I prefer TJ's edit on this one. That said, there is a time and a place for both and I think the audience appreciates the raw feel of TJ's style as we've grown with it, and can also get down with Anthony's for the rollers and such. Anthony has brought a sense of polish to the channel, no doubt. And a healthy mix of both is the best answer.
I agree with Calvin's assessment. I liked Toine's intro better, but the montage of the car with no VO was an energy drag, and the reactions lost their punch after the reveal.
I don’t watch because I’m a brain dead toddler who needs constant entertainment. I watch because I enjoy the cars, the details, the fucking around and videos that treat the viewer like an adult.
Old school all day. The new fast paced, overly edited, camera spin to start the scene is so annoying and everyone does it. Wanna feel like it’s a casual hang out
Calvin nailed it with his description including his breakdown of the pause. Twan, you’re getting good feedback even though you are very talented. I say give Calvin a shot at editing cause he’s got a good sense of what an audience is looking for.
TJ's Edit: Tj's is able to show the viewer what he really cares about, you can feel the enthusiasm, you can feel how much he cares for this project car. hes excited. NO one is going to be able to share that perspective better than no other, then Tj. shows story better. OG edit Anthony Edit: Its a showcase. A Trailor. keep your attention. everything professional. youtube. we watch to feel connection. the video is beautifully done. but its a reel.
the new way is ok but the music plays a huge part meaning it needs to be some good music. no elevator cornhub music. old school way is fine too as long as its not over kill. like when sabrina said "just hurry up and open the garage" lol
You guys should keep doing these. Very intrigued on the inner workings when editing. Would live for this ti become a regular occurrence watching the raw feedback.
If Tj's had the car slo-mo sequence it would be indisputably better. Tj's was very thorough and I understood what he was trying to say but Anthony's was very easy to watch
I LOVE this video. I like seeing both styles on the channel. Mixing videos in different editing styles keeps them all feeling fresh and entertaining, not boring
One is the BOSS and knows how the channel will react...The other wants the cannel to react well, but his boss to react well to. NOTHING bad at all about either, but one is worried about his job at the end of the day. BOTH GREAT!
I'm a fan and also work in the production industry. The kid is talented, has an eye for what is popular, and looks current. Always support that energy TJ, because he's doing his job and keeping you current ad the company grows beyond our years. The end of it all is somehow, to work professionally as a Creative, you need the boss's approval and brand awareness. Push boundaries always when possible but never ignore the history of a Brand.
i think the edits are not the problem, it’s the pace, personally i don’t want fast paced content especially on creators I want to watch longer per episode.❤
I think to be very clear, TJ’s editing has always felt like we were there with him and excited with him. Anthony’s style makes me feel like a viewer watching a presentation. I love both but TJ’s is the reason I love this channel
Me personally I like the b roll at the end of the videos. It gave a tj edit style throughout the video and a more professional style towards the end from Anthony
Dont get me wrong, Toan's editing and film making is amazing. I liked both, just depends on what they're going after. However, it's clear how easily toan gets upset when being given constructive criticism. Relax, no need to defend yourself. Listen and learn by listening and keep on improving. Great job both of you
I think the discussion and back n forth you two have is vital to how the final product looks. All of us long time viewers are hungry for that raw, less polished nostalgic teej, but also love the high quality new edit that toine serves us. Personally, the combination is epic.
Calvin said it best. Teejs brought back nostalgia and I like how he went over the reactions quicker. The perfect video would be first half teegs 2nd half twans. His came out more professional tbh. I enjoyed how he showed the car as he introduced it. Idk I don’t edit but the overall video was amazing. Thanks for showing this. Goes to show how much work is put into smaller things and how you’re open to seeing different POV to improve the channel.
i think calvin said it perfectly. I love the pace TJ's video had but me being a cinematographer as well, i would like to see some more " storytelling " or b roll clips and stuff within the faster pace stuff. Either way i like them both and they both work for me, always good to come to that middle ground you guys talked about.
TJ's vlog style with - then a fast pace cut of the "history behind getting the Evo" - then Twan's style of suspense to black out - TJ style facetime calls- then Twan's B-roll is what I think Calvin was trying to say
Def preferred TJ's by a lot. Surprised that Anthony was quick to jump in and saying it wasnt like Freddy's or Mat's style videos but its definitely leaning towards Mat style than TJ style
I really do miss the old tj editing style so it put a huge smile on my face and it would be a resounding tj wins BUT taking away nostalgic feelings, I agree with Calvin because right in the middle would be PERFECT tj and Anthony are a great duo and could definitely feed off of eachother and this proved that exactly
The start with all the homies seeing the car and their reactions was my favorite part of the revile, and how it flowed in TJ's editing felt more personal for some reason. I enjoyed the beauty shots, but the more personal walk around again felt better. I guess I liked TJ's better but would have liked the beauty shots as part of the vlog.
Seeing this was great because it gives us a glimpse of how they think when it comes to putting these videos together. In a way we got to see how much of their time and effort goes behind the channel when putting out the content.
Bottom line for most of us I think tjs just hit home. The feeling of where it started kinda. Anthony's is dope as usual but it's more on a professional level. Both great. Fun video idea. 10/10.
For some reason when I saw the reveal on the main channel I instantly thought this brings TJ edit vibes although I wasn't sure and that was sick! But we love Tuan's edit/work as well!
While I do feel the nostalgia of TJs edit, I like the evolved feel of Anthony’s. I think the happy medium is true. The raw feel of tjs vision of the vlog style and pace but for sure Anthony’s editing + cinematics as well as music. I like the put together feel of Anthony’s style but on tjs placement of clips.
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying Anthony’s edits EXCEPT for music choice. I agree with Calvin that the music sets the tone, and would love to have some of TJs music influence back in the videos. As a passive watcher I’m just trynna see TJ build these cars though. Great edits from both.
TJ's was nostalgic and I felt like I was getting more content but Twan's was visually more appealing and flowed more like a show than a vlog. TJ run clips. Twan should do the main channel.
This was pretty dope to actually watch. Inside look at creative minds and process that goes on BTS. Personally, I think one can appreciate the dynamics you guys share. Based off of this you guys have a solid team. I wouldn’t change that.
Tj’s video with the car montage of Twan would be the ultimate choice. Tj’s was great just didn’t get to see the car in its full spotlight where Twan really showed the car. I also liked Tj’s reactions a lot more they were very direct and you could still get the feeling rather than the long ones where you lose the pace.
I had the pleasure of meeting Twan at a golf tourney earlier this year. We spent most of the time chatting about his cinematography and the work he has done on the channel. Give me those Acosta visuals all day every day!
I liked TJs edits better overall, but as a photographer, I appreciate Anthony’s, shots of the car before going into tj talking about it, plus the talking over the sea of cars was nice as well
I think they should edit different videos, because to watch the same video consecutively it impacts your judgement. If you watch Anthony's clip first, maybe the reaction would have differ. Think the second time around it became redundant. But both edits were top notch!👌👌 Great work guys!
I liked the pace of TJ's edit especially the reactions and I have to agree the music was better choice. I liked the artistic shots of the car on Anthony's edit and I agree with Calvin that a merging of the two edits would be perfect. Tj's edit is more personal and I think that's what his viewers relate to the most. TJ is a genuine person that has a passion for what he does and that resonates with everyone. Anthony has an artistic flair and a vision of what his videos should look like. At the end of the day TJ is paying Anthony for a service and ultimately he has the final say on the end product. Anthony needs to understand this concept and defer to TJ's wishes. Having said that though it is TJ's responsibility as an employer and mentor to foster the creative side in Anthony. He clearly has a desire to create peices of art and we have seen these and they have been very well recieved. Anthony: Make the edits like TJ likes and understand the business model of youtube and also what the subscribers like to see. Have your input and make suggestions for improvement but respect TJ's decisions. TJ: Give Anthony special projects to feed his artistic side. Make mini movies. Let him expolore his creativity. He will grow as an idividual and as an editor and ultimately he will move on to bigger things but you will retain his service longer if he is happy. As the years go by he will look back with respect and remember what you did for him. That is your legacy.
My boy twan can throw down on edit! But after reading comments, I agree with alot of the perspective here. Twan is an artist and has the ability to captivate, where as Tj has a style that has worked for years. Don't move away from that forever because it works, but definitely use Twans work for big reveals or videos that need to showcase not only the cars but also his work. Twan and Tj both have their own style, yes, and together they can build one hell of a video, but it goes off the saying if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I’ve been waiting for an evo build for like 8 years omg…. But I mean of course TJ edits his own videos better. I mean come on, that’s a level of incomparable passion that you just can’t compete with. Love the Ant videos though so far course
Got into it with Forsberg about this before lol. This situation is entirely different though because we've been watching TJ for YEARS and He made an established style for himself. As an editor coming in, you have to take their style and elevate. Forsberg wasn't consistent and didn't have an established style yet, so it was freedom. Ultimately, He clearly wasn't feeling it and is more of a TJ. I do think Anthony's pace is a little slow on this specific one. If you keep TJ's cadence with Anthony's style then it's a perfect blend. I will say I agree with Anthony is that editors will notice the huggggge bump in quality. Calvin nailed it on the head with his feedback. This video was tight! Good idea. This was helpful as a creative and could be for anyone coming in to edit a creator's channel.
I think Calvin is right. A mix of both would be the ideal style. TJ's needed that b roll footage of the car for sure. Working towards symmetry is the goal since us humans find beauty in it.
I liked tj’s because it reminded me of why i started watching the channel. The og way is what made the channel great. Quite honestly and no shade to twan. The new way has made the videos less appealing.
I like this because it’s a healthy bouncing of ideas to make everything better. I like TJ’s style more but some of the transitions on Tuan’s I liked more. I lean toward TJ but maybe a much younger audience member would lean to Tuan’s music choices. Calvin is right about an in between. Take both strengths and make it one. Casey Neistat’s method clearly works and following Teej for so long, I remember watching Casey drop a vid and then TJ drop his similar styled vids. It works, it captivates. It feels “real.” I like the behind the scenes aspect because I love to see how things work so thanks for sharing
TJ Hunt Clips Great Video I definitely agree that with Calvin because TJ style of editing is definitely more enjoyable because it has a slower pace and more banter and I'm glad you guys chose TJs edit for the video
Calvin was speaking so much facts. He perfectly explained everything and I very much prefer Tj’s style of editing which makes considering I’m subscribed to TJ 😂
Tj's edit flows way smoother, but twons edit would keep ppl who have short attention spans still hooked with the clean colors and the B roll shots. All in all, both edits were good to me and there will always be an audience for both types of editing styles
Not sure if anyone else said this but Anthony’s was more visually appealing and cinematic, but for a UA-cam video tj’s was more captivating. I do agree a mix of both would be perfect.
I genuinely just LOVE tj hunts style. That’s not to diss Anthony in his craft because he’s simply better than tj, but we didn’t really start watching tj because he was better. We started watching tj because he was so relatable and when you click on his video it was like your buddy showing you some raw footage of him and his buddy modding something they had no idea how to do (you may ask yourselves if we know what we’re doing) it’s just because tj was and is different style wise and I really think his edit is simple and chill so basically just try a little less to focal in on the editing and be involved in the videos more too because you’re an awesome personality
TJ with the old school way is the absolute best. When yall did the SUPER high end edits that took a long time they weren’t as enjoyable as these raw low edit edits. I wanna feel like one of the boys not like I’m at the cinema
Okay idk if is works at all but blend of both would be perfect. I think teeg editing the beginning and end to give us the OG personal feel that we love, but twan edit the middle portion to spice it up when needed to keep us engaged. But yeah a blend would be perfect
TJ’s is the og style and I think everyone will prefer it because they’ve seen more of it but twans style is very clean and artistic, can definitely tell that’s what he does for a living 🤙
TJ’s editing was more catching and straight to the point. Per cut, watching it was very exciting. Music choice was bonus, facetime call wasn’t too long.
I defenitely prefer TJ’s one, for me the biggest thing is the music, i just love this style and it bring back a lot of memories, that being said I think Anthony can take it to the next level with all his knowledge and his « race to perfection » with all the color grading things. (Sorry if it don’t sound right, im french)
I'm a bigger fan of the vlog style. It gives me something to look forward to in future episodes. You can add a cinematic look to a vlog like LZ and Dut doo
The pace of the was more up beat exciting and as Calvin said twon was more story telling and I smiled more with the phone calls but tj won
Exactly
I like the realism and how personal it feels on TJ edit
💯💯💯
I agree with Calvin's assessment. I liked Toine's intro better, but the montage of the car with no VO was an energy drag, and the reactions lost their punch after the reveal.
TJ's edit hits different but Anthony's is just full on art and you know this is what he does for a living.
I don’t watch because I’m a brain dead toddler who needs constant entertainment. I watch because I enjoy the cars, the details, the fucking around and videos that treat the viewer like an adult.
no doubt, its the choice and style of the builds, mixed with the personality. TJ could pump out raw footage and I would enjoy it by default.
Alternate video title: "We're letting twan go..."
I like when we get a mix of both of your editing styles. I love them both
I miss the old og jt edits 😭 low key
As a filmmaker, Calvin explanation and breakdown was great!
Calvin’s insights were hella impressive. Wasn’t used to him breaking silence this much.
Old school all day. The new fast paced, overly edited, camera spin to start the scene is so annoying and everyone does it. Wanna feel like it’s a casual hang out
😊😊😊😊😢
Hanging out with people we feel like we know is the magic of the channel. Doing s*** with cars is also kind of nice.
Calvin nailed it with his description including his breakdown of the pause. Twan, you’re getting good feedback even though you are very talented.
I say give Calvin a shot at editing cause he’s got a good sense of what an audience is looking for.
TJ's Edit:
Tj's is able to show the viewer what he really cares about, you can feel the enthusiasm, you can feel how much he cares for this project car. hes excited. NO one is going to be able to share that perspective better than no other, then Tj. shows story better. OG edit

Old school TJ always. Makes you feel like you're there with him

I prefer TJs, but I think there is a really good middle ground between the two
i think the edits are not the problem, it’s the pace, personally i don’t want fast paced content especially on creators I want to watch longer per episode.❤
I think to be very clear, TJ’s editing has always felt like we were there with him and excited with him. Anthony’s style makes me feel like a viewer watching a presentation. I love both but TJ’s is the reason I love this channel
Calvin said it best. TJs is very “Casey Neistat” esk and that will always be a home run.
Me personally I like the b roll at the end of the videos. It gave a tj edit style throughout the video and a more professional style towards the end from Anthony
Very interesting video to watch. Love that there are different perspectives that can appreciate each other’s approach to video making!
TJs edit just hits different, OG style of editing 👌🏻
A mix of both is what these videos need!!
Dont get me wrong, Toan's editing and film making is amazing. I liked both, just depends on what they're going after. However, it's clear how easily toan gets upset when being given constructive criticism. Relax, no need to defend yourself. Listen and learn by listening and keep on improving. Great job both of you

I love the pacing of Anthony’s, just flowed a lot better
tjs edit is wholesome & twan was hypebeast mode
i think calvin said it perfectly. I love the pace TJ's video had but me being a cinematographer as well, i would like to see some more " storytelling " or b roll clips and stuff within the faster pace stuff. Either way i like them both and they both work for me, always good to come to that middle ground you guys talked about.
TJs edit is more personal instead of the new age cookie cutter that everyone else is doing
TJ's vlog style with - then a fast pace cut of the "history behind getting the Evo" - then Twan's style of suspense to black out - TJ style facetime calls- then Twan's B-roll is what I think Calvin was trying to say
Poor Toine..😂 buddy is not going to sleep well on this 😂 i like the og vlog style but hands down toine has some skils!
Def preferred TJ's by a lot. Surprised that Anthony was quick to jump in and saying it wasnt like Freddy's or Mat's style videos but its definitely leaning towards Mat style than TJ style
I preferred TJs edit as it gave nostalgia og vibes. But Anthony you are a wizard in the edits and you’re doing an incredible job !

I'm gonna have to vote for Cal's edit!
Love seeing this me and my buddies literally had this type of sit down about their band content Las Calakas it was just such a content builder 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very interesting, it seems so similar to making music.
Both were good, but I agree that a blend of the two would be perfect.
TJ felt more personal like you're there..
Lately it’s been like a sad kind of vibe stories. It reminded me of when I first started watched before the expensive cars. Before the r8 vibes
Damn Cal hit the nail on the head with his analysis. TJ’s transition speed and jump cuts matched with Twans b-roll would be perfect
Real OG’s will love both 🫡. I do like twons more just because of the cinematic feeling when introducing the car 😮💨
Anthony’s style is suite for longer format but for youtube, where attention span matters, Tj’s keeps you more engaged.
I genuinely liked TJs more, the way it was set up was just perfect!
Dude when I heard the music it brought back memories from coming home in 6th grade watching tj hunt. (I’m 22)
Both versions were good. I like the pace of TJ’s but I gotta give Anthony props on his artistic talent. A mix of both is the perfect blend for me.
I had the pleasure of meeting Twan at a golf tourney earlier this year. We spent most of the time chatting about his cinematography and the work he has done on the channel. Give me those Acosta visuals all day every day!
Loved the layout of Tj's but like twons style. Looked back at the video released and really enjoyed how you combined and added some things.
Above all, I actually appreciate Calvin's critique.
I agree with Calvin. With a combination of both meeting in the middle would be the best.
its videos like this that make me happy to be subbed to clips
Ooo a dandelion! Must be the last one of the sheason 😂
I enjoyed this banter.
I like TJ’s but i respect the more cinematic version
Tjs feels more personal like an actual vlog!
Both of your videos was fucking good ya still killing it
I liked TJs edits better overall, but as a photographer, I appreciate Anthony’s, shots of the car before going into tj talking about it, plus the talking over the sea of cars was nice as well
I think they should edit different videos, because to watch the same video consecutively it impacts your judgement. If you watch Anthony's clip first, maybe the reaction would have differ. Think the second time around it became redundant. But both edits were top notch!👌👌
Great work guys!
Love this BTS clip, learning a lot
I think Anthony’s style suits the epic brand new car builds or final product reveal, rollers. Tjs style for most content.
This was really cool. Also got to see a side of Calvin I’ve never seen. Very analytical and intellectual.
I’ve been waiting for an evo build for like 8 years omg…. But I mean of course TJ edits his own videos better. I mean come on, that’s a level of incomparable passion that you just can’t compete with. Love the Ant videos though so far course
And many of us s watched TJ edits for years! We have a soft spot for it for sure

I think the old school with a little bit new school thrown in definitely form the content to the next step.
Tj’s is the way to go it’s the reason I have watched him from paintball to cars but I learned to just keep moving forward
TJ’s is the og style and I think everyone will prefer it because they’ve seen more of it but twans style is very clean and artistic, can definitely tell that’s what he does for a living 🤙
This is so cool to see !!!
Love gettin personal with TJ :), new school edit was a bit fast paced for me but would of made a epic start to a crowded content video.
I’m gonna watch the content either way 😂😂
TJ’s editing was more catching and straight to the point.
Kinda funny you two are so young and yet there is still an old school vs new school thing goin on. Well done! Still need more r34 tho pleaseeeeeee
I'm a bigger fan of the vlog style. It gives me something to look forward to in future episodes. You can add a cinematic look to a vlog like LZ and Dut doo
