Toni Collet was THE definition of acting on this… I first watched this at the cinema with some friends and it shook me to my core this whole film. Great reaction, have you watched Sinister? If not, highly recommended
You would LOVE the following two movies: "The VVitch" (horror just as good as "Hereditary"), and " The Inheritance" (psychological thriller with Lily Collins)
More Horror films! (If only for the screams lol) Love it! :D x "Hail Paimon!" It is quite rare for a possession movie to end with a successful possession...this is one. Great reaction! :D
New to your channel. This is a year later but if you do a deep dive of Paimon it explains everything in the movie. Charlie clucking, the residue in Annie’s tea at Joan’s house, the beheadings, and even the type of music in the final scene. After watching the movie the second time after reading the info every little detail makes sense. Really enjoyed your reaction.
Great reaction to a brilliant tension horror. When was the last time a horror film made you nearly jump out of your seat with a mere tongue click? A bit of geekdom regarding the lore behind the lore of King Paimon. He is talked about in a couple of medieval books. The translation of one of those books is actually the book shown. The lore regarding King Paimon is almost all spot on! There are only a couple of diversions from the historic lore. But the deviations do add a LOT of extra ritual & atmosphere to the movie. 1. King Paimon is actually 1 of 9 Kings in Hell, not 8. The number 8 was chosen so it could be matched up to a direction of the compass & add a bit of extra depth to the story. Therefore the cult facing Northwest is just for ritualistic effect. 2. The beheading thing has nothing what so ever to do with the lore of King Paimon. The reason it was used in the film is because of the artworks we have of King Paimon on his camel. There are 3 heads hanging from his belt in the artwork. So that was used so it could add a bit of gore to a couple of scenes to heighten the tension. But some of the things that ARE lore accurate. Tony Collette's floating & seemingly teleporting body is well within Paimon's abilities. His lore says he is able to bend & break the rules of physics. So floating would be kind of easy. & as he is able to break the laws of physics Paimon could easily turn, let's say wood, into gold to make his followers rich. I hope this adds a bit of extra shiver to the film. Hope everyone is having an amazing week & much love to all from here in the UK
Toni Collette wasn’t nominated for an Oscar, she was robbed it. One of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen. At the end it’s Charlie’s head to make a demonic conjuring. 💀 Cheers.
of recent for me at least, the movies that have left an impression have all been A24 films, The Witch, Hereditary, and one I hope you get around to seeing in the near future, Midsommar
I had no idea Midsommar and The Witch was the same production/distribution company. But I can absolutely see it now in the way it's filmed and underlying thematic set up of the films. I've seen both these films too and they both left the very same uneasy feeling for many hours after finishing them
Great reaction! A great outing for a first time director. That shot of Charlie’s funeral is amazing. It’s a far shot with Annie acting her heart out, and the camera tracks the casket being lowered into the grave… and it continues to lower into the dirt, giving you a look of what you will see when you are being layer to rest. Eerie as f’n hell! No one ever stops and thinks what it would be like to actually be buried. Now you know. btw - you have great hands. You said to go to Patreon if we wanted “to see more of you.” I definitely want to see more you!!
It's insane Toni wasn't nominated for an Oscar for this, really shows how much they don't value horror

To be clear, that would be a multimillion dollar house in the US too, we don't actually live like that (most of us)
depends on where you live. In Huntsville, AL, it'd be $500k tops.

That's Charlie's severed head on the statue.
Luke, this was a fun watch. Your jump scare screams make me laugh every time I hear it. I can't wait to see the next one!
48:37 - You missed a little surprise up in the corner of the room... 😳
More Horror films! (If only for the screams lol) Love it! :D x
"Hail Paimon!"

I have seen this several times, and until you said Johnny Rotten i had never seen the resemblance. And i about choked on my soda, lol

Your editing style is brilliant!
Great reaction, thanks so much. Cheers!!
This was a legit entertaining reaction to one of my favs! The psychology seeped into your nervous system, it was hilarious.
Love the intro, looks like a scary movie from the 80’s
I'm glad you got the aim of it, hope you enjoy ❤️

Wow, this has added extra depth to the movie for sure, I really appricate your comment. Thanks for extra knowledge ❤️
Traditionally, the Northwest is associated with evil.
Yeah Toni Collette acted her ass offfff!!!
She’s on a different planet when it comes to acting 💪💪💪
The son too.

Oh i agree, phenomenal acting but the oscars don’t usually like nominating horror type films 😞

I loved The VVitch, but I absolutely hated Midsomer!
Cluck.
Hail Paimon!

Great Scream!!!
Is *mushroom cake* a British thing? I've never heard of it.
It’s basically magic mushrooms made into a cake. I thought the nuts were mushrooms 😂 a bit embarrassing as I also have a nut allergy
You want to watch another amazing movie? The conjuring will do it for you.
I’ve already seen it and it is quality ❤️
