The funny thing about what Taco said about Zero, is that of the 5 classes I've mained or sub-mained, Zero has the most resources for learning. Their discord has tons of stuff, including of course the Zero bible, a google doc guide that's well over 100 pages.
I like Taco but his take on Zero was pretty disingenuous. The class is barely behind Ark on 275+ class population in GMS which is really good considering how many people jumped to Ark when the class was peaking. The discord itself is pretty populated too, (3.3k members at the time of writing) which is actually more than a few other meta/popular classes like Merc, Xenon, AB, etc. They have a very detailed doc on combos and pretty thorough on which skills you need to string with which. Class itself isn't even hard, there are a few bossing strings you learn and that's it. Thanks for trying to reason with him at least, he did seem a little heated out of nowhere
returning player with a fresh 242 bishop a bit over a month in, and i do agree that the power level feels extremely low on a fresh account. i do like how the class feels very hand holdy tho, heals, tp, free stats, and true HS, easiest mobbing you can imagine. solo bossing aint easy but it has enough tools to encourage learning boss mechanics. it does suck seeing lower level high power classes progress early game faster but it is what it is for a support i guess. the being carried with partying aspect is meh too because most people solo until slime so theres not a lot of demand for partying below that
@@davidnguye.n aran link skill doesnt really do much, its mainly for early lvls when you are doing legion, so waiting 6 months for it is pointless. Your legion should be progressed enough in 6months where you wouldnt even need it at that point.

I played maplestory years ago. Recently decided to try out maplestory mobile but not looking to drop loads of money. For someone who’s basically new to the franchise, I’m torn between 2 classes. AB and WA. Which one is better all around? I’m open for a third option but atm I’m enjoying both and not sure which one to focus on more. (Not sure if you tried mobile)
quick note as a Kaiser main, now with new mastery you need CD hat and inner ability skip cooldown so its kind harder if you tryna minmax tbh, but still great as dpm and solid 6min burst
You don't necessarily "need" it. It adds value, but we're not fully reliant around it as majority of our dmg comes from other sources. I think for the purpose of inner ability, we don't need any of the 3 lines as much, majority of players will see great results without any inner done

you have to consider they took multiple letter grades off any class that you cant huff glue and pull up to the boss and hold down 1 button. This list isnt for your use case.

I was a Burning Bishop on a heroic sever and got to 206 before I found she was just too squishy to deal with shards. Was solo so maybe that was the issue but meh.

From what I've seen, it's best to burn your main. If you're worried about min maxing your legion, you can get 260 legion lvs in a few hours (2 lv 130s). Think of the time to lv from 215 - 260 it's way more than a few hours
how come da was only valued at how hard it can be to learn and play and not its damage, origin, etc like every other “difficult” class to play? no hate all love, just curious
cuz its more than just hard, its like a completely different playstyle and you get ultra punished by dying when you mess up. it's a super good main, but not for new ppl or mules
DS is a great main/burn. Trinode difficulty is overstated by most. For a burn, just do lash/impact. And Infernal Concussion if you can for mobbing. Some people hate glide and tap jump. Personally, I love the feel and movement control of gliding. Momentum stopping and direction change is a huge QoL boost once you get used to it. And I actually really prefer double tap jumping because of carpal tunnel in my left arm. It literally cuts the amount of keypresses that I would need for jumps in half and moves it to my much healthier right arm :P I would have done Bucc/AB/Shade/Shad, but I already leveled them to 220. Feels like a waste to not start with a fresh character. Probably going NW
Zero main here: The fact that i dont need potions to heal is S tier on its own Animation canceling is fun af And mobbing is braindead even if you don't oneshot you still kill them quite fast But the best of all is the 30+ second bind its just so satisfying Zero is mainly mustle memory as you play him you automatically discover good bossing combos
i dont think they are gonna boost kain's death blessing since it get boosted while origin is active. (sadly, if somehow it get bossted, strongest class in the game by far.)

Hey can you please help me out? I have 2650 legion and I main a lvl 235 WA at the moment. I have no idea about what to burn. First I was thinking of AB, but this video made me doubt my choice.. I really like battle mage as well. Should I just burn battle mage to use as a (stronger) boss mule and make an AB to 200 in the next 5 days so I can still do that AB event from the start? Or just go for AB and make it 260. I still need one for my link skills.
i wouldnt be thinking about mules at your legion/progression. do you want to continue maining WA? if so, consider burning your WA to get to 260 asap and start 6th job progression, or at least use mag pots and exp coupons to get there asap. if you really want to get a 2nd char progressed to 6th, consider burning the next class youre genuinely interested in

We don't hate DA. We just dont recommend it as a side character you won't put too much effort on, or as a beginner friendly class. I am well aware how strong the class is, in the hands of an experienced player
The Wind Archer explination was amazing & what pushed me over the fence for my hyper burn. I did forget the AB change completely when you guys mentioned it. I do have 1 Question from a wind archer main. -Does the Origin procs trifling wind? As an Adele main I 100% agree with the opinions. Definitely a main class could be a boss mule but does that player want to do that extra effort when other classes can just do it faster & less keys pressed? When yall were talking about plummet weaving no cap i got hyped up because I feel its underrated & Plummet does actually hit thats just me others have opinions & thats fine. I Appreciate the teir list & helped me walked into the Go West update with a ready mindset who im hyper burning.
I hope there are some changes and QoLs coming to Luminous... I love this class and wish I could play it. Mobbing is just god tier but bossing, damage and some outdated mechanics about the class makes it a big no no right now.
Thoughts on solo bossing on hayato? I'm curious what you think about it in party bossing and stuff cuz it seems really interesting to play, but being a "4min" class seems like it would hurt it a lot in solo bossing
Can I also add for Arans that with the lifesteal for legion and Combos orbs for link make this an amazing pick for a first class if you plan to work on other characters after? Lifesteal actually cuts back on using pots for all your other accounts by quite a bit and then its part of the EXP quartet of Aran/Evan/Merc/Zero too. I made another aran for a boss mule, got it to 220 through the event vouchers with NO nodes and the 9th/11th anniversery set up and it was able to blue dot in an nlomien party just HOURS after i got to 200 and 5th job on it, with like 1B funding max, just 4th job carries that hard. Also (back on the main) this can be seen in ursus when im lagging and cant attack the boss so i spam two buttons, adrenaline boost and hunters prey and in only one shot i usually end up with the highest damage out of everyone
you should NOT pick your first level 260 hyperburn off of its legion block and link, especially when the legion block is awful. just run monster tour for like a week and you have infinite potions
idk if the ranking for shade was made considering the rework soon to come (that no one knows for sure beside how it cool it looks how it gonna effect shade dps wise) shades rn are crap dps wise. thier off origin burst is a cancelable channeled skill with low damage % compared to other classes. the origin does no damage by itself but boost your attacking skills by small amount , and beisde the good mobility and the passive survival chance you got 1 long cd ifram that also stops your dps and not contributing dps wise. the benfits to crit and split also create huge lags in party bossing which is annoying everyone (shit game design not a class issue tho) "broken AF " big no . arguably strong shifting to "gets the job done" or top of the tier "need a little help" -shade main

BaM Finishing Blow core gets most of its gain at 1 and becomes marginal, most of the BA is from dark shock surprising and FB is really low. BaM till giga good at all levels though

out of all the options I recommend Bishop. Does everything the other classes you mentioned do but better. More damage, more support, more survivability.
all three are very different in terms of movement. Kaiser has fj and a tp, shade is fj, bam has the best tp in the game. All three are extended burst dpm classes. But I think the similarities end there - play them all to 200 and pick the one that feels best
as a phant main if you dont have legion and link to back it up it struggles it's fun but it's not the best for starting out also for the love of god dont lump me with LoL players XD. Too bad shade and aran got the hero rework
Something that you forget way too often is your prior knowledge. When you talk about new players or, havnt played for year or more returning players, is that they dont have prior knowledge or experience of how maple mechanics work when piloting a toon. Which makes classes that arnt simple or straight forward difficult. When you say 'i was able to do this as a mule' - is no where near the same as a new player. Not to mention you have detailed information from videos, talking about classes with other people etc etc.

the biggest issue with zero being non-main is the 7node 10skill boost node setup, otherwise it's performing alright.

As an Adele main I 100% agree with the opinions. Definitely a main class could be a boss mule but does that player want to do that extra effort when other classes can just do it faster & less keys pressed? When yall were talking about plummet weaving no cap i got hyped up because I feel its underrated & Plummet does actually hit thats just me others have opinions & thats fine.
I Appreciate the teir list & helped me walked into the Go West update with a ready mindset who im hyper burning.

I hope there are some changes and QoLs coming to Luminous... I love this class and wish I could play it. Mobbing is just god tier but bossing, damage and some outdated mechanics about the class makes it a big no no right now.

Thoughts on solo bossing on hayato? I'm curious what you think about it in party bossing and stuff cuz it seems really interesting to play, but being a "4min" class seems like it would hurt it a lot in solo bossing

Can I also add for Arans that with the lifesteal for legion and Combos orbs for link make this an amazing pick for a first class if you plan to work on other characters after? Lifesteal actually cuts back on using pots for all your other accounts by quite a bit and then its part of the EXP quartet of Aran/Evan/Merc/Zero too. I made another aran for a boss mule, got it to 220 through the event vouchers with NO nodes and the 9th/11th anniversery set up and it was able to blue dot in an nlomien party just HOURS after i got to 200 and 5th job on it, with like 1B funding max, just 4th job carries that hard. Also (back on the main) this can be seen in ursus when im lagging and cant attack the boss so i spam two buttons, adrenaline boost and hunters prey and in only one shot i usually end up with the highest damage out of everyone
you should NOT pick your first level 260 hyperburn off of its legion block and link, especially when the legion block is awful. just run monster tour for like a week and you have infinite potions

as a NL 270 9k legion , NL should be lower , damage up time off burst is really really bad cause need to dodge a lot
idk if the ranking for shade was made considering the rework soon to come (that no one knows for sure beside how it cool it looks how it gonna effect shade dps wise)
shades rn are crap dps wise. thier off origin burst is a cancelable channeled skill with low damage % compared to other classes. the origin does no damage by itself but boost your attacking skills by small amount , and beisde the good mobility and the passive survival chance you got 1 long cd ifram that also stops your dps and not contributing dps wise. the benfits to crit and split also create huge lags in party bossing which is annoying everyone (shit game design not a class issue tho)

BaM Finishing Blow core gets most of its gain at 1 and becomes marginal, most of the BA is from dark shock surprising and FB is really low. BaM till giga good at all levels though
man i haven't touch MS a long time and seeing most archer based classes being a high tier is a blessing

Ive got 3k legion right now and currently thinking about burning a main for go west. Im torn between Kaiser, BaM and Shade.. any opinions?
whichever looks coolest to u
out of all the options I recommend Bishop. Does everything the other classes you mentioned do but better. More damage, more support, more survivability.
if youre torn between the 3, then pick BaM
all three are very different in terms of movement. Kaiser has fj and a tp, shade is fj, bam has the best tp in the game. All three are extended burst dpm classes. But I think the similarities end there - play them all to 200 and pick the one that feels best

as a phant main if you dont have legion and link to back it up it struggles it's fun but it's not the best for starting out also for the love of god dont lump me with LoL players XD. Too bad shade and aran got the hero rework

Something that you forget way too often is your prior knowledge. When you talk about new players or, havnt played for year or more returning players, is that they dont have prior knowledge or experience of how maple mechanics work when piloting a toon. Which makes classes that arnt simple or straight forward difficult. When you say 'i was able to do this as a mule' - is no where near the same as a new player. Not to mention you have detailed information from videos, talking about classes with other people etc etc.
Any tier list that doesn't have dawn warrior in S-tier is immediately F-tier
