Good grief, finally an easy way to make an eye. i knew there had to be a simpler way to make eyes than what I have seen. Admittedly, I can't sew a stitch so I need something easy! Many thanks for your video.
Thank you thank you! Making a softie for my niece who has sensory processing issues and I wanted to stay away from safety eyes. This method was PERFECT!!
Thank you so much for posting this. I knew there had to be an easier way than embroidering the eyes. (I'm no good at that) and I just think the safety eyes could be chewed off. But a knot - I think I can do this - now it's just a matter of figuring out how big/small to make them but that the easier part.
I am making my first knitted toy and wasn’t sure how to make the eyes. This is a simple technique that give great results. Thank you for this video. I have added it to my knitting playlist here on UA-cam so that I can go back to it again if I need to.
I can't thank you enough! This is the simpler way to make the eye! The only drawback i can see is that you have to deal with the ends at the back, but all in all it's amazing!
I just made my first amigururi project today and I didn't have anything to use as eyes, but I did have some black wool! This worked incredibly well, thank you so much for sharing this!
wow that is so perfect. I Love making critters but every time I get to the eyes I cringe and worry how to make it simple and look good. This is a GREAT technique, Thank you!
Thank you for this video. It's great for toys that are too small for a plastic safety eyes. I've had problems with my french knots pulling through the stitching, this is a great and easy alternative.
This is insanely simple and clever. Thank you very much. I typically embroid and have just started crochet and eyes are a struggle for me. I was about to try and figure out how to do french knots on the crochet but this is great!
I've been looking for an eaier alternative to French knots since I'm not much of a sewer. This wooks fantastically and it is not too complicated. Thanks!
This is bloomin marvellous!!? Thankyou! I've done every other way of doing eyes on felt, crochet, fabric etc plushies, but I've NEVER seen this neat trick with how you made that knot! Amazing. What I personally am on a mission for is how to SECURE the eyes once the plush is stuffed. SOMETIMES you CAN position MOUTH & eyes before stuffing but 98% of the time I'd rather see it once stuffed so I can choose freely how I want the face to look, but usually use safety eyes without the snap back as once stuffed obviously I can't do that part, then I have some special glue I out in the exact spot the safety is going in & voila .. they're never coming out hehe. But recently more & more little projects are best with hand sewn features & I just don't get how you secure what you've sewn. Sometimes , like you said, you can conceal the tie off so that's fine. But I'm working on a felt bear & there's NO place to conceal ... hmm unless I conceal it under its little hat (haha) but I'm still deciding if I want the hat to be sewn on or not. Oh well, I'll see how it goes. Thankyou SOOO much for this "mock" French knot! It's just a handy thing in general to know if you're a fibre crafts woman 🙏👍🐻🐰🐹
Thank you for this wow what a great idea . What I did was make an adorable cat and can't believe that I sewed on the head before I put the yes omg DUH!!! I was lost for what to do then I saw your video, PROBLEM SOLVED ♥♥♥♥♥♥ THANK YOU!!!
@@PookieDoodleCrafts I have struggled for years with embroidering the eyes on toys for my littlest grandbabies - this method is perfect and so much simpler. Thanks again!
Genius!! Thanks so much! Am making some baby toys and do not trust the "safety" eyes, wanted something with some texture and durability and this is perfect and so simple!
I can't find the pattern I'm afraid AL T but did find this very similar one on Ravelry which looks cute and is free. www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wee-bunny-rabbit-2 hope it helps :)
@@PookieDoodleCrafts I'm just new to amigurumi and I have been trying to embroider faces but everything looks absolutely terrible I'm hoping this tutorial will help. What about animal noses do you have a good tutorial for that
@@heatherhicks4005 I’m sure with practice you will get better. I have some monstrosities even now 😉 For a nose I start with a horizontal line for the top, then embroider another line slightly shorter underneath, keep going till it’s a little upside down triangle. Then add an upside down Y for the mouth.
Can I no wat type of needle it was,. Actually I have normal needle in that needle thread was not getting so how I can do this plz say me.wer I leave this type of needle are not there
Hi January, What I would do is a long stitch running from side to side where you want the mouth to be then just a tiny bit below, in the middle bring your needle out and over the thread of the stitch (pulling it down into a smile), then back down in the same hole. Basically catching the "smile" under a tiny stitch. Does that make sense??
Hi Krish ARMY, I either bring the thread in at the neck or where the ears might be sew on, anywhere that the end can be hidden away under something else and also weave it in and out of the stuffing so that if it is black it doesn't show through a white/light yarn. Hope that helps.
Glen I either weave the ends in and out the stuffing or if you haven't yet sewn on other bits like ears, fasten off the black there, then sew ears over it to hide it. Another option is to do the features before sewing a head on, you can then draw down the ends into the neck. Hope that helps. 😊
Thank you very very much! I was going crazy for not finding safety eyes where I live and you have just saved me
Really glad to have helped :)
