@@PickledMushroomSauceAgreed. New Haven style pizza is the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. I’ve been to Naples, NYC, Chicago, California, and the New Haven pizza wins every single time for me. I’ve never had a Detroit pizza in Detroit, but I like it enough to make it at home when I want that textured pizza crust and the crispy and lacy cheese around the edges. I did buy the special pan though, which makes all the difference.
I totally understand if you’ve grown up eating pizza in your hometown and love the nostalgia and comfort it brings, though. Just because I personally think it’s the best doesn’t mean you will. To be fair, I grew up in CT and that’s what I know best.
I can’t make NH pizza at home though, because I don’t have the appropriate oven that’s been seasoned over decades. So we take trips up the coast whenever we can. We eat as much NH pizza, grinders (submarine sandwiches named after the workers at the submarine base and factories that made them in Groton, CT), fish sandwiches, whole belly clams, Rhode Island clam chowder (clear broth), and clam fritters that we can stuff into ourselves while we visit. It’s probably a good thing I do not live there, because I would eat like that every single day if I could.

The Hamburg in Hamburger comes from the city of Hamburg, Germany. Hamburg stakes were originally served on a plate and eaten with a fork and knife. When German immigrants came to America, they started to serve Hamburg steaks. Apparently the first Hamburger came from a guy who wanted a Hamburg steak but was in a hurry. So they toasted some bread and put the steak on the toast for him and this is the first recorded hamburger in history. So to everyone in the comments saying the hamburger was invented in Hamburg, Germany, the patty was, but the actual burger itself wasn't invented in Germany but in America.

I've noticed how a lot of places that serve burgers in the USA will serve it either undercooked or slightly undercooked, more times than not. The last thing they want is to get criticized for serving it dry, burnt, or bland. The trade-off is that you might get the runs and your jaw might feel sour for an hour or so. But yeah, when you're trying to appeal to everyone, that stuff happens. I'll also be biased here and add that white culture likes their meat less cooked than the rest of us. A burger is supposed to be either medium or medium well. Burger joints might serve only medium rare and.. occasionally, they might actually be rare. That's when it's okay to flip out on them, but it's to be expected now and then so don't fret.

The invention is disputed between america and germany because of the amount of technicalities. For example “The 1758 edition of the book The Art of Cookery Made Plain and Easy by Hannah Glasse included a recipe in 1758 as "Hamburgh sausage," which suggested to serve it "roasted with toasted bread under it." And “ A similar snack was also popular in Hamburg by the name "Rundstück warm" ("bread roll warm") in 1869 or earlier,[7] and supposedly eaten by many emigrants on their way to America, but may have contained roasted beefsteak rather than Frikadeller. It has been suggested that Hamburg steak served between two pieces of bread and frequently eaten by Jewish passengers travelling from Hamburg to New York on Hamburg America Line vessels (which began operations in 1847)”

So we just not gonna talk about it still being pink
They probably homemake their own ground beef, so it’s ok if it’s a little pink no different than eating a medium rare steak, the reason why we have to cook store bought ground beef till it’s done is because the same machines they use to cut the beef up and make it into ground beef is also used for pork/chicken so there might be cross contamination.
