I've never played the final fantasy series, but I've still heard the horror stories of ozma, and now that I look at it, kind of has a lovecraftian feel to it; unusual arbitrary method of finding it, yet it's presence can be chalked up to surrounding events, nonsensical form when you face it, and easily capable of leveling the world if it wanted.
I beat Ozma after numerous attempts and because his AI script is prone to punishing you for preparing against his attacks, I know what I did wrong in my failed attempts but not what I did right in my successful one.
Another honorable mention to rodin in bayonetta 2. One of the toughest optional bosses I've fought. He was hard enough in bayonetta 1 but the devs cracked up the fight a lot for the sequel. And I love it.

So you might have had a rule in place where you can only list one boss per game franchise or something but I definitely think yozora from kh3's Re:Mind DLC should've been on the list. He's a really difficult fight even if you're max level and have fully upgraded keyblades but there's also more factors that make him worse. For one he has a move that steals your keyblade if you get trapped in it, he can steal hp from you (I think), and if you have a kupo coin he can steal that with one of his attacks too
Even if UA-cam had existed, defeating Demi Fiend probably took more than a week. Even almost 20 years later there is still only *one* singular, insanely complex method that's accepted to give you half a chance so probably still more than a week.
What about Faust from The Legend of Dragoon? You can't even access it until you find 50 unmarked items without any way of knowing that they are there, including some that can be impossible to get to if missed. On top of that, once you do fight him he is crazy strong.

I fought all of those Valkyries on normal difficulty and let me tell you, Beating Sigrun after so many deaths was THE most satisfying thing I've done when playing God of War.
You forgot to mention when fighting crawmerax in borderlands 1, you have to shoot those purple spots that are on his back. Destroying those will decrease his health incredibly. The hard part is being able to get a shot on those. Just firing at him won't cut it, you have to shoot those purple dots if you're going to beat him.
I have never ever died to a boss as many times I did with Sigrun in the Give Me God of War difficulty. She is really unpredictable at times and the day I defeated her (well it was months actually) was nothing less than something I wanna shout out in my neighborhood out loud 😂
Ever played the original on Titan? Beating the minotaur lord was awesome, but I didn't finish it because the phase in the Ares fight where you have to protect your family is total bullshit
#9 There was an unmarked quest chain involving giving different gemstones to animals, at the very end, when you gave the diamond to some goat they'd tell give you the power to fight him upclose and personal. From there it was actually pretty easy to beat him with at least Steiner and Freya...you could even use her trance to avoid Meteor with the whole party lol.
The awkward moment when the UA-camr GBG beat sigrum in 48 seconds on hardest difficulty while using his phone as the controller.. but as someone who has died to her more than any other enemy in that game she had it coming
Put it this way for Karstagg. When I fought him, I was SUPER OP. Even a legendary dragon on legendary difficulty was little more than a small nuisance to me. Even the Ebony Warrior took very little effort on my part. I had the strongest weapons and armor possible with the strongest enchantments possible, plus a maxed out conjuration stat with duel soul and summon Dramora lord. So strongest enchanted attack, strongest enchanted defense, and 2 of the strongest possible summon available. There wasn't much that could realistically put up any kind of fight against me. But when I fought Karstagg,I got that feeling of a fresh ass noob wandering into the wrong part of the map for the first time again.

I found Galamoth to be somewhat easy, i had an item equipped and it helped alot. Ozma also, my 1st time i beat him didn't know that "one" character was basically unkillable using it against Ozma.
Killing Ozma was SOOOO satisfying. I'm pretty sure you had to give gems to certain versions of random monsters and find ALL of them to even hit him with a basic attack. Just another component to the fight that really made it difficult.
I would have to say that as a kid, the original Ruby and Emerald weapons from FF7 was so challenging.. but now beating the Queen of the Valkari.. oh boy that was so difficult
Another honorable mention from the souls series would be Darklurker from DS2. As tough as the fight was I actually enjoyed it a lot it remains as one of my favorites.
It's very hard if you go in blind without using thunder or fire. This would be a very good honorable mention since it is a very specific boss that appears out of nowhere if you didn't know beforehand.
It's been quite a while, but I remember fighting Crawmerax. Like everyone, I had trouble at first. Eventually, me and a couple friends would run him until we had a few wins. I got a lucky pistol drop that shot several rounds at once, and coupled with Mordecai's skills, I got to the point where I could one-shot him.
That’s insane. I found a ledge towards the back where he won’t attack you if you crouch. You need a weapon that has bullets that ricochet off walls because when u do this he’ll stand still like he’s waiting for you so you need the ricochet bullets to hit the side of him not facing you. The only problem are his minions. Specifically the worm ones that rush you. They can still attack and if the worm ones hit you they’ll knock you off. Despite that i could usually solo him 80% of the time
I have this problem with tons of games. I always try the hardest difficulty on any game and what that ends up happening is: The hardest difficulty is obviously going to be way to hard, especially if I'm starting a new game, BUT I can't lower the difficulty because then it feels like I'm cheating or missing out because I KNOW the game has more to offer. So I'm just stuck trying to beat a game on it hardest difficulty until I eventually get tired of losing and just stop playing the game entirely. It's a terrible cycle lmao.
The first time you meet Golden Sun's Dullahan (without prior investigating him on internet), you see all your game progress pass right before your eyes.
I am so glad to hear other people had so much difficulty with Sigrun. It took me literal days to beat her after having little to no trouble with several of the Valkyries. Watching her soul float out of dismembered corpse, I breathed the biggest sigh of relief I have ever breathed after a video game boss.
6:15 Bruh I remember Crawmerax was literally impossible when BL1 was hot. I remember you needed to cheese TF out of it to even have a chance at surviving inside the arena, let alone beat it (unless I really was just that bad at the game). The 4 dragons in BL2's Tiny Tina DLC were insane for solo fighting too, and I think you basically needed to cheesing them as well, using the Gunzerker and the healing pistol in that DLC. I know I couldn't see it being possible with any other character, lol. Shouldn't need to cheese a boss just to beat it, and that shit's helped keep me burned out from Borderlands anymore. At least I enjoyed BL3 for a while, but I'm burned out on that one too, since they seemed to make it a lot less enjoyable after updates, just with trying to get great weapons that you need just to have a chance at cheesing typical enemies 🤧
Kingdom hearts could have taken up this entire list yozora > terra armor. Kingdom hearts is not for kids, it's a series for millennials who grow up watching disney.
The hardest Amon for me was the Amon clan where you have to fight four different enemies one right after the other with the four playable characters, meaning you have to have mastered all four in order to survive and beat him All without losing once…Great
Stephen from smt4 apocalypse, yes it's technically a dlc fight but you don't expect to fight him and he is probably the only fight in the series that can beat demi-fiend in terms of difficulty.
The lore is dark... I don't even kid about that. Plus, it's the most convoluted series I've ever come across in gaming. As an example of boss difficulties, there is a secret boss in every game. The game known as Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep has this one boss known as the mysterious figure. To put it simply, take the hardest boss of dark souls and make them human sized. He can spam AOE attacks that can definitely 2 shot you. To do this battle, you have to be atleast level 60 and you need to have certain support abilities as his attacks will definitely hit you and stun lock you into a combo. That fight is VERY fast paced.
Me fighting kaarstag with level 100 destruction fire spells in less than 30 seconds back in 2014: "that was a cool enemy" Didnt even know he was a boss
FINAL FANTASY 9!!!! I'm so happy Ozma was mentioned cuz it feels like it's never talked about it as a hard boss fight. I remember being super high level, having the best weapons and just getting destroyed. I never did beat it.
Dark eater Midir was freaking difficult. A buddy of mine and I took like 30 tries to defeat him. He (friend) died just before the boss died, which left me terrified, but I won.
Of these bosses, I've beat Midir, Osma, and the SOTN boss. I remember using some type of mist type spell against Midir... don't remember why though? Osma was really hard to survive, but wasn't especially tough for a super boss, so if you had some ways to do max damage you could take him out quick. He had like 55k HP. Compared to a lot of FF bosses that have half a million or more, it wasn't much. Off the top of my head I can remember at least two ways I used for max damage, one was some kind of reflect combo using the black mage character, another was Zidane's limit break, I think. As for the Symphony of the night boss, I remember steam rolling all the lategame SOTN bosses, including that one. I don't really think he deserved a place on this list, but maybe I had some especially good weapon I don't remember, lol.

The Valkyrie queen is still the hardest boss I've ever fought. Of course I haven't played many of the hardest bosses in gaming history, but out of the ones I've fought, Sigrun gets the award. It took me hours to beat her, an entire afternoon. I was obsessed with getting the platinum trophy, so giving up wasn't an option. When I finally ripped her wings, I erupted in a scream. I couldn't believe I had done it. I get chills just remembering.
Midir is actually one of the fairest boss in ds3. He never does follow ups so you can easily punish him and recover enough stamina to dodge his next attack. If you stay on his head, you can easily observe his tells. Just roll towards the attack except for the fire which you run away (or to the left when hes flying).
8:30 did anyone at Gameranx actually play the Kingdom hearts games instead of labeling them as "games for kids"? Terra is one of the main protagonists of Birth By Sleep.
Yea seems like it..its sad when people call KH just kids games. :/ Tbh half of the list could be KH secret bosses, Terra isnt the only hard one. Org 13, Unknown /Vanitas from BBS and Yozora from KH3 are all op aswell.. atleast on Critical xd
Seriously, try beating the final boss rush of KH1 at anything less than lvl 75. It's by all mean doable but definitely not for kids. Or Sephiroth in KH 1 or 2
Yes! When I read the title and clicked on this video I immediately thought of Ozma. One of two secret bosses I couldn't beat in the final fantasy series, the other being Penance in FFX international. I feel like Penance should have been in this video, you had to have max luck (255) just to be able to hit the thing.
I had no idea that in SotN, the upside down portion of the castle was meant to be a secret. Or that galamoth was a hard boss. I guess it would depend how much grinding you did and your luck for loot prior. I think it was my 7th or 8th playthrough, I came across the crissaegrim.. it was the last time I played the game because it basically broke the game.
I say this all the time but a lot of the secret bosses in the Kingdom Hearts series are equal to if not harder than anything from the From Software games. Yozora was more difficult than any Dark Souls fight for me.
He forgot to mention the real reason why demi fiend is near impossible to beat is because u have a set number of turns to finish him off before he uses his all confirm KO spell to end the battle. And one of the minions can constantly heal him throughout the battle to prolong the fight
Lingering Will was the one secret boss I refused to beat and it wasnt because of the difficulty. Its because of who is behind that armor: Terra. That scene that plays out where he is telling Sora that he wasnt the one he chose that was referencing BBS and how Terra chose Riku as his Keyblade Predecessor (Aqua chose Kairi and Ventus while he didnt choose Sora personally, his heart found its way to Sora and basically became Soras heart). I felt so bad for Terra once I realized that he was still there in the Keyblade Graveyard and hes still suffering from the consequences of BBS.

Me: *woken up from my nap* "he doesn't mean crawmerax, does he?"
Yup. Yup he did.
Also. No weaknesses? How about the giant glowing weak points? No?
Falco literally does no research. Jake pretty much uses him for his voice only.
Otherwise, He's a PoS.

@@rukitomikutochi8764 thought I was one of the only ones who doesn't like him. He pronounces words hella weird sometimes and just his overall tone of voice gives off an "I don't give a fuck" vibe.
He also said the #1 boss was "The Demi-Friend" (its Demi-Fiend smh). I know he's just a script reader, but he does things like this all the time and it really comes off badly when someone who I'm not even sure plays video games is reading off these videos like he's some relatable gamer. At least do like 2 min research into how to say a name instead of butchering them every other video.
Its even worse when the videos are supposed to be informational and he's trying to educate the viewer, when he doesn't even sound like he knows what he's talking about on the topic.

Ozma was unstoppable until my game glitched and i finally beat him. But it was frustrating

For one he has a move that steals your keyblade if you get trapped in it, he can steal hp from you (I think), and if you have a kupo coin he can steal that with one of his attacks too
Absolute radiance also deserves a mention since you have to beat 41 bosses without dying in the pantheon of hallownest just to reach her
And I bet someone had uploaded a no hit run of these bosses a week after the game came out
Even if UA-cam had existed, defeating Demi Fiend probably took more than a week. Even almost 20 years later there is still only *one* singular, insanely complex method that's accepted to give you half a chance so probably still more than a week.
i can guarantee that is impossible for the demi-friend at least
What about Faust from The Legend of Dragoon? You can't even access it until you find 50 unmarked items without any way of knowing that they are there, including some that can be impossible to get to if missed. On top of that, once you do fight him he is crazy strong.
Ahh the days back when you had great RPGs with several CDs for the Psx *__* Those were the days!

I couldn't beat Sigrun on hard difficulty, after a few hours decided to go down to normal but i felt incomplete

Yep, I think they just mention it for the nostalgia.
