The majority of people here have obviously never taken a pair of shoes to a cobbler before to be repaired.
Vibram soles are a gold standard in shoe repair.
I’m not sure what you expected him to do? The wearer of the shoes had worn down the back heal. There was hardly any tread and one side was uneven.
If you leave shoes like that it will continue to wear and will become a hazard. Slipping, rolled ankles, eventually you could even get back issues and other concerns. Plus the shoes just get less comfortable. You typically stop wearing them.
He gave the shoes a new lease on life.
I understand it’s sad to have to replace some or all of a designer shoe’s sole, especially when they are uniquely logo-ed from the designer - the Chanel shoes he did especially hurt my heart.
But it’s something unavoidable if you want to repair the shoe to safe wearable condition. And I can tell you that Vibram sole is probably better quality than the one originally on the shoe to begin with.
Furthermore - there is a difference between owning a designer accessory as a collectible item with a store of monitory value to potentially resell, and owning one to actually use with any frequency.
Nobody who actually wants to have a pair of shoes as a collectible item will wear them to the point that they are beat to hell and require this level of intervention and repair.
The owners of these shoes obviously get more value from them as items to actually frequently wear rather than as a collectible item sitting in a closet.
This man’s job is to take a shoe that is in need of intensive care from heavy wear and restore it to a safe level functionality. Which he does with meticulous care, typically making the shoe look close to new.
If I lived in his city I wouldn’t take my designer shoes anywhere else.
To that effect - VeTiVeR, I have a pair of vintage Dior heels that are busted as hell and would love to have you work on them! 🙏🏻🥰
Thank you, the work done is masterful and under appreciated honestly. Anyone can criticize the details, but not everyone can really understand the craft.
K
i get that fam but you kinda ruin the shoes by doing that he should have just repainted and cleaned in my opinion
:/
My man genuinely pressed about a pair of shoes, that have nothing to do with him.
It ain't that deep bro shut the fuck up
I always watch these vids and say at the start "Those shoes looks fine, they dont need any restoration" then i see the final result and say "They did"
Lol you cap
You on perk 32 cause they look the same
So true 😂
Sometimes I wonder how young the comment section is, complaining about someone fixing up a shoe that's literally like every other shoe on the market, priced for the brand name. I think the shoe turned out wonderfully, repaint and resole. Looks brand new. The "authenticity" does NOT matter. It's literally just a shoe that's meant to be used.
Exactly. Who cares if they lose value? Shoes were made specifically to protect your feet from the cold/hot, spiky/mushy ground.
@@chillfactory9000 People forget how grateful we should be to even have shoes, let alone afford $900 ones for no reason. Restoration videos are my favorite because I love keeping items for many many years. Also saves the environment when you dont just throw things away. It takes craftsmanship to fix things too. I know I couldn't do half as good if I tried. I think if anything, the shoes GAINED value.

It scares me a bit that you leave expensive shoes to dry outside your house or shop!
I really hope you didn't think he was drying out..
Well in Korea theres cameras literally everywhere and the land is hella small so you'd be caught in like few hours so nobody takes it lmaoo.
It's just for the video. It's not actually left there.
Why would you steal one shoe?
What’s even scarier is that a rubber sole and a nylon sock can cost this much in the first place.
I usually just put my socks in the washing machine when they're dirty
Lol thats not a socks
ᄋᄉᄋ I hope you're joking
🤣😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
ᄋᄉᄋ r/woooosh
I lived in Korea for 6 years. I miss how safe it was and being able to just leave things without being stolen. So many times I left my macbook on a table at Starbucks to use the bathroom and I would come back to it still there. I miss that sense of safety and community.
Hi! Where r u living now?
This is so relaxing to watch...my new favorite channel
When I wrote my first two comments I hadn’t watch the whole video but this man is a restore legend he had every tool known to man to restore these Balenciaga speed trainers The Man even pulled out a mini iron I have nothing else to say
Is it just me or anyone else thinks the cobblers in my area would never do stuff like this? The amount of work put into this is so great, and ppl here can max add a heel guard..
Funny you mentioned the great amount of work put into it. In the wake of the scandal, let's hope it wasn't in vain 🤣

I was not prepared for that tiniest iron steamer. 😍 Cutest that i saw today.

I used mine for a year, went back to the shop I got them from and , after a few days I came back to the store to a fully restored pair. If you buy $900 shoes, they do this for you..
No they dont wtf vro
@@kwtsoskwtsoa9067 Might not work if you buy them off the streets in malaysia, but if you get them in an actual balenciaga store.. They will lol
@@TheRedHunta i buy them from the real shop man there is no such a thing im pretty sure
@@kwtsoskwtsoa9067 I'd recommend you walk in and ask. I walked in the shop on Rodeo Drive in LA, mine was really beat up. I asked if they could restore them and they said they could send them back to the HQ, fix them and I'd get them back. I did that and sure enough, as good as new.
Kwtsos Kwtsoa mans is right, i went to the one near LA, and I asked them how I can clean them and they said they can do it for me. They look brand new again

If not for that branding, this shoe design wouldn’t be even noticed.
graz ryan ok and? it is about branding
ok and
Dude that’s so wild! It’s just, I don’t remember anyone asking?
Wow let's take away the part where an entire company spent years growing a brand and establishing loyalty among consumers because that clearly isn't important.
Skyline R34 Exactly. The brand. Thanks for proving the point, if it weren’t for the loyalty and branding this shoe wouldn’t be noticed. Smfh 🤦♂️
Who would let 900$ shoes get this dirty
The same bright set of people who buy them in the first place.
The owner
The person who realized he paid 300 bucks to much
I clean mine all the time but they seem to get dirty really easily. The paint on the midsoles also comes off after a while of wearing them. It's also easy to find them for less than 900, but they're still a waste tbh
Who would buy those ugly shoes for 900 dls lol better ask
honestly the restoration job is pretty good. just a matter of perception.

This made me laugh more than any other comment on this video
I use "Shout" and Dawn dish soap to clean my shoes along with a horse hair brush my pawpaw left me, and it typically does a really good job. I use a small amount (just a drop) of the dish soap added to a bowl of water and scrub the shoes, rinse them, and then before drying, I scrub them again with the Shout, and then a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on the white soles. They come out near perfect looking every time.
No lie am I the only one who notices the process like Bro you’re going above and beyond to restore the shoes bro I don’t have time for the I honestly thought it was going to be a easy 1,2,3 step process but damn!!
This is how sneakerhead clean there shoes😂
Hello, good morning, what product do you use to clean the white rubber of the shoes?
난 정말 이런 종류의 더 많은 asmr을 원한다
This man is an artist and that was absolutely mind blowing..
everybody is talking about unmatched soles. i’m just here to sleep tonight
I just fell asleep watching this but woke up to finish the other half lmao!
WOW! That's a lot of work.
To all the haters: These are not your shoes and judging by the amount of salt that you have for someone that actually wears the shoes and wants the sole to have a grip, you will never own these
but they are ugly as fuck
Best restoration video ever
Never use an all purpose brush on that material maybe only for stain that are hard to get rid. I recommend the soft brush for your mesh uppers
The kind of videos that help me sleep
Watch it on 2x speed, the sounds become more satisfying
Excellent craftsmanship.
My man went from shell cordovan, MiUSA dress shoes to Hypebeast socks lol
i think it's just cause his clients bring him the shoes and it's his job, i'm sure if he had the choice he'd only fix up the nicer shoes. i'd say he'd be paid a fair sum for fixing up expensive shoes like balenciagas
this has got to be the most satisfying vid ever
This will be the only pair of speed trainer with good outsoles lol
Its videos like these that make me really want to try to wash my shoes, but I have no clue where to even start without the right tools. But I have some faux suede that REALLY needs some help.
Amazing restoration, I would like to see more work with classic leather shoes, it's the tradition now to watch your work, before the bed

Damn imagine wearing good quality shoes and actually using them therefor making them become worn down and dirty unlike all of us who just buy expensive shoes and stare at them because “we don’t let our stuff get dirty” 😍😍
Also these shoes are pretty comfortable, my friend owns a pair and she let me use them, loved them because of the texture of the inside and it was pretty relaxing ngl
They are! I bought a pair for my sister and I, and they actually feel like you are wearing socks. One of the best quality and comfort shoes ever!
Why didn't you mask the black part?
Because he had to clean it you idiot

what kind of rubber cleaner do you use?
Amazing work love all your videos
Nice job 👏👏
Just a suggestion but please avoid trying to fix the sole it destroys the shoes integrity and look and ruins thr shoes value
Nate Dacanay why does it matter no one will be able to tell nor is he re selling them... just appreciate the hard work
Nate Dacanay but the paint doesn't
Just_ Scott you can literally see the dremel marks, the seam where the new sole meets the old one is much more noticeable, the texture also doesn’t match at all. it’s a cool idea to repair and fix up damaged shoes, maybe even make them better, but these are 900 dollar shoes he made into 80$ scuffed ghetto repaired shoes he put way too much effort into. just my opinion. I’d be cool with a better resoling job , but it looks terrible.
Maybe the customer wanted that
what did you paint and airbrush the soles with?
amazing!!

@@youngcor2750 you cop a new one
Filli Libra 😂 ohhhh okay 👌🏾 lmaooo
Chancellor Davis because he used a painters brush instead of of air brushing the sole which would’ve been much better
So you used acrylic paint and an airbrush, and not the paintbrush? I was a little confused by the captions and I want to try that on my white rubber sneakers. Great restoration!

Hey, do you think that using acetone would help to clean the white part of some Adidas NMD? I got a second hand pair, but that part is a little bit dirty, not yellow but dirt color.
i don't get why u remove parts of the shoe that makes it less expensive!!!
There's plenty of pairs available if you can afford them, these are beat and would most likely never be up for sale. it makes them last longer, does it matter?

Amazing detail! Mesmerized watching this.
Silly money for non leather non tradidional shoes almost look like they are disposable shoes lol
ok , for the price i get what u mean , but they look cool and i bet they are comfy as hell so i dont get you
Vadim Don ok and
Eras they’re hideous, the only people who wear these are people who get bullied.
@@donjuan69420 they are not , and i mean its your opinion , and people how wear them are most likely rich and not getting bulied
Eras it’s a shoe broke people buy to flex Because they get bullied and the only way they can feel better about themselves is by flexing on people who bully them with shoes they can’t afford, and no rich person (unless it’s a celebrity) spends a thousand dollars on a pair of shoes that cost 4$ to make in a Chinese child labour sweatshop.
