  • One of a flurry of 1960s concert recordings that were dug up by fly-b-night record labels (read mafia-controlled) and sold in bargain bins to capitalize off Richard Pryor's superstardom. Most came out through David and Lots Drozen's Laff imprint. They had a legitimate contract with Pryor at one point and used it to justify the release of bootleg recordings for many years until one of them, Rev. Durite ended up getting nominated for a Grammy. At that point Pryor stepped in and bought out their catalog. This one was put initially through World Sound Records, a company controlled by the infamous Morris Levy. Later it was issued as a picture disc by Audio Fidelity.
And its actually not bad. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section.

Master storyteller and performer. So much more than just a comedian. Brings the characters alive. He was so unlike today's flock of mostly uninspiring comedians...

Hey james, there is nothing wrong with what you did in school to perform richard Pryor in class rooms, lol. I hope the teacher, other students and the principle enjoyed your performance and knew who it was, lmao.
Did you use the swear words too? Lol.
I hope you didnt drink or do drugs like Richard did. He was funny.
The drugs probably helped his career but not his life. I think the drugs and alcohol contributed to his death, not sure.
He looked terrible in the end of his life.
God bless you and your family James.
      Merry Christmas,
      Glen.
Ps.. i have this and several other Richard pryor shows all on cassette tapes from vack in the 80s.
Ive been listenning alot to redd foxx on you tube, from his live stage shows on 33 records, before sanford and son.
He made about 2 or 3 dvds from his live stage shows after sanford and son, and when he got a bit older into his 60s before he had a real heart attack at a practice for a new comedy sitcom that one of his female friends hired him to perform in and get him some work.
They were laughing coz they thought he was joking from his great fake BIG HEART ATTACKS ON SANFORD AND SON.
and it was the real thing.
      How sad.
      Stay well sir.

The contents of this album ended up being recycled on a Laff Records album called "Richard Pryor--LIVE!", which came out in 1982 or so, with a few other re-used routines on it as well. It was the last archival release of his on Laff.

      I really hope so, sir.
I hope he was born again.
He talked about GOD alot, and he knew alot about the bible.
I just hope he had God in his heart and soul and asked GOD to be his savior and accepted 🙏 God into his life.
We will not get into heaven if GOD doesn't see his reflection in our souls when we die.
      God bless you.
      Merry Christmas,
      Glen

Can anyone put a link to the bit where he comes out and said I'm God , I'm here to pick up my son has anyone seen him ? He's wearing the robe thing and he's got a beard ,I told him I'd pick him up now . He looks at someone in the crowd and said what did you do to my son ? What did you people do to my son ? Then he starts screaming because he realized his son was crucified . Then he said alright let me talk to someone else that was crucified . Bring me Martin Luther king . What did you do to Martin ? Okay bring me Kennedy . At the end he points his finger at the crowd and said your on your own and he walks off the stage .

Hi steve, i have several richard Pryor cassette tapes from the 80s. I think i know which show he did it on. When i get a few minutes, i will do my best to look at them, and see if i can find that cassette. I hope i can remember, if i even have it. Lol.
I will see if the titles will help.
Do you know what the title is, just for that joke?
I havent heard this show before, i dont think i have. Maybe on you tube several years ago. I have to listen to this soon, lol.
I will try to help you, if you havent already found out your answer.
If so. Let me know. Thanks.
      Merry Christmas,
      Glen
