Walt Disney World Vlog - Day 1 ✨ Super excited Travel Day to Orlando! | Lisa Preece

- Welcome to the first instalment in my Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line travel vlog series from August and September 2018! In this video, we travel from London Gatwick to Orlando airport with Virgin Atlantic. We take the Magic Express to Disney World and our resort, which is Disney's Pop Century.
We started the day at the Premiere Inn Gatwick North, then got a few drinks in Wetherspoons, and boarded our direct flight to Florida.
The plane food was good for once, and the service was great. The flight seemed to take ages, and then immigration was another hour! Eventually we made it through to the monorail and the rest of the terminal. Getting the Magical Express was a breeze, and soon we were going under the iconic Disney World sign!
Checking in at Pop Century was not nearly so breezy and we were all really disappointed. For some reason, because we had paid from the UK (even though we paid in full in dollars) our reservation had to be cancelled and made again. I still don't understand what the problem was! After nearly an hour of waiting at the check in desk, we finally walked over to the room and none of the magic bands worked. So mum and I had to rush back over to get those fixed... Add in long queues at the food court to get my chicken nuggets after an incredibly long day and tensions were running high!
Nothing helps like a good sleep, though, and the new beds at Pop Century were super comfy. Plus the room, once we got it, was lovely!

What an eventful travel day LOL! I once got the Mears Coach bus as well, so I understand how disappointing that can be. I felt better once I boarded the bus because it still felt like Disney :)

It was quite a bit hotter than I was expected. Rain most days in the afternoon, but not all of them. No hurricanes, though that is completely random!
Good vlog... I'm taking my kids over in just 4 days time, can't wait it will be my kids first holiday over there we have booked for the Mickey's not so scary Halloween party. 👍

I love Art of Animation! I've visited but never stayed there, so that would be great to do one day. I hope you enjoyed your trip! I bet it was even hotter than when we were there, though!
@@LisaPreece It was very hot compared to UK wether! It was good thanks...the lion kind themed room was amazing! We had a little walk over to pop century and it looks like a really nice resort. I really miss Disney but It is the trip of a lifetime. Definitely worth the 9 hour flight!
Wow the Lion King rooms sounds so good! I guess Pop is kind of similar with the big statues, but Art of Animation is so much newer and better themed (in my opinion)! Same here - the flight is so long, but so worth it

Lisa Preece, it’s “British” without the “T” 😁 I’ve heard it pronounced that way in the past, I just used that as a generic accent example.
We go to Disneyland every year for the Halloween party. This year, we’re also going to Orlando for their Christmas party which they don’t do in California for some reason. Candy and cookies, WOO HOO! It will be neat to compare the two parties. I’m anticipating LOTS of fun 👍

You are the second Vlogger that I saw have problems with the locks at Pop Century around the time you were there. hope this is not a trend.
Oh really! That's not a good sign. Our bands at Port Orleans were also temperamental but at least we always got in eventually! These flashed red, so definitely not programmed correctly to start with

I thought exactly the same! Ended up having pulled pork with mash and beans! Such a random combo but it tasted better than it sounded haha
Lisa Preece I had that too! The Boston baked beans weren’t very nice though. The worst thing about the flight back was the smell of the cheese croissant, made me feel a bit sick 🤒
That happened to me, the meals were really nice when we went out there but gross on the way back not sure why 😬
