      @@MorganClarkeDesign1 Good to know. I think it’s pretty cool how you do things and keep the camera rolling and show first hand-completely step by step. Never been around off road fab but it very interesting and informative. My trades a bit different working with heavy equipment, not so detailed and intricate.

    Thanks for describing the mesh and where you got it. One of the hardest things for me when I started my off-road fabrication hobby was finding out the common materials you see on many builds and where to find them.

    Would love to hear a little back story of where you came from and how you got to where you are today. Where you learned or got your experience from, places you've work for in the past. Maybe do a short documentary video about your self, make a post on insta and have people write some questions you can answer during the video.

  • @thedude6650
    @thedude6650 3 роки тому +1

    Best in the biz! Only thing I would’ve done differently is made the mesh panels and had them ready before sending the panel out for powder coat, just to minimize the risk of scratching the panel.

    • @morganclarke4455
      @morganclarke4455 3 роки тому +2

      Totally agree! Unfortunately this project was for the guys next door. It went out with a batch of other stuff they had before I could get to fitting the mesh! It would be more efficient not having to tip toe around fresh powder!

    • @thedude6650
      @thedude6650 3 роки тому +1

      Yea I figured that’s what happened. Using the painters tape on the mesh to layout your cut lines is trick tho! So simple and effective. Sometimes the best solutions are the easiest/simplest ones, we just tend to overthink things.

    Do you always powder coat your sheet metal panels? I'm considering using Steel-It paint instead and wanted to get an expert opinion on that. Been following you for a while and love watching what you do, always blown away!

    • @MorganClarkeDesign1
      @MorganClarkeDesign1  3 роки тому

      Thank you! I prefer powdercoat for most off road & sustained duty applications. Especially for areas subject to abuse and/or weather. Some people like steel-it. I wouldn’t use it on panels.

    Can you do a video or two on hanging fiberglass fenders?

  • @Nickwillfixit
    @Nickwillfixit 3 роки тому +1

    I would have fabricated a border so the mesh was sandwiched between it and the main panel I have made a few front grills and the firs couple a few bolts pulled through so I added washers but that looked ugly so I then cut out a border the width of the frenched part and looked way better and no more grills flapping as the mesh could not flex and part to pull of the nuts.

    • @morganclarke4455
      @morganclarke4455 3 роки тому +1

      The inner frame for mesh style openings does have its place. Purpose & location play a role in that. Also, openings on the mesh, hardware size & spacing will dictate how the panel will or will not flex. I can definitely see how a frame can be aesthetically pleasing. I’ve done it both ways Pertaining to the job. This wasn’t one of those jobs!
