I was there, slept on the pavement overnight for tickets.
Was there, incredible memories. My friend queued overnight for the tickets and was there when ‘which one of you hit the policeman’
Beautiful Memories💎💘
This is really when the edge started using the Rickenbacker 330/12 strings after trying one out in sun studios he bought a 1966 330/12 in fireglo himself and put it to fantastic use on even better than the real thing and mysterious ways amongst others... plus he was a huge fan of George Harrison too another reason to play one
Angel of Harlem!
Awesome Day U2 ~
Bono's voice back then was unmatched

Bono said "When I was little, I wanted to play the guitar so badly. Now I do play the guitar... badly." Did the man ever learn a 3rd chord?!

Copying
We're did the sky go
To a guinea, and the pigs
Or to the pizza place
We're did rose of tralee
On a cold vinter day
We're did the sky
In the blush, red or the
White, House
We're did the sky go
Running with the wind
LOVE BONO'S DRESS SENSE HERE
The rumour at the time was that U2 were pressurised into appearing at this Island Records organized benefit by Chris Blackwell. In fact, this served as a great live intro to the then unpopular Rattle and Hum material.
A lot to unpack there. U.S. music critics didn't go for the album but U2 sure didn't alienate any of their fans with the R&H material. They continued to play "Desire," "All I Want is You" and "Angel of Harlem" live for the subsequent two plus decades. Internationally I think R&H was embraced much more than in the States.
Tricky release, that album and movie, mostly because of American rock criticism methinks. Sydney and London crowds were sure into it. For me Pop was the misfire that American rock critics thought R&H was.
Angel of Harlem
Blue angel, star ways
Sting ways, heavy wars
The mystery stars
Under the American

ALL GREAT CHOICES
We're did the sky go
