McDowell on the Front Row with Front Row motorsports. I predicted this on Dale JRs channel and of course my McDowell comments always get ignored. He is going to win a race this year.
That's not how it is now, and champion provisionals were always dumb. Why would you send a small, new team home that is faster just because JJ wants to be in the race? Why would you send a small, new team home, for YEARS, because DW wanted to be in the race with a slow car? Newer isn't always better and sometimes old gets replaced because it wasn't a good idea in the first place. The only time the champion provisional made sense was in the first handful of races IF a past champ was with a decent team and had some bad luck in one of those first few races before the points got established...and he (or Danica if she had ever won a championship...or a race) was running the full schedule.
@@chadchadchadchadchad I understand what you’re saying and I agree with you. I guess my real issue is the charter system. Charter cars can fail tech, skip qualifying and still race, but the small teams have to qualify/race their way in.
@@GASparky217 I agree. The charter systems is not the best, though I do understand team owners wanting a way to build equity in their team via the charter system. Otherwise, they spends tons of money each year to basically break even or have a loss, then if they "sold" their team, all they have to sell is their physical assets... which many are tech-based and become obsolete very quickly. The charter system is anti-competition...just like all the big businesses that claim they love competition, yet pay millions each year for lobbyists to keep competition out of their industry. Seven time chump !! He only won those because of changes to point system. Clearly it shows here that he wasn’t ever that good. Sorry Jim. You couldn’t do Indy so just an average race driver.
