I went to a bar like one time and one time only around Denver, and I think it was right there on Colfax. Some guy had a rifle in there, he pointed it right at me. It was bizarre. The bartender / owner obviously allowed him to have a rifle in there and point it at customers.

So MUCH better off without Diversity, Got It 😜

We moved near Colfax by Bluebird theatre in 1991 & it was much different. The theatre was still closed & boarded up. Some People were kind of judgy that my mom would move us there as it was ‘dangerous’. A few years ago one of them who thought that said we showed them as no ones house costs as much as hers & or live in a trendy area. The houses are going for over a million

Epic fail

East Colfax is still a place only the very brave or very stupid would go for a stroll.

East Colfax is just as bad as it was in the 80's. Only real difference is the addition of more streetlights. Crime, drugs and homelessness are still there and still on the rise.

I spent a few evenings there back in 1963 while stationed at Lowery to go thru tech school. It was a little pricey for us but I could get in while I was still 18!

I went dancing there most weekrnds in 1065 Loved it. George Jones was one of the performers at the time.

Man this was cool to watch. Pete’s kitchen is still cooking to this day!!

I enjoyed the glory days of Colorado when the economy sucked and America knew of it as a place where blizzards stranded travelers at Stapleton. By the late 1990s it was paradise lost.

Was just there recently and loved the batman and robin sign. Also the sign of the lady diving into a pool. I use to see that sign as a kid when my parents were driving through KY of the night. Wonder if its the same one?

I used to pick up my papers for my paper route (about 1966 or so?) in a garage right behind DBD. Ate more than my share of applesauce and chocolate donuts. Great memories

What an outrage. Walgreens did the same thing in my city: Cincinnati, OH. They bought up and razed an entire block within a historic district to build a store with drive thru. I have not shopped there since.
