2010 xc 60 Volvo is one of the best cars EVER made. At 183k miles mine is not yet run in! Reminds me of the 122 s Amazon and p544., and B18's. Totally awesome cars!
really nice to hear- Im thinking of getting a ten year old one to mooch about in with occasional long trips- I presume you recommend? I need something with character but some smoothness. I like a characterful engine.
@@oris247 go for it dude. Volvo offers two engines in that models - 2.4 and 2.0 (I'm talking about diesels), both are 5 inline cylinders and they are awesome but I prefer stronger versions.
2010 T6 150k miles and just keeps going. It has needed a LOT of midlife maintenance (replace engine mounts, rusted out fenders, acc belt/pulleys, cat pipe, prop shaft, all fluids). But I was able to DIY everything for less than US$3000 and expect it to last another 100k miles. Most durable and reliable vehicle I ever owned.
i just bought a 2013 xc60 with 201k miles for only 1k dollars. it does need work, but after reading your comment, im confident that this was a good purchase.
@@UnknownUser-vu6xq well, sadly, the engine was shot, and all my money was already spent. My advice is, if the check engine light is on, have it scanned. If the cylinder is misfiring, avoid it. Was quoted 5k to fix.
i just bought a 2013 xc60, and havent been able to give a proper review yet, due to the condition of it. (i posted a video series titled "volvo project) so far, i love it, very clean design, plenty of room, and the engine seems strong, considering its clocking 201k miles on the odometer. great video review, im actually glad i watched this!
Recently purchased a 2016 Platinum T6 Drive-E AWD with 45k from a one owner. This is my first Volvo as I have mostly dealt with BMW, Mercedes, and some US models. We are excited and believed we got a good price and product as of now. I did not want to over invest so when I found this I felt it was a good start. I will keep you updated. I did by a 5yr 60k extended warranty from dealer which has worked well for me with my BMWs. We will see on that too.
Just got a 2016 r-design nav-lux 2.4 D5. Not got all the bells and whistles, but plenty there. Great nic, full Volvo service history, 60k miles. I’ve booked it in for a cambelt service (£1079, ouch). Hoping to look after it and keep for a number of years. Great car 👍
Well done! 2010 XC60 owner 🇨🇦. Solid vehicle, a real tank but not perfect. Had issues with the sunroof. Known issue, Volvo was pursued in US (North America for this) to no avail. Cost me about 2000$ to repair 🤨. Heated mirrors burned out as did the brittle wiring to them. My 2003 Honda Odyssey both heated mirrors still functional. For a ‘Nordic’ vehicle this is a HUGE fail in my books. Suspension (notably coil springs) back and front are somewhat sub-par. I don’t off road but have had vehicles whose suspension has lasted much longer. Perhaps issue was the shocks.. Suspension overall; 🫤 Handling is good however. T6 R design 20 inch wheels but $$$$$$$ for replacement tires. Using 17 rims for winter use, much smoother ride with higher sidewalls and less expensive for tires. I feel every crack in the road with my 20’s. Parts can be expensive, but the service has been very good (it has to be!! 😉) Shop around for parts. I do most of my maintenance but I know when I’m beat and have a garage do the work. Bigger oil pan on the T6 because of the turbo charger so oil changes are $$$$$.. which is why I do them myself. I save about half on a 150$ oil change..Cheers! ✈️
I can confirm the wheel arch rusting on the 2012 model (3.0 liter inline 6 turbo), specifically on the fenders. Had one replaced and will do the other as it has started to rust.
thinking of getting this model, found one with 145k km , 10500 euro , drove it and felt good not funny sounds engine has good power etc. anything I should look out for ?
I have a D5 2012 model year and the problems been, split intercooler pipe and rear Valdez unit. However, the most serious that occurred last month was total brake failure! Luckily the car was parked and when I went to start it I was met with a myriad of warning lights. It would appear that the master cylinder seals had failed allowing the servo to injest the brake fluid. Parts took four weeks to arrive and the repair has taken over six weeks as the Volvo dealer has struggled to rectify excessive pedal travel.
No, the T6 is not an import exclusive. It’s a 6 cylinder 3.0 liter turbo engine. The T5 is a 4 cylinder engine. I’m not a big fan of it because it doesn’t have an oil dipstick. The oil level is monitored electronically and viewed through a menu selection. With that said, the T5 does get better mileage than the T6 plus, I run premium gas in the T6 and regular in the T5.
Bought my D4 diesel in 2014 brand new!! Broke down on way home, supply too fuel pump had come off they said, it’s only covered 45,000 miles too date 2024, last year the ABS light came on, had too have new n/s abs sensor, 2 months later Abs light again, was told os sensor had failed , mechanic at Volvo said if it happens again change wheel bearing at a cost of £515, also had various warning lights appeared on dash board, had too have extensive software upgrades, I wud change it for a Honda or Toyota if I cud afford it honestly.
Don’t bloody expensive especially in the older ones I have a 2009 t6 looks it’s a quick car but in over a year with 180k km now it has a starting issue and the gearbox is abit jerky in sport and overall fixing it is expensive 3k in 13k km serpentine belt control arms engine mounts and more.
Have an XC60 and it's got a drive train shunt when it's really warm after an hours drive. The car drifts back when I lift the brake and then as I apply the accelerator it bangs through the car with a massive thud.
Volvo own 2.0 diesel 4 cylinder has been around a few years now and has good power rating and very good fuel consumption but you don't mention it. There is also a D4 2.4 AWD version contrary to what you said..

As with many Volvo’s not all specifications are available in all countries, so we try to list as many as possible that are common across the world 👍
