiet them. Either way mom came running in to check and then there was another very long talk that day. Don't know where I was. I think School.
Now we are all adults and as siblings we get into fights like most tend to do. My mother is an only child so she often panics watching us fight meanwhile my dad just knows when to let it happen because he has two brothers himself. We always make up though and we will absolutely pull up on someone who is causing issues for one or the other. Kind of like that, "No body gets to bully my sibling but me."
Dysfunctional? Yes. However I wouldn't ask for better sisters. Drives me crazy sometimes being the oldest, but that is only because I want what is best for them and they are definitely three of the craziest bitches I ever had the privilege of knowing. Not to say they are bad people, just that we have all been through a lot so I wouldn't think of us a delicate flowers.

I had a backyard as a kid that we used to love. It was big, unfenced, there was a small "forest" on one side and the other neighbors had fenced in patios so there was plenty of room to slip between the canal and behind the other houses. Surprisingly no one ever caught us, and I realize now I was probably getting away with a lot more than I thought I was. Still miss that house sometimes.
