The drinking age in Ireland is 18 so, while it's still illegal for the girls to drink, it's more like a 19- or 20-year-old drinking in the States - illegal, but not nearly as socially taboo as an American 16-year-old drinking.
The last shot of the group against the blackboard with the musical staff is to mimic the shot of the gang in ‘The Usual Suspects’ against the height measuring board.
This episode is a very obvious parody of ‘dead poets society’ one of my favourite films of all time so I loved this combination of one of my fav shows and fav films 🥰
I like the parody in Community, where the students were asked to stand on their desks, but they were poor quality desks that couldn't take their weight.
A funny side note is that Ireland has a strong tradition of families having a statue of The Child of Prague, often set in their gardens, or on outside window sills; he is supposed to bring good weather and protect the home. Also, there is a tradition of giving a statue as a wedding present and it is a sign of good luck when the head gets knocked off.
Fun fact: the actress who plays Sister Michael always wears the head covering because she dyed her hair for another role, which would be out of character for a nun.

I’m glad the PE scene was cut from this, jenny’s “late for school”. Gives me the effing ick 😂
I might be forgetting, but can you remind me what happened in this scene? I don't remember it at all!
@@danis4187 the teacher takes them to the sports field and asks them to call out something the dislike before hitting a ball with a hockey stick.
@@mral8145 OH GOD yes i remember now, that was so cringe hahaha

I love Claire’s poem “someone has written about how much they love their English class, in a transparent attempt to suck up to their teacher” ;)

_My So-Called Life_ also did a parody of _Dead Poets Society,_ except they used a substitute teacher, but a similar letdown at the end.

Yeah you stick him under a bush to get good weather the next day ;)

💖💖 great reaction again
This episode is partly a great homage to the film 'Dead Poets Society' with Robin Williams. You should definitely watch it if you have the chance.
I guess the statues are cheap, but the idea is if they break it’s not the end of the world ;)
I love this show too!
I need more Young Royals From u😭😭😭
It’s not getting enough views I don’t know if I wanna waste time editing some thing that people aren’t watching.
