- John Anderson has filled his Beachcombing Musuem with literally tons of treasures found on beaches around the world. From sea glass floats to lost marine equipment and from fossils to shipping container flotsam, John has collected it all. This presentation takes you along as he scales cliffs, battles tides, and even outraces a plane to grab ocean treasures.
John has been beachcombing since the 1970s, when he began climbing down cliffs, wading through high tides, and dragging his finds home with his family and friends through the forests of the Pacific Northwest. He is considered by some to be the world’s greatest beachcomber. His museum in Forks, Washington, includes examples of just about everything that washes up on beaches around the world.

John's been a friend for 40 years. I have so much respect for his efforts finding the lesser crap and getting plastic off the beaches in the NW
For every item you see he has probably removed another piece of worthless plastic trash from the beach and made sure it made it into a proper trash can.
The beaches are special places to visit - Please be like John and respect them and clean up the debris -
Pack it out when you can.
Great story old friend, see you at the beach in Aug.
HOGG ON.

I’m absolutely in awe of your collection! When Kirsti said you most likely had the largest Beachcombing collection ever, I expected a lot of stuff, but I couldn’t even fathom the unbelievable treasure trove you’ve amassed over the years. Its absolutely crazy what washes up on our beaches. So glad to see that you’re putting so much of it to use. Thank you for all your efforts!!
The museum is a must-see if you are anywhere near Washington!!!
I live in the marshy peninsulas on Maryland’s eastern shore so beachcombing is in my blood. Your video wasn’t what I expected but exactly what I needed. Sure do miss hearing interesting people like you just tell their stories simply without fluff.
I like the message s in a bottle s very cool indeed
I have driven by his museum thousands of times but never have stopped. Gonna have to check it out. Got to love the Olympic coast.
What a wonderful collection... Heaven on earth!!! After 60 years of beachcombing throughout Florida (and producing 3 more collectors) we understand your love of the beach. Thank you for sharing!
I didn't even know this was a thing that I needed in my life!
Wow just amazing ❤
This is amazing I never thought about things other than shells on the beach .😊
Wow, you should be in the world Record book for many of your collections! Thank you for sharing.
Wow, your collection is awesome! I used to beach comb in my younger days. What you've found is so exciting!
Wow, what a life you have! Ocean beauty and might, interesting finds!
I live in Port Angeles Washington and never heard of this place. Will definately be visiting!🙏❤️🇺🇲
John is such a legend.
Hi cousin John! Loved your video.
A fella I knew worked at a remote cape in Australia 🇦🇺 the amount of floats and glass floats he had was staggering 👍their was one family bit further south found a 44 gallon drum 🥁 of hashish lol 😂
Wow I bet those currents brought in lots of stuff...good and bad!!
@@Beachcombing he got sacked when Mitsubishi took over the mine site . Often wonder 💭 what became of them floats
Great video, my favorite pastime, I remember boating past Maurel Is. several times looking for the elephant in elephant mt. About the third time the elephant stood up and walked, just different lighting or shadows made it very obvious. Thanks for the memories.
Great video!
Fantastic program! Thank you!
I love this! Great finds
Awesome presentation. Very cool museum. Would love to see it. I recognized a couple seabean photos. :)
Thanks for letting us include your sea bean photos!!!
Amazing ! Thank you for sharing your treasures and incredible stories
Thank you, this is fascinating
Your collection is so awesome! I love beachcombing. I don't have access to the the really isolated beaches. Have fun!
This was a great video!
I met you at your museum when I found it by accident. I loved your stories and your Ronkon motorcycle find. I did buy a glass fish float and I see it everyday sitting in my living room. I live near Lake Michigan and am a bit of a beachcomber myself. It is so relaxing and rewarding. The last time out, I found a diamond ring in where someone had a beach campfire! Keep walking and finding!
What an Amazingly breathtakingly beautiful beach to go Beach Combing on!
So love doing this Too with my daughter and friends at Taylors Mistake beach in Aotearoa NZ etc…
Thanks and have subscribed 🕊🌊🌳⛰🌏💖
Absolutely amazing! Hope I have the opportunity to visit your museum some day, and some if those area beaches.
Salute,
epic
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Man I’d love to take you to some of the secret spots I know of here on Big Island Hawaii. There’s so much treasure it’s crazy. It needs to be really calm waters for the best spots though. Only happens a few days a year.
You deserve more subs for your efford😢
Thanks for showing your fantastic beach combing artifacts ❤❤❤

Lazy stepmom 😂😂🤣🤣🤣👍
Oh man. The garbage really freaks me out. I saw a video from the Philippines? last night and it was truly horrifying. The sea life is gone. It really looks disgusting. Shame on mankind. Shame.
I wonder if you have found any bricks of coke washed up 🤔
In other words a junk collector
I love this guy, he's always so positive when I see him
Tragic washups on the moment in the north see cannel. Sad findings.
