Compared to the value of public assets sold to private companies, and which we’re still subsidising, its a drop in the ocean.

Imagine this - a politician that is acknowledging an issue in Scotland, rather than ignoring their complaints for a decade and pretending they aren't trying to breakaway...
I do like this approach but if they want out, it should be their right to do so, the last referendum shouldn't be considered as forever.
I'd just rather they'd let the people of Scotland decide what route they want to take, rather than imposing their vision of "what's best for us" on the country. Whether we vote Labour or not.

Scotland has more voting power per person over the outcome of the UK election (population to number of constituencies) & receives more state funds on hospitals/policing/roads per person (population to pounds received) than any other home nation or (to make fairer) English region.
How are they 'forcing' referendums ? Having another ref was part of their manifesto, which the Scottish people voted for. Hardly undemocratic.

Things were better under Labour, can't blame them for the global crash. At least we had better funding for schools, the NHS and public services to show for the money they spent. There's far too muchin this about attempting to appease less than 5% of the population - Scotland is less than 10% of the UK and less than half of thenm are nationalists. And yet in an attempt to buy them off, which will never work - we end up giving Scotland a far more influential position than it;s population justifies. Scotland has less peope than Yorkshire or London, yet neither of those get the special privileges that would be handed out to Scotland. It's the same mistake as Blair made. He thought creating the devolved government would shut the nationalists up, instead, all it did was give them a platform, they will never be satisfied. It;s like paying off a blackmailer, they just come back for more.
