Just like the confidence hackers have when my bank alerts me asking me if I authorized $548 of Buffalo Wild Wings. BOLD of them to assume I have that kind of money to just blow on food. Also, if you’re going to steal from me those Buffalo Wild Wings better be the best damn thing on the menu, and you better send me that food by a platter from heaven.
The other day I was in the store staring at the selection of box dyes...at first I thought "maybe..." but then I had mental image of Hair Buddha going "no no no no no!" LOL
As a professional hair stylist...I find it hilarious at the beginning of every fail video these ppl are so excited and so confident. Toward the end you can slowly see their confidence breaking down until they are in tears. If these ppl would first watch " what not to do" then watch the correct how to do, there would be so much less tears and stress. Either way this is very entertaining.
True. However there are actual hairstylists that don't know what they're doing either. I have no clue how they graduated. I've had so many bad experiences. I'm always like "can you do layers" then they say yes, then I walk out with choppy hair and uneven layers. I just wish a professional would say "no I'm not good at this but one of my colleagues is, here's her number." But nope, they say they can do it then eff up my hair.
I have a lot of respect for hairdressers that know their stuff and can tell a client, "Look, this may be what you want, but there is a very good chance that you are not going to like it becuase XYZ. I will still do it for you if this is what you want." With that said, I'd like to know why there are some hairdressers afraid to cut. I went into a salon once and I had pretty long hair at the time, but I worked in foodservice and I wanted a short, easy cut. I asked the stylist for a short shag. My mistake was I didn't have any pictures, but I figured a short shag was a pretty standard thing and I wasn't picky. I just wanted short, cute, and easy to style with little to no products. It feels like she tried to discourage me. She asked if I use product and I said no. My hair was long, one length, and slightly wavy. A few spritzes of water and I could pull it into a pony or braid. But I was willing to use products. She could have made a product sale. Then she started cutting. When she was finished, I had a little longer than shoulder-length bob! I asked, "cut it shorter please". She took off 1/2 inch! That's it! Nowhere near what I wanted. I was afraid to tell her again for fear she'd retaliate and do something ugly so I just paid and walked out. Next day I went to a different salon, asked them for a short shag and got exactly what I wanted!
I appreciate the extreme confidence in application coupled with the humility of posting it as a fail. Instead of being embarrassed, she shared with the world so we can learn from her mistakes. May we all be this humble when we fail.
When she asked what color I thought it was a trick question. I couldn’t even see a difference. I’ve had hair this long and thick in the past and would NEVER think that one box of bleach would even cover the ends with a good result. Love your videos and reminds me why it’s so much better to go to a pro when wanting to bleach or color your hair.
I color my own hair and do my own highlights at home. It takes me around 5-6 hours to do the whole thing cause I take very thin sections and make sure I’m doing it as perfect as possible by myself. If you want to do this at home you have to really put in the time, otherwise it won’t be good
I feel this. I did mine in two sessions- 2-3 hours each and years of practice. I got a very natural, subtle result that does not look like it should have taken an entire work day lol
Yup, I only have short hair with an undercut, and it STILL takes me several hours to bleach and tone, because I do my hair in two halves rather than trying to bleach the whole lot in one go, because it's thick, I'm not very fast and normally I don't have anyone around to help me.
I agree 100% I have a rule when doing my hair I have to have the whole day to do it/get it right. I never touch my hair if I have to be somewhere later that day It's also another reason to use a lower developer. You can really take your time and go little by little that way you don't miss any spots or worry about hair snapping
I did mine almost a whole day. My hair only a shoulder length but quite dark, so i bleached two rounds with 20 vol. I did with a highlight cap (i'm sure many hairdressers will scoff to it), but it help me took so fine sections, and i could washed it then bleached it again without remove the cap. If you damped hair first before put the cap on, it won't shifted anywhere.
Sometimes I feel like elementary school art class failed these people (or they weren't paying attention). Unless she's color blind (which, maybe she is! That would explain a lot!), she should have known what color she was seeing. Her hair was orange. If she wanted it less orange, she needs to go to the other side of the color wheel, which is blue. Orange has red and purple has red, so when you add them together, red will win! I don't think she went light enough, either, but if the goal was more ash and less brass, then that's the direction she should've gone.
What happened with just dyeing a small chunk of your hair, preferably at the neck so you can cover it with the rest of your hair, to test the dye before you eff up your whole head?
OMG your finger snapping was great. I love watching your videos. The info and entertainment are A #1. She doesn't read the instructions and doesn't know what she's doing.
I have learned so much from your videos, I actually bleached my hair with Blond Me, turned out great then proceeded to the color I wanted, turned out great. So sad more people don’t watch videos like yours and learn from them before destroying their hair. Also some people should just leave their hair completely alone. Some of us have common sense some don’t, but they have other good talents.😅😅😅
After ombre/balayaging my nieces hair this past weekend and doing it very structured, planned and thin thin sections. This video gave me a lot of stress to watch knowing how even working meticulously can have some mistakes. But this is just one big scary mistake haha why do I torture myself watching these videos!
Been on a Buddha Bender for over a week! As a fellow hairstylist, I'm so grateful to continue my schooling through your content. We can ALWAYS learn more. Thank you for sharing with us! Much love from Alabama, USA 💙
The bblonde comes in 4 x sachets of powder bleach, then you order the developer you want separately(I’ve seen 20, 30 and 40 vol) and the mix is one developer with one sachet. I only use the 20 vol and 1 sachet and 1 developer does my roots. If she was doing her whole head she’d be looking at 4+ sachets and bottles, I had to use 3 (from brown) to cover shoulder length hair and I ended up doing it 3 times with months in between before it was all blonde (as I wanted, it’s disguising the grey). The first bleach made it a lovely gingery colour, if I hadn’t been going blonde to rid myself of grey I’d have kept it. The second was more blonde, but still a bit orangey and the third time as blonde as I wanted it. I’ve just done my roots and then used a wash in wash out medium blonde on it and it’s made it exactly the colour I was after. I’ll be buying a few more of the wash in wash out to keep it the colour I want. Plus it made my hair feel gorgeous!
The only box blonde that ever worked consistently for me was Nordic blonde... though im pretty sure its 30-40vol. Its great for redoing roots if in a pinch. Ive heard Indian hair is really hard to bleach. Even by a hairdresser, it requires a few visits to get it light enough.
I've watched lots of your great videos and I'm really amazed by the fact that there are people who take such risks with their hair without bothering to even read the instructions on the products. Other times they don't wear gloves. Other times they don't research a bit before doing anything. Other times they don't prepare even the basic stuff they'll need. And most times all the above happen simultaneously. So irresponsible... Keep up the good work! You teach us important stuff and we also have a really good time! I love your sense of humour!
I learn something every time I watch one of your videos! Cause even though this was about box dye, you still provide other information-in this specifically about the toner and levels
Somethimes it's easier to achieve a beautiful ombre/balayage by getting a color slightly above the natural color and start from above. specially by a line that is this prominent. Or you do the better thing and leave it to a professional. I think when this girl got the toner for white hair she DID read it, but she didn't understand what it would do. Even more reason to go to a professional
The amount of people in these videos that don’t read the instructions first, boggles my mind. Really? You think it’s going to be great, when you don’t follow the directions? But hey, it’s pure entertainment! 😂
I find it interesting that only when reading the instructions from inside the box she saw that it suggested getting more boxes. I wonder if it was on the outside package too.
I went to a professional hair dresser and she mess my color… and with all your videos I leaned and will try to fix my own hair. Your videos have been so informative, thank you 🙏 ❤ you ate the greatest with all your hair expertise 👍
So the petroleum jelly I was taught that it helps with preventing burns to the face and scalp but you only put it to your back of your hair, back of your ears and around, your hairline and on your scalp where it’s parted, but not directly on the hair, this is how I got my hair permed(box) or when I use to do it, that was many moons ago tho haven’t permed my hair in 5 years or more.
hi hair Buddha, I'm a HUGE fan of your channel, I was wondering if you could do a video about wigs? I have alopecia and have started wearing wigs and it's changed my life and made me much more confident, I walk down the street with my head held high and a huge smile on my face 😊 there's so many videos online but I'd love it if you would consider doing a video? many thanks, Ange xx
Oh, why do beautiful people with beautiful dark hair want to be blonde? Soft, dark, healthy and bouncy hair is beautiful. I can understand a mousy dark blonde going lighter or a blah shade of brown getting some dazzle with a color. My husband has gorgeous darkest brown/black hair it’s wonderful. Dark hair is fantastic step away from the bleach!
THIS! She has so beautiful thick, strong dense hair...I would kill for that type of her! Why bleach it at all? My natural hair is "street-rat" ash-brown. Something between ashy dark blond and brown. That's why I highlight it (and because I'm getting grey and it looks even messier).
I just coloured my hair purple using box dye a couple of days ago. Turned out awesome, but I always use colour a bit darker than my hair (no bleach), don't mind it being more redish (I have a slight red tinge in my brown hair) and I have a very short hair cut (tad bit longer than a pixie, but still not fully covering the ears). So I don't have to worry about the colour being horrible or a bit patchy (if I don't work extremely evenly it only looks like a few highlights) and it is easy to fully cover. If I had long hair and not the time for an even work I wouldn't do it. I also would never bleach my hair at home (probably not even in the salon), just too much can go wrong
I love these hair fail videos but I'm starting to have nightmares of messing my hair up. Lol. Last night I dreamt that I cut my bangs at the middle of my nose and they ended up just barely below my hairline! Yikes!
The only time I have used a white tooth comb with bleach is when I didn’t want a harsh line and I wanted to kind of blend the blonde in with the root area.
I finally quit dying mine almost 3 years ago. The last of my dye is finally gone. I have dirty dish water blonde with huge white streaks. But it’s very soft and shiny. Now to just get rid of the yellow and brass!!
I've learned that it's hilarious watching you nearly blow your veins out shouting through you device like they can hear you 🤣🤣 love these videos and you're reactions ❤️❤️
Box colour isn't magic or have o missed something? Why is it that people with black hair want to be platinum? I'm a black person and a hairdresser; had blonde/ bright colours regularly. It's called WIGS or HAIR EXTENSIONS as I want to keep my own hair attached to my head!
I feel for her, but find it so amusing that she came on here doing a demo, pretending that she knew what she was doing, and later stated she didn’t believe the internet. You, my dear, are part of the problem WHY people can’t believe the internet!
Thank god I only dye my hair red copper. And with Henna or a boxdye. But normally I wait a half year between one dye.... Nothing ever goes wrong.. But if you are a redhead, the regrow looks very natural 😅
I had briefly thought about doing my own color but that thought quickly disappeared. I will always let a professional do it, which reminds me I need to schedule my yearly bold color appointment…
I have a large blonde streak in front of my head .. from where my bangs would be to almost my crown is blond .. it takes between 5 to 7 foils to retouch it! Small sections people ... Less is more
This is my outcome every time I think about messing with my natural hair lmao 😅, if i mess up a wig i can buy a new one, trying to regrow or fix damage hair is a lot more work than I want or need
Oh my God I think that was the most difficult video I watched that was a struggle to turn it off but I was so curious it's a good thing I love your videos, hair Buddha lol some of these are just really hard to watch lol 😂😂
The confidence these people have in these box dyes is inspirational 😂
😄
Or the confidence they have in themselves, with little to no experience in hairdressing. Where do I get that kind of confidence?
Just like the confidence hackers have when my bank alerts me asking me if I authorized $548 of Buffalo Wild Wings. BOLD of them to assume I have that kind of money to just blow on food. Also, if you’re going to steal from me those Buffalo Wild Wings better be the best damn thing on the menu, and you better send me that food by a platter from heaven.
I wish people believed in me as much as they believe the photos on box dye
@@montialarson from ignorance. They don't know how bleach works so they just use it like a hair mask which will magically make things blonde
The other day I was in the store staring at the selection of box dyes...at first I thought "maybe..." but then I had mental image of Hair Buddha going "no no no no no!" LOL
‘Box bleach, freehand highlights’… just hearing that, you know it’s gonna be a good time 😂

Her dark hair looked so good. She needs to mever visit the dye section in the supermarket again.
I think this is a case of : didn't do literally any research beforehand about the bleaching process or toning. Girl there's no yellow in there! Lol
Yeah she literally did no research and slapped a tiny bit of bleach on her dark brown hair and got lighter brown hair 😅

All video i think about only: Hair Buddha please don't cry. I know she do all wrong, but don't cry🤣
I've learned that it's hilarious watching you nearly blow your veins out shouting through you device like they can hear you 🤣🤣 love these videos and you're reactions ❤️❤️
I cannot stress this enough…
SECTIONS!!!! 😂🤦🏼♀️
Box colour isn't magic or have o missed something? Why is it that people with black hair want to be platinum? I'm a black person and a hairdresser; had blonde/ bright colours regularly. It's called WIGS or HAIR EXTENSIONS as I want to keep my own hair attached to my head!
Perfect start to my Monday!
I feel for her, but find it so amusing that she came on here doing a demo, pretending that she knew what she was doing, and later stated she didn’t believe the internet. You, my dear, are part of the problem WHY people can’t believe the internet!
haha! the finger clicking cracked me up
Nooooo! No no no no nooooo no no! This is also hurting my soul! 😟😖😖😖😣😣😖😖
Reading the instructions after use…how useful is that? Maybe for next time!
Thank god I only dye my hair red copper.
And with Henna or a boxdye.
But normally I wait a half year between one dye....
Nothing ever goes wrong..
But if you are a redhead, the regrow looks very natural 😅
I did learn and very entertained 🎉 thank you so much for sharing it ❤
I had briefly thought about doing my own color but that thought quickly disappeared. I will always let a professional do it, which reminds me I need to schedule my yearly bold color appointment…
I have a large blonde streak in front of my head .. from where my bangs would be to almost my crown is blond .. it takes between 5 to 7 foils to retouch it! Small sections people ... Less is more
It hurts my eyes, and my soul... and my mind! 🤣
sometimes a wig is the best choice for getting your desired result. this was probably one of those times
Hello hair buddha... Do you have a video showing/talking about your own fails in your career? I love your kind way to react on the fails.
Wow HB...I've never seen anyone click their fingers so much 😂😂😂 I just love you & your videos sooooo much xx 😘🥰❤
