wow. I cannot believe how many of these puzzle pieces I've put together on my own reasoning and feeling. It's wild to hear someone talk about these musings I've had so succinctly and add onto them so i can learn. This was wonderful.
Be inspired by those you admire. You can become someone you enjoy having around everyday. When we really connect, with compassion and through healing, to ourselves...we have our own back. We are the only constant in our lives. We are the only one who will be present at every moment we experience...therefore learning to love who we are, befriend who we are, is key to peace, and joy.
fear drives one in unrelenting separation from compassion. Mine does, that's for sure. Tara, you always bring me inner peace . . . in the early dark lonely morning . . . thank you so much . . . as soon as I turn my mind to another's suffering and what I can do, some little thing . . . it gets me out of my morning fear. Fear of bodily issues . . . how silly I am
I have one recommendation, I notice that a lot of the guided meditations focus on other people or relationships with other people and I think I often need meditations focused on myself and my internal experiences.
Please look into Kristin Neff's work on self-compassion: self-compassion.org and her book, "Self-Compassion: The Healing Power of Being Kind to Yourself".
Most of how we perceive others, the effect of our relationships with others, is merely a reflection of what we contain within. So, looking at those is powerful.
I know someone who thinks they are tender hearted,.but they are sooooooo angry unconsciously and are actually extremely selfish and mean. I recommend primal screaming in a car, alone, until exhausted. Expect a LOT more screaming, as the decades of rage come out. Don't forget to act constructively on your passions, if and when you are able.
I hear ya.. it's like everything is a giant corporation designed to further entrench and confuse us in into our own suffering rather than an actual helpful way out, if I'm hearing you correctly. I'm sensing there can seem to be no light at the end of the tunnel with people only giving lip service and no solutions, because in life when we need self care the most is when we don't do it, or want to do it and this adds up until the weight is unbearable...yet our ability to just keep going is precious and eternal, so keep trying to remember that, keep trying to notice your precious and eternal being, and live whatever life is left for you, this rare life, even when it is impossible, especially when it is impossible. Practice and find support, and don't give up so you can find one good day.
“ How we open our hearts in groups towards each other”. Serbian & Bosnian eg. Where’s the US acknowledgement (edit) of its’ part in creating that war & others on an ongoing basis around the world since WWII? Americans really don’t get how much havoc & destruction you’ve caused do you? Stay out of the affairs of other sovereign counties, stop sending your military to justify your own need to fuel your military industrial complex & fossil fuel based economy,, no one respects your denial, the world is no longer unipolar. Tara hve had some real support for my practise from your talks for many years, but your veiled respect fo US military & omission of this elephant in the living room, means you’re leaving out a huge swath of audience.
Not saying that America is perfect or has always responded or intervened correctly but imagine how the world would be less free, more violent, less hopeful that right will prevail over might or that individual freedom is valued if America had never been born and developed. Of all the countries in the world, you identify America as a primary culprit rather than Russia, China or Iran? Meditate on that!
It’s so awesome to hear Tara underscore her own “what’s it like being you”

You have her in your life!
This 'me' you speak of is an illusion and if you become a friend to it, you'll be like Tara ❤

The jokes are great comic relief from the intensity of these amazing talks 🙏🏾

What’s it like being you? Self focused? Listen to the message, it’s really about you.

If your liberation is tied to mine, let's work together.
Don't use the phrase "breaking your back" if you want to have a healthy back. Your body is listening.
