    I purchased these stabilizer braces, highly recommended made a big difference. absolutely no discernable flexing while driving even on Spa ACC where before you could feel a bit of movement and lift. on some of those fast corning. good price cheap & it stop me from upgrading my cockpit. very very happy with it. told my friend a he got them straight away & gave it the thumbs up.
    I hope they come back in stock soon. Also picked up the keyboard and mouse tray to complete the build. Good video carl.

    Hey Karl, you got me into GT Omega products, I started with an APEX with rear seat frame and RS9. I since have upgraded to the EBay/Amazon copy of the GT Omega Titan- the Dardoo cockpit 54. For anyone looking for a cheap alternative you can get it without the seat for 150. Thanks for the great reviews Karl.

    I got the Indian OEM version of this rig during the summer, it cost just over £100 off fleabay , no seat because I use a gaming chair with it. The wheel deck is less versatile but it suits the G29 just fine. I could do with the extra braces & it's pre-drilled for them too.

  • @jimmydesouza4375
    @jimmydesouza4375 6 місяців тому +3

    Since you don't have the parts I'll post this before I watch the video, but if you mention it later on my apologies. The HOTAS addons you can get for this cockpit are not worth buying, especially if you want to also use a wheel at the same time and if you have other addons. There's a few problems with it but by far the worst two are that the upright that you stick the joystick in to is only held in place by one single bolt going in to the center of the bar and friction. The bar doesn't lock in to anything or anything like that, it means no matter how tight you get the bolt the upright the joystick goes in to rotates semi-freely (and works loose over time) and so your joystick will continually go off center. Also there is simply not enough clearance between my joystick and the plate you install a wheel on to for you to move the joystick forwards (and this is with both the seat and the joystick as far down as possible), I personally don't care about the wheel and so removed the plate which fixed that but if your wheel is the more important part it means you have to keep taking the wheel off and then putting it back on which will be obnoxious.

    • @jimmydesouza4375
      @jimmydesouza4375 6 місяців тому

      Oh and also an extra problem with the HOTAS addon that only popped in to my head half way through the video is that the HOTAS addon comes with a bar that replaces the one that is between the seat and the pedal tray with some extra predrills to fit the rails the HOTAS system rides on. This bar is a millimeter or two too long and so if you fit it you can no longer put the bars that connect the seat section of the cockpit and the pedal/wheel section of the cockpit in anymore. The HOTAS rails do a good enough job of holding the cockpit together (though are not as easily removable as the original bars so it isn't a quick job to split the cockpit anymore) so it isn't a massive problem, but it is weird that it is a problem at all.

    Just bought one using your code a few weeks ago! Been loving it but have noticed a decent amount of flex on the shifter mount. It really doenst flex until you put the fanatec shifter on it and start throwing gears. I'm gonna try some DIY bracing mounts for that. I cant notice any flex on where my wheel sits or my pedals so there isnt much at all to complain about. The seat is also very nice 🤌🏻 Thanks for the recommendation!

    • @storypunman
      @storypunman 6 місяців тому +1

      We have load cell pedals attached to the ART cockpit, we got rid of most of the pedal plate flex by putting a support under the front of the plate to the ground. We are on padded carpet so there is some flex as the carpet will press down, but the support made a huge difference. You can use a piece of wood, but you will have to play around with size and spacing to get it right. We actually used an old broken step from a pool ladder.

In my country, the second-hand prices for oculus products are quite screwed up; basically a cv1 costs around the same as a rift s or a quest 2 (190-240), but sometimes there are opportunities like the one I mentioned above and I just wanted to know if it's worth to save 50 bucks. Everything said in this review applies exactly the same to all of the clone cockpits you can get for $50-75 less than the GT Omega branded option.
    I have mounted a G29, CSL Elite, and CSW 2.5 to one. None of those are DD bases, but the flex was still very noticeable with each base.
    If you like drifting, the type of wheel movement you do while drifting will have the wheel deck constantly bouncing.
    If you mount a stiff shifter, especially a sequential one, the mount flexes almost as far as the throw of the shift. It feels awful.
    It's a fine rig, but it NEEDs additional bracing. The GT Omega branded bracing is incredibly overpriced, you can DIY a better solution for less.

    I was interested in either this one or the Titan, but both are completely out of stock, and they claim they have no idea for how long. Is the chinese copy much inferior to this one? Looks like a direct rip off, but at least it is available and I could be driving next week???

      No idea mate, could be ok or could fall apart in a matter of hours... I wouldn't risk it personally.

    Gt omega brilliant company. I wouldn't change my prime. But what i regret doing is buying 2x foldable cockpits before I realised pissing the missus off more, I mean buying an aluminium profile is a must if you want all the extras
    Ie handbrake / gear shift easy mountable, more importantly a cup holder without spilling a drop of guiness. A food for thought if you thinking about a foldable 😊

      I can give you our opinion, we bought an ART cockpit and have a Logitech G Pro wheel and pedals attached. Cockpit is great for for us. Their is some frame flex on high FFB games when drifting or dirt rally. Pedal plate does have some noticeable flex with load cell pedals; we had to support under the front of the pedal plate to remove the flex. The steering deck could use a little more support, but the supports from the company attach to the monitor mount supports which will not remove actual frame flex. The flex is minor, but we may build vertical supports down to the bottom of the frame to make it more solid. But, like Karl said.... it is an excellent "entry level" cockpit that is 1/3 to 1/5th the price of many others.

      Karl had a whole video on how to DIY fix GT Omega's design flaws and remove flex... But now we have a video with affiliate links to sell GT Omega's overpriced "official" solution.

      Not all people are interested in diy stuff. Some just wants to buy the solution and be done with it.

    I bought an expensive cockpit bundle that includes a wheel and pedals. It even has a shifter. It cost me 34k - which is pretty expensive but I think it is worth it. It is called a 2023 CN7. It has wind simulation, stop at the gas station simulation, and drive to work simulation. Downside is it has pay for insurance and get tickets simulation, too. I live in a simulation.

    I had a similar setup from that company. I do not care what the „price point“ is , the thing is absolute crap. It was do bad that even when I finally got rid of it, I did not sell it as I would have felt like a scammer. That video is ridiculous.
