There is a saying in the US. “Be kind to others because you never know what someone is going through” The older I have gotten the more I understand this saying. ❤
Don't be afraid to live your life the way you want to. If traveling is your joy then travel as much as you can. We love having you visit us in the USA. A loyal fan here
As an American, it just really warms my heart and soul to hear that many people have been so kind to you! I was raised with the mindset that if you see someone who needs help you should help them, to put others before yourself, and to smile because you don't know who needs one and who might be having a bad day. I don't know if it's right or wrong, it just feels like the right thing to do. I always worry about rude Americans giving us a bad name, but I'm so glad you had a great experience in that regard. 🙂
I watch your US travel videos and always appreciate the reverence you have for our Country. Thank you for always being honest but fair with your evaluations.
What I like about us, as Americans is that although we sometimes mistreat each other, we always welcome guest to our country with open arms. We even welcome guest to our state with open arms. I am always blown away at how genuinely nice and sweet the people of other states are when I visit. I'm from the west coast, (CA, Ore, WA) but I have family in the south and the people there are the warmest that we have. Shout out to So Carolina, and Tennessee. ♥ You guys are the best. ♥
I remember years ago, a neighbor knew of a friend of a friend who was down and out and homeless. Those who knew the person were sad because he was smart and a nice person growing up. The neighbor, who was quite well off, befriended the homeless man got him into an apartment and paid his rent forward a few months and also got him job with someone he knew. He could do the job well and the employer liked him. However, the guy stopped showing up for work after a few months and then abandoned the apartment and went back out on the street. The neighbor tracked him down and the guy said that the working life and bills was 'not for him'. He thanked him for trying to 'help' him, but he was OK and happy where he was. It's just one person, but every homeless person has a story behind them.
That sounds like a mental health issue. Many aren't diagnosed. I was 21 before I was diagnosed. I have been homeless several times. Luckily I have a roof over my head right now.
After WWII the US was so wealthy and powerful vis a vis the rest of the world that it distorted our minds. We decided we were the lord high executioner and executive decider of all things global. A trillion seconds is 33,000 years; we've painted ourselves (grandchildren) into a hopeless $33 trillion debt. If this country doesn't stop phonying up global projects in order to gratuitously graft politicians crony's & family's NGOs/501c3s, our progeny will live like Venezuela.
@user-ks3ol3lw3b There are homeless in France. Current estimates say the about 190k homeless in France right now. Just like in the US, France hides them for special occasions.
In the two and a half years of watching your channel, your English has improved so much and your confidence has grown a lot also. Don't let fear deter you from setting and achieving goals for yourself. Relax. You're doing fine.
I think we all have those anxieties about life and the future, Marie. Keeping busy doing what you love is one good way to take your mind off it. And just talking about it can help too. This was a more philosophical video than I was expecting, but I like your honesty. I can relate to those feelings!
I have traveled a lot, but after I was 35. One of my biggest regrets is that I didn't see the world when I was young, before I was married and a mom. You are doing it right!
Hello Marie, it is nice to hear from you and enjoy your content. Your desire to take in experiences is wonderful! Enjoy life being thankful for each moment. Life & health is truly a blessing. Use time wisely. Best wishes to you and followers!
I understand what you are saying about homeless folks. I worked with an organization that helped the homeless community. I found that many (a very large portion) of homeless people make a decision that even though they have many sources of help they for some reason don't take advantage of it. There are shelters, work programs, food assistance Free health clinics and more. I agree that it's a problem, but you can't force a person to accept help. Another sad factor is that mental illness is also part of the homeless community and that adds a problem when it comes to get cooperation with that person. Hopefully we all will find a solution that is a world problem. You're doing a great job.
When I was young, in school they taught us the Golden Rule: "treat others as you would like to be treated". My mother also instilled that to me, and I've always gone through life with the Golden Rule in mind!
Your honesty and the way you express your mind and heart are what makes your videos so nice to watch. Thank you for sharing. Take it just one day at a time.
I'm glad you enjoyed the USA. Every time I hear about Canada, I hear Robyn Williams sing "Blame Canada" . Here is a like and comment to help your channel grow and get you the recognition you deserve.
I’m in the US. Years ago I met a young French woman on a bus. She was traveling the US alone. I invited her to stay with my family. She ended up living with us for a month. Lost contact with her but we tried to make her stay enjoyable. We had also taken in some young men from Germany. I guess we were meant to be tour guides. Enjoy your trip to Canada. Americans feels that Canadians are notoriously nice compared to themselves.
Marie, live your life, all countries have problems.. dont be afraid, go out and live.. your young, you have your health don't wait.. time is precious, and you cant go back and change it.. move forward.. you take care, follow your heart...
Thank you and Merci for coming across the pond .Your mastery of English is terrific.Your commentary is spot on .Anyway I just appreciate the effort and time you put into it .All the best from Maui
Traveling when you're young enough to fully enjoy it is something i envy you for. I wanted to, but couldn't afford to until I got older. I only had about 10 years of traveling before my health made travel too difficult. So take every opportunity while you can.
I am in awe of your natural curiosity and wonder about the world and traveling in general. But just to speak on your reason for travel, let me just say that maybe you won't get to see and experience every corner of this earth before you leave it, BUT the fact that no matter where you've been you've managed to be welcomed with open arms and warmth and friendship means that at your core you are a great person and in my book that means you've already succeeded in life. Thanks for sharing your journeys!
Hey Marie! The fear of losing freedom and related basic human rights should be on the minds of everyone... Freedom is never cheap and not easy to obtain. It should never be selfish, never used to strip away or lessen another's freedom. Never used to control others. It is complex because it must be outward facing. And it should be adored and revered by all. It needs to be protected from those who feel their beliefs are more important than someone else's, for those are the people that try to take it away from others. As is sometimes true elsewhere in the world, some in the US are blind to the importance of others' freedoms. Those with power believe it to be a possession, or some use it to gain power or control. And some focus so intently on their own precious freedom, that they don't see themselves stepping on the freedoms of their neighbors. Some end up taking freedom for granted and wield it like a weapon to dictate how others should live. Yet, the mass majority know we fight together with other free nations, to protect and offer freedom for all those who seek it - those beyond ourselves. For without the balance created by freedom FOR all - there truly is no freedom AT all. Even in these crazy times - don't worry, freedom will prevail. Thank you for sharing your fear with everyone. I get it. My wish for you is that your travels be less fear-driven, and more love-driven. Stay positive, and keep the explorations coming! Hugs! xo
Becuase that argument isn’t about a single persons freedom. We have the free will to follow our dreams AT A RISK, risk of failure, risk of pain emotionally or physically, loss of time it will take to chase said free will BUT that free will isn’t without its limits. You do not have the free will to dictate others freedoms such as removing their life because of one’s poor choices. You drink and drive and kill someone, it shouldn’t result in the guilty parties dismissal of responsibilities for their actions. The level of selfishness in saying “a women’s right to chose” is part of the entitlement being misinformed about American freedom. Freedom isn’t about one’s freedom to be free to do whatever they see fit without recourse or moral obligations. Freedom is freedom from governments telling you what you can become or what you can say. You are free to be who you want to be AS LONG AS YOUR ACTIONS ARE NOT HARMING OTHERS unlike so many other first world counties where you have a façade of freedom but massive governmental overreaches. Our country IS heading towards authoritarianism and our government IS limiting some freedoms they shouldn’t BUT the limiting of free will abortions due to pour self control is one a moral country shouldn’t ever support. I understand those instances where it might be the best thing BUT I am from a rape and can’t imagine not having my mother chose me instead of herself. She has told me that moment changed her view on life for the best. Selfishness is a cancer infecting our world. We say we should care for others while demanding the right to be more selfish and care less for others
@@treetopjones737 only the lowest people of the lowest moral standing, or dare I say NO MORALS would even consider such an evil act. Why would you want any mother or father to decapitate and dismember their son or daughter? It’s unthinkable.
Marie love your videos! We had the pleasure of meeting this awesome young lady on a trip to Glacier National Park. She is so caring and friendly! Your country should be very proud of you! You are doing what most people would have liked to have done in their youth! Keep up your travels! Looking forward to more videos! ❤️❤️💕💕 Maybe even another trip together!
Marie, I've stood on five continents and been to 38 different nations. You're completely right when you say that when you go to new places it opens your eyes to perspectives you'd otherwise not have. I have concluded, in my time adventuring, that there are good and bad people everywhere. There's no place I've found that's completely good, and no place that's entirely bad. The same can be said of the people. There are great people out there and there are some really awful ones too. We all have that inner voice that tells us when something's not right and most of us don't pay any attention to it. I think it's wise to listen to it. Some people don't and their lives are destroyed as a result. You made valid points and it's always good to say what you think because that's how the exchange of ideas happens. Keep up the great work, and keep smiling!
Honest and heartfelt. As I get older I realize all you can do for others most times in this world is be kinder to those who do not get much kindness. It doesn’t hurt. Take small pleasures everyday as you find them - like your Bugs Bunny 🐰 hat. Made me smile 😊. Thank you! 🇫🇷🇺🇸🐰🇨🇦🖖
I really enjoy listening to you reflect on your experiences. You’re a pleasure to listen to. Don’t let “FOMO” (fear of missing out) drive you. Explore. Enjoy. But don’t worry it’s not enough. You’ll be doing exactly what you need to be doing when you need to. 😊 I really enjoy your sharing. 👍
Glad to hear that my fellow Americans are still kind to tourists - now if only many of them would still have that same attitude towards other Americans!
@@billbrasky1288 then can I move to whatever neck of the woods you’re in?, ‘cause that’s not been the case around these parts for the last three years…
The big issue in the USA is politics. With so many people buying into the labels - conservative/liberal crap - talking politics is so partisan it's become divisive. As long as you don't talk politics, it's all fine. BTW, join No Labels organization. Get people out of going OCD on partisan politics.
Marie, thank you for showing me my country through French eyes. Before I started following you I thought of France as being that place with Paris, the Eiffel Tower, cheese and wine. Snobs in this country sometimes adopt french culture in order to look down on others. You helped me see beyond stereotypes and put a human face on France. I'll never think of France without thinking of you. If you were trying to improve intercultural understanding you have been wildly successful by being yourself. You have definitely have earned an attagirl. Attagirl!🎉
Bonjour Marie.....this is an excellent video, very fair and reasoned. There are many good things about America, but we do have issues. I'm very impressed at what a thoughtful, sensitive person you are. First of all, the drum roll between topics was very funny. On a more somber note, the issue of homelessness is very sad. There are programs and efforts made to help homeless people, but sometimes there are things at play that make it difficult to help them, such as mental illness and addiction issues. You have a good heart to worry about the homeless. I think there is nothing wrong with your reason for wanting to travel so much. Fear can be a great motivator. Not wanting to miss out on opportunities in life can keep you engaged and moving forward. Your "joie de vivre" is very evident. Keep that spirit with you always.
We cannot wrap our arms around everyone that is homeless. Some have terrible drug addiction, mental illness. When my young son experienced it in Paris he cried so hard for one lady in particular. He has a kind heart. But you can help a little but you can't save everyone. He's 24 now and understands what I said 16 years ago. Life is hard and it's a battle everyday. You're very kind. God bless you young lady.🙂
People end up in the street because they have burned through their entire support system. They have lied, cheated, stolen from their friends and family to the point where they had to let go to save themselves. t
@@yaimavol Some people were never blessed with a support system. Everybody's story is different. You should look into *Covenant House* to hear about some of them. ❤
@@wfemp_4730 Regardless of the reason someone gets addicted, their addiction is diminishing the quality of life for thousands of people that live in their cities, and that is unacceptable. There has to be some tough love applied. Jail or rehab. If you leave them on the street they will die soon. That is not compassion
I hope someday you get to visit the South and find out what southern hospitality is like. We all love seeing the world through your eyes which is why we find you so adorable. Looking forward to Canada videos. Thank you and be safe.
It really is okay to share your entire experience, the good and the not so good, it is honest. I do love how you are sharing your journey, both the travelling and in general. Travelling while young is equivalent to a university degree when done correctly. I look forward to your further 🇨🇦videos and hope you play some compare and contrast between us and the Americans. Bon voyage!
In general, you have the right perspective on how to live every day and experience as much as possible while you can. Time has a way of passing by too fast. Don't overthink everything though. Life has a way of working itself out somehow.
I just found you and I've been enjoying watching your videos and hearing your opinions on the US. I'm really glad that you love it here so much. It's also great seeing a fellow female solo traveler that is so passionate about seeing the world. What you said about learning not to be too trusting is something that struck me. I'm 38 and my first solo trip across the US was when I was 20. I've had some negative experiences while traveling but the vast majority of them have been positive. I find that so much of it is in how you approach a situation and how you treat people and I always go into situations hoping for and expecting the best while at the same time remaining aware of my surroundings and the people around me. There's a difference between being trusting and being stupid and, from what I've seen, you're definitely not stupid. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Never let anything stop you from exploring this wonderful world of ours.
Thank you so much for such a deep heartfelt commentary. I felt like I was watching my daughter pouring her heart out. You should really really enjoy Canada as they speak French there as you know. Keep sharing with us, as folks like me will be awaiting your next post.
P.S. I've never been outside the U.S. and I'm a senior citizen, so you've traveled and seen so much more than me ALREADY. That's why i like watching your videos - because you take me where i can't take myself. Thank you for that, and I'm glad you're really enjoying yourself! Don't let worry or anxiety stop you! ❤
I love these videos where you talk about your experiences. This was a great video. I hope you have a great time in Canada and I hope you get to come back to the U.S. in the near future for a longer stay. You are an awesome young lady.
My gosh Marie, _so many_ things to comment on about your really open dialogue in this one. But this is important I think -- it's fine to be trusting and everything, because 99% of the population is worth trusting in an OPEN public place, but we still need to keep our eyes open and observe our surroundings with caution. Just noticing anything a little bit off with someone as you travel (it's always in the eyes!) will help a lot with feeling safe. Love this video a lot.
Hi Marie thanks again for coming to visit the USA. I myself did some traveling around the world when I was in the American military. I'm retired now and I cherish all the different experiences of those countries that I visited and so will you as you get older. Good luck with your future ventures!
Marie merci beaucoup for your openness and honesty. I always find it refreshing to hear what someone from another country thinks about the USA. Like you said it is a big place with lots of different people. So sorry you had a negative experience in Arizona. The USA is not a perfect place including some people. As far as being trusting others too much that is just your nature and a big part of who you are as a person. You keep your mind open and want to explore the world. It is a good quality to have even if some people try to take advantage of you. I would say it is 1 reason your channel is popular. As far as the future nobody knows for sure so do your best to keep your chin up. Keep on traveling and posting your videos as you make the world a better place!!!
I have lived on both coast of the USA. San Diegians are very welcoming. Homeless from all over the US and various countries like to come to San Diego as the weather is nice year round and San Diegians are kind to the homeless often handing out blankets, hats and food. True the situation is getting out of control. There are no longer enough shelters available now. Hope this helps you to understand San Diego s homeless situation.
You kept apologizing for speaking so long, but I watched the whole video. I love listening to you, and you're very thoughtful about trying to process everything you've seen. You're educating yourself about the world. By the way, when you go to Canada, you should try to see the CN Tower in Toronto, one of the tallest structures in the world. The view from their observation area is spectacular.
I believe I can speak for some others when telling you it was a pleasure having you here in the USA. I am looking forward to witnessing your magnificent journeys ahead. 💚 As a side note; I treasure my freedom and independence also. Travelling is so cathartic. The world needs more like you in it.
There's a saying that was going around a few years ago (in the US): "Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty". Maybe you could start a movement in France.
the gift... is to find the beauty where you are at because those inspiring (trips) won't always be available. You are welcome back whenever you can make it.
Good video Marie. Thank you for sharing. I can relate to your discussion about traveling because of being scared of the real possibility of more global catastrophes making travel impossible. I feel the same way, perhaps not to the extent, but it's there. I had always dreamed of travel but it hadn't been something I could afford. Now I'm prioritizing travel because I finally am able to do so. Thank you for sharing and keep traveling!
I grew up in the US and it is pretty much taught by parents to "treat people how you would like to be treated" and to respect alders and women, and American's we go that little bit farther and go if I'm really nice to people they will be really nice to me. and taught this at a vary young age.
Marie, you need a hug! I’d like to tell you that your fears are common to young people who just need the sureness that maturity brings and that there is nothing to worry about, but you live in a vulnerable area where a war is happening. Even as an old guy, I have never experienced that. As for the price of gas here (USA), the structure of French/European society and USA society are different and how they pay for social services. Won’t get into which is batter, but they are very different. The homelessness you saw on the West Coast has several causes. People do get priced out of affording rent. The fentanyl crises and other addictions cause it. Believe it or not, many CHOOSE to live on the streets, even when there are options to not do so. (Or combinations of all three). It’s more apparent on the West Coast due to the weather and available social programs, IE, some travel there for these things. Please come out to here the sky’s are open in the middle of the country during the next “pandemic.” We did what we wanted and the government couldn’t really stop us from enjoying the outdoors, like those in the cities. We enjoy you, Marie!
You are a amazing person Marie. Live life to the fullest! If you make another trip to the USA make the southeast states a destination. you have experienced the Northeast (Where I am originally from) and the West coast. Now try the southern states as the southeast is called (Where I now reside). Thank You for another great video. Being scared is not always a bad thing seeing that it helps drive us to be so much better. HUGS
Questions lead to answers. Never ever stop asking questions. Working to preserve your freedom is a noble cause. Seeing the homeless underbelly of our country is never wrong. The fact that so many of us can't or don't see it is terrible. Instead of worrying what might happen, focus on the wisdom your travels have given you. Traveling to our country has given you a better understanding of your own country. You are the hope of this world. We (old folks) had our chance...we didn't do so well. When I listen to you, I have hope for this old planet. Keep traveling. Keep asking question. Keep looking for answers. Do something every day to make the world a better place, no matter how small. A hug, a smile, a compliment. Mostly, keep on being you!!! Thank you for all you do.
Hi Marie 🥰❣ Thank you so very much for sharing your personal thoughts and your reactions to some of the things you found during your visits to the United States 😊! One of the things I love so much about your video reactions is your disarming honesty and willingness to share your true first reactions without bias or judgment or blame - just your innocent observations 🤗💕. And Marie, you really do notice things many people miss or make excuses for, as you, a sweet young girl from France, have a keen eye to see things others may not 😇😊. I think your inquisitiveness and desire to see both similarities and differences in other cultures and places in your travels helps you to do just that 🤔😉! Your seeing the general differences between the East and West coasts of the U.S. is something I have noticed as well. I completely agree with your dislike of our ridiculous public bathroom doors, and I have thought that as long as I can remember! We have expectations in this country that have built up for years of experiences, and we do not always appreciate that we actually have lower gasoline prices than many, many places around the world 😮. (P.S., those Cyprus prices are amazing, lol 😊!) I do love that you felt you were on the receiving end of more general kindness from people here during your visits - that makes me happy to hear, especially that they showed that kindness to someone visiting from France ❣ I wish you could experience that back home 😥. Yes, things seem bigger here than in smaller countries, and that goes for the good things as well as the problems we have. The homeless problems here are sad, and unfortunately that problem is treated differently, and sometimes more visibly in certain areas than in others. I love that you try to look on the positive side of things as much as possible, and that you are a trusting person 😊. (I have become more wary (or untrusting) as I have gotten older, the more I see.) I completely understand your being afraid of the future for you, and you are definitely not alone!!! It is easy to see that can lead to your wanting to travel even more to be sure you see as much as possible, in case our freedoms become infringed upon 😥😲. And I see that happening here right now - I am also concerned with the frightening loss of certain freedoms in our country! I was so scared for you when you were SO very ill, and I prayed and prayed for your recovery 😥😔🙏, and was so grateful when you got well ❤!!! Marie, you are also right in that we will all face difficult, unpleasant and sad situations and times, as you noted that are simply part of life for us all. That is when we must try and be as kind and caring for others as possible, to help each other get through those times 🙏❤🥰. You are a very wary observer, with a keen eye for details you encounter, and it is a joy to see and hear what you have noticed and found - Thank You So Much Marie 🥰❣ Please do not let the people who do not understand and/or misread or dislike your honest reactions and observations, or who are not empathetic, hurt you or discourage you. Certainly those of us who support you love you 💕 and your work, and your sincere feelings, that you so lovingly share with us ❤🥰🤗. I wish more people could be like our sweet Marie 😍! Thank you again, Marie, and please stay as safe as you can and take care 🥰❤
A number of the states in the middle of the country that I'm acquainted with have new airports because of that, they have made substantial changes in the doors and the restrooms that I think you would appreciate. I know, for example, the doors to the restroom stalls in the Salt Lake City International Airport will be more to your liking . As are those to the new Kansas City International airport.
Life is never certain. I have had multiple cancers and gone to the edge a few times. Before cancers I did survival camping to test myself. I worked as a bouncer in the past. These different experiences have taught me to live life as you can and as fully as you can. Things will happen. Some plans may not happen. Never let stop you. Live life.
I'm impressed that Marie in this video used the term of "gas" instead of "petrol" as the fuel used for vehicles, as English is her second language. In most other regions of the world where English is spoken, _petrol_ is the common term for vehicular fuel.
When I have traveled in France, I have been treated with so much kindness and welcoming that I am always perplexed when people talk about the French being unfriendly. Maybe I just have the kind of face people want to be nice to? But I LOVE traveling in France and meeting people wherever I go. I have made life-long friends in France that I have traded visits with between France and the USA and I can never wait to return.
Well, I think your attitude about the fear is best. The fear factor is beyond any doubt, scary. But you can let the fear motivate you... or let the fear paralyze you. Don't let fear keep you from pushing forward with your chosen path.
Try not to worry about the things you cannot change. I have a son your age Marie and he gets scared for the future and I understand that totally but I tell him to only worry about himself and what he can do and not to over worry about the rest. That's all we can do. My mother never lost a night's sleep and I asked her once how she does it, because I would lose sleep worrying about things. She told me she asks herself if at this moment she can do anything about it and if not put it away until tomorrow. I have to tell you that this works. I ask myself can I fix this right now at this moment and if I can't I roll over and go to sleep. Hope this helps you too.❤
Marie, I'm very happy that people treated you well here. In general I feel that Americans are happy because of freedom. We are free to do or think and that translates into a satisfactory life. In the same way, I'm going to give you my own personal observations. I have visited Europe several times I've been more than once in UK, Portugal, Spain, France and Italy. Of all places, in France I felt that the people resent visitors and specifically Americans. Any other country you ask for directions in bad Italian or Portuguese and people help. Not so in France. They resent that you don't speak perfect French and are not willing to help. I have always felt this way, not only in Paris but in rural towns. I visited Lourdes and villages in the area traveling by land from Spain (San Sebastian) and also beautiful western towns where the fast train goes under water to London. I hope you will continue your travels as I enjoy your travel logs.
I have been to Paris several times for conferences and did not see French people as unfriendly. But they seem a bit like Italians and Japanese people in that they expect things to be done a certain way, and they don't like surprises. It is a sort of cultural conservatism. Main problem I had was people thinking I was French and I don't speak the language.
America and France are Friends since ever. I like the american kindness. I appreciate, Marie 's video. Beautiful landscapes and nice people. Best wishes from Provence, France. Keep on showing us nice video, and be safe Marie. Merci ❤
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and impressions. You'll find good and bad everywhere. Can't wait to see your visit to Canada. Take care and stay safe 🙏❤️
I started watching you from your North Shore (MN) trip. When you come back, I suggest you spend much more time there. You only scratched the surface of a very beautiful gem.
Enjoyed your video! Love from San Diego. Average house price in San Diego was the highest in USA a few months ago! Does not help homelessness! Subscribed now to your channel!
I watched a recent documentary on Marseille France , it was frightening. Im pretty tough , I grew up in Chicago and surrounding by many gang members and shooting 20-40 a weekend was normal. Marseille in France looked like worse than ghettos of Chicago . I really hope France can get better safety for French people as well as the immigrants in Marseille. 😢💔
Thank you for actually seeing the real America and people...everyone just normally go to the big city where people can be rude or fake. But you actually went to the midwest and other places that dont get much love from foreigners. So if they do come here they normally only have bad things to say but let's be honest the ones that bash us probably never even been here. You're one of my favorite youtubers cause you're honest and humble thanks again.
@@aaronburdon221 I'd like to give small town residents more credit than that, but - if you're right - then most of you are wrong. Context: I'm from a small town (Finley, WA - population of around 6,000). Grew up in the outskirts, surrounded by pasture. I'm pretty familiar with these kind of regressive provincial attitudes, sadly. There are good people everywhere. And bad people. The sentiment that only one kind are "real" Americans reductive, toxic, and it weakens our country.
How could six people at the time of typing this, dislike a video about a person speaking on their personal experience in another country? Such a marvelous soul, simply speaking about their experiences to the U.S. And six people go, "Nope, dislike". Amazing. I would add six likes to this video to make up for it if I could. But to the main reason I was commenting, glad to see you enjoyed your trip and got to experience life in another country. So few get to and it's a shame. Like all countries, America is beautiful, but has it's faults. Homelessness is a major issue that is constantly overlooked unless it's for a political push. Sadly, a lot of the homeless are veterans or people who are addicted to various drugs. Hopefully we can manage to tackle that in the near future, more nearer than far.
Yes go for everything you can and are able to achieve. Like you said you really never know when it will come to a shocking end or your not able to get around. Enjoy life that’s what I’m saying. 😃🇺🇸🇫🇷
If you can I would recommend checking out Hawaii. Very laid back and friendly. Oahu is more populated so if you’re looking clubs Honolulu is the most lively. We stayed on Kauai which is more rural. Basically 1 two lane road around the island. But beautiful and very relaxing. A truly special place.
I just want to say I really enjoy following your adventures. I’m trying to watch your USA videos in order and I’m a little behind (just watched the Medieval Times one) and it’s fun seeing your perspective on our country. I’m equally interested in France and am actively planning my first visit there next year to see the Olympics.

Hey Marie , how's it going 😃 ✨ There's much to ponder over 🥁 roll!!! America continues to be an amazing country with so much wealth & potential , freedom is a chance to be better if you strive & believe in yourself dreams really can come true. You do pick up on things with fresh eyes coming from europe on how it differs for better or worse. You do tend to think of big cities as being less friendly & rude with people driven more by there own needs but you do have to keep a open mind & remain positive , sometimes you'll pleasantly surprised giving a smile & in return. That's why people prefer town & country where it can feel safer , the few drawbacks are that everyone can get to know your business & be a bit small minded. Did you find it that more friendly & easy going in the south , they say it feels like a different country where good manners & traditions matter more , where waitress's call you honey , elevator rides filled with small talk , if someone's options differ it's met with' bless your heart ' rather than intolerance , there's more of a culture of honour down south where one's reputation is highly valued , if your insulted & fail to respond in slightly you could be taken advantage of but in defending your honour people think twice before behaving badly around you again , you expect a certain amount of respect from strangers there. As for the gas prices ⛽ how do people put up with it over there , Washington state the worst at $4 . 98 a gallon with California a close second , it also affects farmers with food prices going up. Maybe a hybrid would save you on fuel if you can buy one for under 35, 000 , at least you don't have to plug them in so you won't get cut off in a emergency & they do have regenerative braking, there's a new Mustang powertrain out in 2024. I do like the idea of having a electric motor bike to roam around town , not sure about touring you'll probably need a spare battery for that , a lot of biker's do like to hear there engines roar. What you were saying about homelessness , it must have seemed shocking you probably didn't experience the worst of it thankfully , it's become such a big issue in California with tent city's in parks & dirty needles everywhere , there's no easy fix when it comes to mental illness & addiction as well as those without any fault of their own , it could happen to anyone of us if where not careful & responsible, I guess that why you save for a rainy day. I wish more people would stop making excuses for voting in bad policys , it is a nation wide problem but I'll take the sunshine state of Florida nowdays over California when it comes to the quality of life & your freedom. Anyway on a finishing note try to let go of your worries & fears marie you don't need to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders , life's always been risky & dangerous , imagine what it was like for our grandparents with rations while fighting a war we've got it easy, whatever the future holds just do your best to plan ahead & make the best of right now like you said, you can have all the adventures your heart desires it might become more challenging while traveling , find the courage within yourself to grow don't let anything stand in the way of your dreams , you'll come to realize your more powerful then you know. your always have me . Looking forward to seeing how your Canadian trip went. Take care , stay happy ,lucky & free , all the best 😇 💗 🤟 Documentary: 🇺🇸 ua-cam.com/video/IwEjt2dC3yU/v-deo.html Spiritual mindfulness :🌟 ua-cam.com/video/Eo6ooWtMGKk/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/uUZJea1UnS8/v-deo.html
Marie you can't worry about the future. Please live your life as it comes it's all you can do.. Take everyday one day at a time and enjoy life and people whether French or Americans.. I'm going to be 60 in October and Life is wonderful.. Keep bringing your videos to us. ❤
I read that US public toilet stalls are built that way after a fire where people perished in the restroom. Fire fighters and rescue personnel can more easily evacuate people by visually see under stall doors. Many finer hotels in the US have similar private toilet stalls with doors.
I'll never understand the focus so many foreigners have on the restroom doors. I've never thought about it and I really don't believe other Americans do.
I know, right? Makes me wonder what is going on behind closed doors in other countries in the bathroom. A simple biological act isn’t going to cause this much worry.
@@TheSwissChaletctually a lot of American are annoyed by our cheap seemingly wide open toilet stalls. Reality is they are cheap to install which is what our billionaire capitalists like to install instead of full private walled toilets with actual doors.
@@AngryVet44 Not to interrupt your anti-capitalist screed, but the reality is that the large gap at the bottom is required due to regulations (namely the Americans with Disability Act, 4.17.4 Toe Clearances) that apply to all but very large bathroom stalls. It's an accessibility affordance.
All of your points and concerns are valid. You are not alone in your concerns. You and your husband are welcome in the US. We need good people like you here. Avec l'amour du Kansas
I don’t like public restrooms but the doors are the least of my issues with them lol I could think of a dozen other things I hate more about public restrooms than the doors
From what I understand, our bathroom doors have bigger gaps in case someone has a health emergency, they can get them out, or maybe if a kid gets stuck in one.
There is a saying in the US. “Be kind to others because you never know what someone is going through” The older I have gotten the more I understand this saying. ❤
pretty sure that saying is universal.

You sound like an American 🇺🇸 the Pursuit of happiness is your dream. Keep moving forward and never give up👍🇺🇸
As an American, it just really warms my heart and soul to hear that many people have been so kind to you!

Yes unfortunately addiction plays a part often.
Thanks for sharing that story 👍
That sounds like a mental health issue. Many aren't diagnosed. I was 21 before I was diagnosed. I have been homeless several times. Luckily I have a roof over my head right now.

@user-ks3ol3lw3b There are homeless in France. Current estimates say the about 190k homeless in France right now. Just like in the US, France hides them for special occasions.

For the "give-give" phrase (6:52 in the video), it sounds like we would say something is a "win-win" situation (i.e. both sides win).
Your testimony is so reverent to me. Thank's for sharing your experiences and emotions.

Great video, as always! Happy that you prioritized getting out and seeking new experiences.
Traveling when you're young enough to fully enjoy it is something i envy you for. I wanted to, but couldn't afford to until I got older. I only had about 10 years of traveling before my health made travel too difficult. So take every opportunity while you can.
Fantastic! You explained your thoughts so very well...can't wait for your Canada experiences!!
It's always refreshing to experience such a genuine display of deep and open thought.
Hugs! xo
@@treetopjones737Take your TDS pill you will be ok.

Yeah, a random act of kindness can bring changes. I am a bit surprised that you were showed so much kindness and I am very happy to hear it.

You are a pleasure. Thank you for visiting the USA.

@@wfemp_4730 Regardless of the reason someone gets addicted, their addiction is diminishing the quality of life for thousands of people that live in their cities, and that is unacceptable.

You have such a pure soul it’s so refreshing. Also, I love your accent. I could listen to you all day read a phone book 😅
HUGS
I'm glad you had a great time. I hope everyone visiting the U.S. has the best experience possible. Best wishes.
If you want a good bathroom door visit a good casino!
You are doing very well with your English and vocabulary.
My daughter in law is from Guer, France and I think it has taken her a long while to adjust to the USA. Yes, it is a different style and vibe here.
You're a breath of fresh air. Safe travels to you and count your God given blessings. You are such a kind soul. Enjoy Canada!
Hope this helps you too.❤
If you are asking yourself questions then it proves you can think for yourself . For this , I am very proud of you . ❤
Ask directions in Kentucky and they will send you the wrong way because they figure that if you need to ask directions, you should not be there.
You have a beautiful soul. We need more people like you on this earth. Keep living your dream by traveling the world. ❤from 🇺🇲
I started watching you from your North Shore (MN) trip.
Your point on freedom.........100% understand you. ☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻
"Thank you for actually seeing the real America and people"
Those of us who live in big cities are real Americans, too.
@@Darchmare eh, most of us in small towns aren't so sure.
You have a beautiful mind. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings.
I hope to learn as much about your country as you’ve learned about ours 😅
I've really started learning English when I lauch my Frenchtastic channel. It's been a few years now 😊
Absolutely. Each area has a different vibe and people.
Hello French Tastic, I was hoping that you visit D-ay Naval Participant BB-35 Battleship Texas while she is in drydock. On Sunday's tours are available, one is allowed to walk beneath her. Hey Marie , how's it going 😃 ✨
There's much to ponder over 🥁 roll!!!
Take care , stay happy ,lucky & free , all the best 😇 💗 🤟
