@@Johnjingleheimerschmidtt Using a lot of dirt, reverb and delay is the classic way to liven up a dead sounding guitar. Tuning a half step down, and possibly the use of a heavier string gauge, will fatten up the sound. Imho this demo just does not give a good representation of what this type of guitar will sound like out of the box.

I’m really excited for this, the best one in the line up in terms of specs you’re getting for price I think. That being said wait a year and pick one up used or discounted from the dealer. The Bonamassa ES-335 was $1300 new and can easily be had for $850 or less in good condition used. At that price this ES-355 would be an incredible value imo.

The VOS finish is a deal-killer for me. But, this Epiphone IGC 1959 ES-355 is so good to pass up. So, I went ahead and bought one in Ebony - my very first semi-hollow. Took it to a luthier for a set-up - he was impressed and called it a Gibson. Sounds, feels and plays great. The VOS finish? I still don’t like it. So, I’m working on it. When it’s done, it will be my very own custom 1959 ES-355.
Hint: it’s coming out really good!

There appears to be an inconsistency in the Gibson CustomBucker pickups provided on this Epiphone guitar and the Gibson CustomBucker pickups provided in Gibson guitars. The Epiphone guitar Gibson CustomBuckers are “potted” and the Gibson guitar CustomBucker pickups are “unpotted”. According to the Gibson website, CustomBuckers are not potted. So, are the CustomBuckers provided on the Epiphone made in the USA by Gibson, or are they actually manufactured in some other country and just called Gibson CustomBuckers?

Why oh why cannot all guitar demos be divided int two parts?!..... Part 1:- Absolutely CLEAN in all pickup settings and Part 2:- Overdrive in all pickup settings? In that way, guitarists can just explore the sounds which are pertinent to their musical style, without having to wade through settings which they never use!

Good for you my friend. That is all that matters. But, from what I have been overwhelmingly hearing, this IBGC 1959 ES-355 is scarily close to a good Gibson. Not bad for a $1299 guitar while the Gibson is $6999. But, like I said it all boils down to what we want. Personally, and modesty aside while I can afford to get 10 Gibsons, I am honestly happy and contented with my Epiphones that is why I have no desire whatsoever in owning one. Good luck!
