I enjoyed the glory days of Colorado when the economy sucked and America knew of it as a place where blizzards stranded travelers at Stapleton. By the late 1990s it was paradise lost.
We moved near Colfax by Bluebird theatre in 1991 & it was much different. The theatre was still closed & boarded up. Some People were kind of judgy that my mom would move us there as it was ‘dangerous’. A few years ago one of them who thought that said we showed them as no ones house costs as much as hers & or live in a trendy area. The houses are going for over a million
I went to a bar like one time and one time only around Denver, and I think it was right there on Colfax. Some guy had a rifle in there, he pointed it right at me. It was bizarre. The bartender / owner obviously allowed him to have a rifle in there and point it at customers.
Its not the same anymore, I moved there in 84 and had to leave in 07, very sad day leaving but now I am so glad I don't live there anymore, went back a few years ago for a Broncos game and like mentioned it is a mini California, way to liberal/overpriced now and I cant stand the smell of pot 24/7.
Man this was cool to watch. Pete’s kitchen is still cooking to this day!!

I remember that old White Spot restaurant, long gone. Was like walking into the Twilight Zone.
Forty years later I still regret spending any time there.

Sure looks better then than it does now.
aww, how sad, another old fart who never developed resilience in the face of inevitable change. Life is change, sport; learn or go under.
East Colfax is still a place only the very brave or very stupid would go for a stroll.
Too bad that german lady aint still around to throw water on hippies. Colfax could sure use it these days

Why? Apartment rent and home prices have skyrocketed.
It is utter shit now! And I am a Native still living here. Nothing but out of towners, barely any Colorado natives. Pretty much California now.
