    ➤Dyson Sphere Program Info:
    Dyson Sphere Program is a sci-fi simulation game with space, adventure, exploration and factory automation elements where you can build your own galactic industrial empire from scratch.
    In the distant future, the power of science and technology has ushered a new age to the human race. Space and time have become irrelevant thanks to virtual reality. A new kind of supercomputer has been developed - a machine whose superior artificial intelligence and computing capability will push humanity even further. There is only one problem: there isn’t enough energy in the whole planet to feed this machine.
    You are a space engineer in charge of a project launched by the space alliance COSMO, tasked with a massive undertaking: constructing Dyson Spheres (a megastructure that would orbit around a star, harnessing all its power and energy) to produce the energy that humanity needs. Only a few decades ago, Dyson Spheres were considered a hypothetical, impossible invention - but now it’s in your hands… Will you be able to turn a backwater space workshop into a galaxy-wide industrial production empire?
    Neutron stars, white dwarfs, red giants, gaseous and rocky planets… There is a big and varied universe out there, waiting for you to gather all its resources.
    Every playthrough will be unique: your universe will be procedurally generated every time you start a new game. There will be different types and distribution of stars, planets and resources. Will you manage to thrive and build your Spheres, no matter what the universe throws at you?
    As a space engineer, you are expected to design your interstellar factory and production lines, not to micromanage every small package going back and forth. You have to transport materials from one planet to another, forming interstellar transport teams that gather resources and bring them to where they are needed.
    Then, your resources can be transported between facilities through conveyor belts, and you’ve got the technology to help your buildings fit the grid automatically during the construction process. You’ve got the best tools COSMO can afford to build a massive-scale automated production line - the most efficient one ever seen in the universe!
    - Build a galactic industrial empire from scratch: start with a small workshop and improve it until it spans the whole galaxy
    - Develop your very own Dyson Spheres, a megastructure that orbits around a star harnessing all its power and energy, from the first screw to its completion
    Explore a vast universe procedurally generated with all kinds of celestial bodies: neutron stars, white dwarfs, red giants…
    - Gather resources in planets of all types: ocean, lava, desert, frozen, gaseous planets…
    Research new technologies to improve your factories… and discover the secrets of the universe
    Build mechasto fly, sail or jump through outer space and alien planets
    - Transport materials across the galaxy to your facilities: thousands of transport ships will flow endlessly to your factories and back!
    - Design the most efficient automated factory and production line
    Customize your factory and Dyson Sphere to make it unique
    - Design a balanced power network capable of producing energy in all kinds of power plants like wind turbines, artificial stars, etc.

      Nilaus has some videos with some good tricks. A good one is that he works on units per-second, so say it takes eight seconds to produce one component he make them in blocks of eight of them. He also reserves the fifth slot of logistics stations for warper for remote supply.

    Looks brilliant! FYI Unless you’re charging vessels your interstellar logistics won’t need power. Vessels from the other logistics towers on your ‘home’ planet will travel there to get the supplies no problem. Saves worrying about lots of power on the other planets.

    The second you hit Insterplanetary and interstellar logistics, the need for a main bus entirely disappears. There are way too many items that need to be produced on a consistent basis for a main bus to be effective longterm. This is especially true once you begin to upgrade the amount of items the logistics ships can hold and their speed. A main bus at that point becomes a bottleneck and will only hamper you in the endgame (especially when you start trying to ramp up green and white science).

    • @przemekkozlowski7835
      @przemekkozlowski7835 3 роки тому +1

      Once you start building the Dyson Sphere and white science, you pretty much have to switch to a hub system. You are shipping your raw materials from other star systems need to outsource a lot of the production to other planets. All my magnetic coil production is now done off-planet as is most of my primary smelting.

  • @coffeeandkhaos

    This system is unnecessarily bottlenecked to 30 items a second per line over distance, a logistics station instantly increases this thoroughly both locally and globally

    • @peterpike
      @peterpike 3 роки тому +1

      Correct. You can run lines directly from the miner into a logistics tower without worrying about sorters, so they run at full belt speed, and you just need enough miners to get a full belt (or more) into the tower at one time. But even if you can't get the original tower filled, you can have enough iron ore towers around the various mines that when you begin to produce iron plates, you can always guarantee that iron plate tower will have a full belt worth of ore since it's drawing ore from whatever is available in your entire network, not just at one specific miner. This lets you set up your production with exactly the amount of smelters, assemblers, etc. you need for maximum efficiency given your fastest belt speed without having to worry about balancing the miners you've got, or the initial ore towers.

  • @TheGhostAvatar
    @TheGhostAvatar 3 роки тому +1

    The Tesla Towers can go in between the constructors (doesn't work with smelters). Even if you butt them right up next to each other. Saves you a bit more space.

    Biffa, one thing you could add here is a storage unit at each production line, before you add that line to the main bus. This way, you create a buffer for all items. Did this on my build and it also enables you to grab items from the storages for some manual crafting action.

  • @asjyk

    Assemblers have a gap in between them when you place them down. You can fit power poles there if you want to tighten everything a little more.
    Assemblers can share the belts more for input and output. You know for your engines, you have 3 belts for input but you use only 1 side for assemblers. Leave some gap for another line of assemblers and output line for future expansion. You can have one output line doing sort of a U turn around the assemblers. (You will need a lot of engines soon.)
    I can't remember if you set up automation for belts and sorters, but having blue belts with green sorters worked best for me. If you continue this bus, consider upgrading them before expanding too much.

    Love it. I've set one up around the north pole area of my starting planet.
    You can run the lines side by side up to 6 wide with a single gap and use the sorters to grab/drop up to 3 lines away.
    Also, if you make the lines complete loops then you can do "mixed" main buses with filters to pick off the items that you want. It's potentially possible to run just one line with every item on it (you may need two - one feed and one return - I need to spend a little longer playing with this idea to see if it works). The trick is to build a system to rebalance the lines and avoid one underutilised component from taking over the line. It's not easy, but I've got it to work.
    If you like totally unnecessary over-building, you should see what I've made. Every single type of building I can make (I've got all tech up to Yellow cubes and some Purple too) all being produced in the polar region and available within "arm's length" of my Mecha. And all fed by just seven lines (7 x 3 = 21 inputs).
    I was hoping to upload a picture of it here, but it seems that UA-cam doesn't allow this.

    I haven't played Factorio, but I was thinking "I need a whole lot of stuff to manufacture super-magnetic rings, but how the hell am I going to get everything to where it needs to go without running belts just about everywhere?" This solves that problem, espeicially when access to planetary/interplanetary logistics hasn't been researched yet.

  • @Deadalot1
    @Deadalot1 3 роки тому

    Good stuff, Biffa! A thought occurred to me, and I want to share it before it dies of loneliness.
    When you need three items to construct a fourth, you can run two input lines down one side (call it A) and have the third come down the other side (call it B). Then have the output product run up a line on the outside on side B. I just think it looks tidier that way. Your mileage may vary.
    PS - When I'm constructing main bus lines I run the feed out a bit, but I leave a gap between the splitter and the next segment of line. That way I'm not constantly filling up my inventory when I have to delete lines to add the next set of splitters. Just connect them as you go along.

      The best thing I ever did in DSP was automate planetary logistic stations. No worrying about real estate near main lines, just plop a planetary station at one end to call in the goods and another at the other end to receive them for recipes with more than one component. Absolute quantum leap in scaling up production.

    You don't need a main bus in dyson sphere. This video is actually bad advice because it blocks your progress later in the game when you really need a lot of production. The only way to do that is making logistics stations with some input, do the lines there to your assemblers and smelters and then to the logistics station again (or a different one if its full). Then the only thing you need to do is have a supply to the station and a demand somewhere else. This also allows you to duplicate the lines quite easily and it doesn't matter where stuff is coming from.
    On your additional planets the only thing you need is harvesting resources and sending it to your main base.
    What this system of belts is doing is limiting the amount of goods you can send to your production lines because you get gaps where items were taken and they are never refilled down the line. I'm already up to 120 iron smelters and many for the other materials that you simply cannot connect up like this. So when starting the game, go for logistics stations first and setup your system to take full advantage of drones and ships to transport your goods because thats way faster than belts. Your production needs way more than what Biffa is setting up. I'm consuming 6000 iron per minute and the rest isn't much less

    • @BiffaPlaysStrategy
      @BiffaPlaysStrategy  3 роки тому +2

      I said in the video at least 10 times you don't NEED to do this. But you can if you enjoy fun (!). You can also hook up as many planetary/inter planetary logistics things to it as you wish for input/output of any item. So best of both worlds ;-)

    I've got to assume this way of placing the splitters next to each other is a bug. Not a "this will get patched and you won't be able to build these anymore".
    Rather a "you're supposed to just be able to do this" bug so when it's fixed making these busses will be MUCH easier cause you won't have to delete all the things every time you tap into it. Just looking at the vertical splitters, there's NO reason you shouldn't be able to place them next to one another, so I think due to the way they've got it set up it's just sharing one hit box and they've not gotten around to changing them yet. Hopefully that'll be fixed soon after they finish their vacation (which they deserved for sure, this game is fantastic in such a short amount of time being live).

      Two more things for you Biffa -
      1) If you click on the last item of a conveyor belt you can just start clicking the item in the box to pick it up off the line.
      2) If you had moved your logistics terminal 1 down you could have had 1 going on the west side, 3 on the south side, and 1 one the east side. To help be perfectly balanced and all.

    Compared to factorio in DSP most of fhe main ressources are not needed later. Being lategame, you get so many different ressources, naterials and so on, it will every time chaotic and a mainbus will be just a waste of space. In fact, later you need so much ressources, so you need 6 or more lanes iron, copper and so on to produce enough for the rest of the production lane and you just build so much offsite. Without all the drones and Ships you get lost.

  • @7ninjasstudios808
    @7ninjasstudios808 3 роки тому

    I dosomething similar but I also add in a Storage Box next tot he Splitter there they get added to the Main bus, and I filter some of the units into the storage (things like Engines need far more than the belts will hold). When I need to add them to the belts, I add an output sorter to the Storage and then units start going in /out at 1:1 so basically the storage keeps holding what it holds but doesn't get more full. Then I can grab if I need or just let the bus do its thing

  • @RingwelskiJacek

    Biggest issue with bus lines is the track limit of 30/sec. There is no way that is sufficient for mid game much less end game. I set up iron smelters with 180 per second throughput. 6 lines out of raw iron 6 lines in of refined iron, hooked to interplanetary towers. I currently have 3 of these setup to keep up with my current demand.
    Reason I take raw and deposit refined into the same tower is its impossible to keep up with the raw requirements for more then 180 per second usage. A tower can only hold 10k max.

    Oh jeezuz I wish *_I'D_* started with a neighboring moon with a ton of iron to exploit! I've constantly got problems keeping the iron flowing so I can have a steady supply of warp fuel. Like to the point where I had to hit I think 3 systems now to start freighting it in - quickly if possible, but usually slowly because I burn through warpers faster than I can crank them out. No shortage of Fire Ice, Hydrogen, or Deuterium at least though, and one neigboring system (like 4 or 5 LY) has sulfuric acid oceans which is WAY better than manufacturing the crap, even on slow freighters. I have yet to have a near-polar circle of 60 combustion power plants cooking hydrogen not be enough for any of my planets, rendering the solar ring obsolete and freeing up that nice clean equatorial real estate for factory rows.
    As an aside I like to have 6 star ports on a planet, one on each pole and then four on the equator and meridian intersections. And a few more for extra local usefulness on my home planet, which I deliberately picked a seed with a cluster with a good star distribution around the center star so there's no stars too far flung out.

    I made a different style of megabus and it works . 45° north around the planet belt stacks of 14 for resources . Then made a space for 6 machines, then another (3 to 14 of height) 12 belt stack . With 4 of these i can produce every building, useful stuffs . I used mini storage containers for vertical transport( it allows 14 belts height only , otherwise it will be spaghetti. ) and for these made sure to use satellite energy transmission because tesla towers cant energies sorters after 7 height belt. When i see emptiness in belts , i feed these belts with logistic towers , then produce (for exp. electromagnetic turbine, microchip) somewhere empty in the planet combining logistic towers and mini buses dedicated to product i need . Then south pole i put interstellar towers . Planet demands only main resources and can supply everything with full logistic (warpers)
    I write this because game needs something like that .

    Have you experimented with stacking the splitters on top of each other? Like for the iron line have the two lines on top of each other at +1 and +2 heights going into a piled up splitter, you would have room for a third input on +3 and can still draw from +0. Internally it should do the load balancing so you wouldn’t need that little loop.

  • @raelynne79

    I considered using the splitter for this (fastest possible distribution of materials), but I'd built the "bus" too tightly at that stage of the game, so I opted for sorters instead. Slower, but more compact.
    It's much easier to make a compact main bus in Factorio because the splitter and tunnel are quite small.

    Thinking of this when there's a hundred separate lines in the future...
    What if you reverse the order; lower belts are the main feed and the upper belts are the capillaries feeding the stamp machines? That way you wouldn't have to keep destroying the main line every time you added a new production line? Too, a splitter every X spaces along the line for future production?

    The bus system looks very cool indeed! I wonder if u could trim it a bit by using just one line for iron and copper plates since the second one isnt needed for anything?

    • @ngreis1979
      @ngreis1979 3 роки тому +1

      The second line is to compensate when you pull from de first line.
      The belt carrys 6, 12 or 30 items per second, if you pull from the belt, you get 3, 6, 15 per second on each belt.
      In this way you can get 2 full lines out of the bus before you have to connect one more line to it, somewere down the bus.
      Hence you connect both toguether in the back points of the splitters.
      ;)

      @@ngreis1979 and you have to keep these numbers in mind because you're hoping for a constant running factory, not one that is idle. Cause yeah, if you get an idle factory, only one belt is needed as that belt will eventually get full again.

    • @ngreis1979
      @ngreis1979 3 роки тому +1

      @@eeveelutions24 Correct, althou its hard to run at max capacity all the time, somewere, something will fill, or bottle neck, at some point.
      Unless you build every single thing at perfect ratio, it will happen :D
      i would say 2 lines for all iron needs is small, its ok until you unlock Logistic network, after that, the bus concept, kinda fades out with the anywere deliveries the LN provides.
      Even on a new planet, you just put up LGN on all the places that ate needed and go on to the next planet.

  • @sh-hatman

    By copying MrRobotic you're also repeating his mistakes mate. For instance there is no reason to make that little loop-back with the output lane. Realise that every splitter entrance can also be an exit. Just place the splitters directly in line with the fabricators (including 1 extra for the output lane) and then use the bottom "back" splitter port to feed the fabricators.
    Also i prefer to have the bus at ground level and split off at 1st floor. But that's just me..

    I'm loving this game.
    Do you know the things you used on your conveyor roundabout thing, I do not know what they are called cause I do not use them, but you have them at every intersection of the roundabouts, you do not need those things.
    Well, I'm not 100% on how you are using them because you can not draw 2 in & 2 out. The ones you used in this video, yea those are cool and I didn't even know they existed, but the ones at your roundabout, you might not need them, you can just build the conveyors that way. You can build a (T) 2 in & 1 out intersection where the top of the T both come straight at each other and unload on the one belt. You can also make a (+) 3 in & 1 out by drawing them that way as well.
    Draw an L starting at the short line, opposite of the way you would write it. Then just draw the other 2 lines into the intersection of the L to make a (+). Not trying to change your thing, but I didn't know if you knew this. If you just use those things all the time it doesn't allow you to see the possibilities, imo.

    How would it work if you put the logistic station in line with the bus and use it as a passthrough?

    • @asjyk
      @asjyk 3 роки тому +1

      It would work exactly like having chests in between the conveyor belt. It will not store until the belt output is backed up.
      But if you set it up as a demand, it would act as a "smart" chest. The tower is going to store items until the line has a gap of items to output.

  • @buzz1ebee
    @buzz1ebee 3 роки тому

    Just use a main bus to build up to logistics towers then destroy it all. Super inefficient and ineffective in comparison. You limit the maximum output to (max level belt) 30 items /second. Any use above that will dry up the belt.
