The 9622 listed no options available when it was produced in the late 1990s. There were however 2 unused "blanks" but they were on the top rear duplex row. There are no strobe outlets left and generally Whelen didn't allow for "halogen over halogen" in duplex bars. ‪@doranbaltus‬ left a comment on my previous video saying he had one with flashers in this "empty" location. This video explores me adding that feature.

Red/Blue filters have been found and a new video will be up soon! Thanks for the suggestions.

Love the added halogen flashers! I 100% want to do this setup in my stock 9622 (has no TA/duplex halogen flashers at all, just the two MicroMax heads in the rear)

Thanks for the shoutout! I think you did an excellent job determining which patterns to use, and I agree with your rationale behind each of them. I'm intending to do something similar with mine, only with colored red/blue flashers. That should be its own challenge to figure out with the traffic advisor. Sidenote: it's ironic that I've had my 9622 bar almost the longest out of any in my collection, but still haven't made a video because parts keep breaking/I need to switch up the lenses. But all in good time!

If you can find some red/blue filters with the tabs intact (halogen mounting vs. strobe), I'd love to get them. I wanted to do this project with red/blue but I came up empty unfortunately.

I really love the 9622 with the additional amber rear flashers. Quite possibly one of my favorites of your builds!

I would have made the top flashers red and blue so the amber flashers don’t take away or make the arrow confusing

I will probably do that when I get ahold of some NOS filters. So far haven't had any luck. If you see any hit me up.

John, I had one of these on my patrol car years ago and had all blue filters across the top and amber filters below, the flashers just ping ponged single flashed and it worked great. (It was factory and ordered from Galls then installed on a new 2003 Ford CVI.) Btw, I’ll get it out of the storage one day and post some vid, cause I snagged it, off the car when they took it out of service 😉

My hometown (before they switched to LED lightbars) had the Whelen Duplex bars. They had the amber traffic advisor on the lower level, but they also had halogen red and blues stacked in the upper level.

I think if you were able to find red blue covers instead of camber you’d have a more effective warning panel
Or if you moved the red blue strobes from the inner position to where the amber flashers are and the amber flashers to where the strobes are could be interesting

Someone has an addiction to flashy colored lights lol

Having them be part of the arrow just looks cool IMO. I feel like the single flash warn mode does look better with the double flash, less of an all out cacophony. I wonder how this would look on the side of the road while trying to use actually use a pattern on the arrow stick, if it detracts from it any., it might not, either way it looks cool.

I'm torn still honestly, I think making the flashers red/blue would help (looking for filters). One thing that might be a factor is if the arrow control you used had less patterns. This one is period correct so it has 4 dip switches to choose arrow style.

@@elightbars that probably would help quite a lot, it would help the arrow contrast and there already is a decent amount of amber on the bar.

Personally, i would put red/blue filters on the flashers. It would help differentiate them from the arrow. Now... with that being said? I would use a relay to turn of the flashers when the arrow was in use for a clear and uncluttered arrow signal, which when using the arrow itself, should be the PRIMARY message to approaching drivers. Just my $.02

I agree with this. I immediately thought the upper halogens should be red/blue. You already have amber flashers down below.

Red/Blue would be better, I have had a hard time finding them. I am still looking, I'm sure they will turn up eventually.

The flashers can be set to turn off with the arrow being activated, I would likely do that if it were in service on a vehicle. For the purpose of the video I wanted to show both.
