One thing I really loved about TF One's Sentinel was how he's EXCESSIVELY shiny compared to the others. Like, Elita was the shiniest of the main 4, showing that she values making a good appearance, but Sentinel reflects light in every scene he's in. Even his sword is clean enough to be used as a mirror!
Which also helps as an early sign that he ain’t the hero he says he is. If he was going up to the surface, braving dangers and putting his life on the line, he wouldn’t be that pristine

If animated Sentinel could remake his design to be the guardian everyone adores, he would probably imagine something like this. When he's not wearing the crown I mean.

To be honest, the latest Sentinel seems the most evil to me. At least DOTM Sentinel was driven mad over his hardships fighting the war on Cybertron, whereas this one is literally only in it for himself and ONLY himself.

Pretty sure that Sentinel Prime's design in DotM was meant to be Alpha Trion, but Bay decided to call him Sentinel Prime. In the original G1 Sunbow continuity, Sentinel was the leader prior to Optimus. He was killed by Megatron. He was not a bad guy, just the leader that came before. In other continuities, this predecessor leader is also Zeta Prime.

DOTM and WFC my childhood but One combines the two. DOTM always reminded me of Alpha Trion because of the beard and he’s older while most incarnations of Sentinel Prime is like middle aged. Not to mention despite sources say he’s model after Sean Connery he looks more like Leanord Nimoy.
The best way to write Sentinel Prime as a villain is to have his loyalty lie with Cybertron & not the Autobots, he’ll do anything in the name Cybertron, even if that means joining the Decepticons.
id say that ONE actually even surpassed that kind of writing, he's not loyal to the autobots, he's not even loyal to Cybertron, he's only loyal to himself and however much power he can get his hands on, really helps sell the idea as to why the decepticons even exist

The comic Sentinel Prime is not a retcon. He actually is the first Sentinel Prime and he was literally created just to die and give Optimus the Matrix. Also not a jerk. U-Haul Robot is a Retcon cause he was NEVER named in the cartoon. He only became Sentinel Prime YEARS later. Zeta Prime is also a retcon cause he was never named as Sentinel Prime in the games. In fact Sentinel and Zeta were originally intended to be two totally seperate characters. The problem is the totally NOT aligned universe named two different Primes as the Matrix barrier immediatly before Optimus so they had to retcon in Sentinel Zeta Prime as the full name of one guy who were originally meant to be two entirely seperate people. Zeta is also not a jerk. It's weird that Sentinel has become known as the evil jerk when actually that's not the case across the board. Animated is a jerk but not actually evil. He is still ultinatly a heroic character with good intentions he's just full of himself. Dark of the Moon is actually legitimatly evil and they tried to make him a doing the wrong thing for the right reasons type of character except his character motivations really don't make any sense. And Transformers One... well you said no spoilers but you kind of did give away spoilers just by implying he was a jerk. If you don't go into the movie expecting him to be a jerk the twist at the end works a lot better but as soon as you tell people he's a jerk you've just spoiled the whole movie basically.

So zeta and sentinel are separate characters in TF One. Which surprises me even more that they made Zeta one of the original 13 primes who wielded the matrix. So I’m guessing they made him take the position of the arisen. Huh, Zeta the arisen interesting.

Hey I got an idea for a video, how about a “Ranking every human companion from worst to best”. In my opinion, Samuel “Sam” Witwicky’s the worst cause by the 2nd movie he wants nothing to do with the autobots.
My favorite is Dark of the Moon. I also like Animated, Animated season 4, Wings Universe, Covenant of Prime, IDW 2.0, Titans Return, Transformers One, Kairito10 left design, and rancid_products.
Tbh, I think that the Optimus recolor would be the worst design for sentinel prime, but somehow it made it to tier 2. I just think this ranking would be a lot different if Cam was doing it alone. Happy for the colab tho.
I find it interesting how in the tf community especially, we could look at an old design completely different and less recognizable than a later one and say "yea, i like that it looks like a weird human carrying dino thing I love it"
THe DotM Sential Prime fire truck vehicle was originally a yellow color cause that was the standard color for the vehicle, but Bay wanted it red because he liked the color better.
The Angry Birds version looks like it started as a completely different character, and at some point they just decided to make it Sentinel Prime. The body looks much more like Optimus Prime, and the helmet just brings to mind other characters that turn into firetrucks.

given there is a whole lineage of primes (pretenders or ledgit) one can parse the various sentinel designs into other predecessors like Zeta, Nominus, Nova, etc.
One thing that stikes me about the Dark of the Moon version is that he actually looks a bit like Alpha Trion. I've always assumed it's because they had Sentinel act as Optimus's former mentor in the film, much like Alpha Trion did, and the reason they called him Sentinel Prime is because the fans would've probably gotten upset if they'd used the other name.
I actually love the transformers one design, it definitely depicts a younger, more egotistical sentinal. I love the two cape/wings he has. Should be a main character design trait going forward
You know it takes a lot of notes to realize that sentinel prime is actually a homelander copy from the boys but More tougher and doesn't care for attention but only to rule Cybertron.
What's weird about the Angry Birds one is that they literally admit that it's just Heatwave with a bit of black paint. Gotta give em' props for that one.

The Angry Birds version looks like it started as a completely different character, and at some point they just decided to make it Sentinel Prime. The body looks much more like Optimus Prime, and the helmet just brings to mind other characters that turn into firetrucks.

One thing that stikes me about the Dark of the Moon version is that he actually looks a bit like Alpha Trion. I've always assumed it's because they had Sentinel act as Optimus's former mentor in the film, much like Alpha Trion did, and the reason they called him Sentinel Prime is because the fans would've probably gotten upset if they'd used the other name.
