    Etnia Barcelona is one of the most passionate eyewear companies in the world. They are my first love because they were the only brand in the company in which I fisrt started that was fit for an enthusiast. I bought two pairs and they are just a joy to have.

    Since you talk about Zeiss often, i would like to see you Review Zeiss' eyewear collection by Marchon. I picked one recently and was impressed with how high quality and unique their frames are. Would be nice to see the review of a specialist like you.

    6:22 that is a bold claim but I'll allow it! Favorite Lynch movie?
    Speaking of movies... For somebody who has progressive lenses, do you recommend dedicated single vision lens glasses for watching movies on the big screen? Have you ever done something like that?

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  6 місяців тому +1

      They are all so good. Probably Mulholland Drive (which I know is a safe choice). I think Twin Peaks is his best work, but I love every single Lynch film. Lost Highway, maybe?
      Von Trier, Kubrick & Villeneuve would complete my top 4. Who is your favourite director?
      And yes, for movies it has to be a clear glass single vision lens! Nothing will give you a purer image. I'd be glad to make you a pair for when you''re in movie mode.

      @@thespectaclefactory any chance of a quick video / short on Thelios' track record? I'd assume QC better than Lux, unsure on how they compare to Kering etc. Looking through their brand list I don't see a single "actual" eyewear brand, whereas even Lux have OP, Persol etc so that's a bit worrying. However it's not just BP there was also Vuarnet a couple of months back so it would appear there's a focused direction towards better quality eyewear at Thelios so maybe all is not lost?

    Above all else i loved the mint green. Which is a shame because I already have 3 different green tints and have been actively trying to move away from that colour. But hey, maybe one last one...

    Hi Rob, what a great presentation on tint technology. A question please. When applying a tint would you recommend applying an anti reflective coating on top or would that defeat the purpose of applying the tint in the first place?

    Great video. One request. Can you do a video sometime on how to make adjustment to glasses for people with longer lashes? I can never get glasses to sit properly (lashes touching the lens) and I’ve watched other videos to no avail. I was looking for your opinion. They are natural lashes to so I don’t want to trim. 😊 Thanks!

    I think I know why LUCAS don't sell as well as they should. Being in the category of luxury items, they just don't look it, unless you listen to Robert salivating over them or look really up close at all the intricate details. They are too understated, for lack of better word.

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  6 місяців тому +1

      That's a fair point, and you're right. A lot of people want their expensive glasses to *look* expensive, but for me eyewear is about you knowing it's special and therefore feeling special in yourself.

    • @blackcat9100

      @@thespectaclefactory They are not just special, they're unique! That's for sure.

    • @raymondding5746

      To be fair, there are very very few actual eyewear brands that compete at the same price bracket as LdS, which can be up to 3x the price of Barton Pereira or Dita which are already considered expensive by most people, even enthusiasts. It's the same in other industries as well, sales in the luxury segment directly correlate with perceived brand prestige. At the £1000+ mark, pretty much only JMM have built up a solely eyewear-related level of prestige and that mainly through clever marketing, which LdS do none of. None of Cartier, Chrome Hearts or Maybach are fully eyewear brands and thus benefit from their existing brand prestige from other sectors. The only other similar case I can think of is Lotos and they're hardly huge either, but even in their case they use conventional "luxury" materials like gold and diamonds etc rather than stone, leather etc
