Jack Osbourne grew up in the spotlight. His family’s hit show, The Osbournes, became MTV’s most-watched series of all time in its first season.
But the pressure of fame primed teenage Jack for a downward spiral. At the age of just 17, he was forced to navigate a turbulent adolescence overshadowed by public scrutiny, addiction, and a quest for normalcy amidst chaos.
This candid recount of early sobriety, the struggle with identity, and the eventual embrace of responsibility and fatherhood not only challenges our perceptions of celebrity but also highlights the resilience of the human spirit in the face of overwhelming odds.

About Jack Osbourne:
Jack Osbourne is well known for participating in reality TV shows with his celebrity family, like The Osbournes and Ozzy and Jack’s World Tour. Jack has also overcome and dealt with great difficulties in his life, such as dyslexia, drug addiction, an MS diagnosis, depression, various medical scares in his family, and more. His ability to bounce back from these challenges has served as inspiration for others undergoing difficulties in life. Jack uses his platform to advocate for people living with MS.
Never did I imagine Jack Osbourne would become so inspirational
Please elaborate.
He never had to work or face any of the real challenges most people do. He has everything to live for, more than most people believe. He had a support group with resources that intervened and were all too aware of drugs, had experience with addiction and didn't judge him.
He stopped being a junky and started enjoying the very comfortable life he was born into.
So... please elaborate.
It was sad watching that household. So glad he’s become an adult capable of self-reflection. I wish him well.
Seems like an intelligent and good person. ANYONE can get addicted to opiates. They're highly, highly addictive.
Fame is so unhealthy for children. Look how many child stars have had issues in adulthood.
Nepo babies
Tbh, I feel like more people deal with this problem in adolescence and their 20s than do not, but it's always very public when a famous child deals with it.
Imagine you have a kid, immediately put him on a tour bus and infront of cameras for the world to see, the kid develops addictions and has suicidal tendencies, then you tell them what a disappointment they are to the family. That's some parenting.
No shit.
it's so good to hear from him personally and to know that he is going through his life with ease :)
You look great Jack! I’m sorry this happened to you and that we were all a part of it but so happy you’re doing well.
How are such parents not totally ashamed? What was the marketing plan here? To have a kid commit suicide live on a TV show? It's beyond to see so many "parents' selling their kids on social media, and that's the new normal... It's child prostitution and should be punished as such. (Personally, whenever I stumble on such a video on any social media I immediately block the channel)
Sharon Osbourne is shameless. She prostituted her own family for 💰
Anonymity is underrated... Notoriety has its very own dark consequences as seeking fane will more often than not turn into infamy.
very well said 👏🏾 criminals understand this idea Very Well LoL. what i wrestle with understanding is the "suicidal ideation" even the anonymous wouldnt necessarily prefer to perish without some level of infamy (based on human behaviour on the daily)
Happy he is here.
You probably helped somebody out there by making that video.
Bad parents, they were responsible for you when you were a minor, but ambition, money, and fame put you in a place that is not good for any child. I'm glad you're better now, and that you can reverse the treatment with your children, taking care of them as you should.
Jack was always the smart one
Jack is looking great.
Being rich and a president of a business does wonders for the complexion.

Watching this video I couldn't help thinking "and what about his sister? Is she fine today?"
Wow, he is very clear, well spoken, truly knows himself and the diversity he went through actually serves him well!
If you read about addiction and what are its usual psychological causes, it is clear what happened in this family. People who get so addicted were usually neglected and abandoned in their early childhood (they don't even remember it). The addiction also appears in families which have problems with solving problems. When an issue arises, they escalate it, instead of resolving it. And those parents who created the problem in the first place are so irresponsible to blame their kid for everything, saying "we are so disappointed with you" instead of looking in the mirror and realizing it's them, they caused it because they are bad parents, the kid only shows the symptoms of family not working properly. Best of luck to him! Hope he fixes parenting mistakes in the next generation!
I cannot even envy your childhood after listening to this😮😮
their "reality show" was an 'eye-opener' + 1 of the many things we should remember never to do is _envy others :)
Beautiful Jack. I resonate with your share. So much respect
Great video. I really enjoyed that.
Proud of you good job and keep love above all ❤️☀️🌙
He turned out alright and he looks good!... I never would have guessed it. Congrats to tha man.
The fact that he lucked out and survived it all and is now a happy father is proof that the universe unfolds exactly as it should? What?
What about all the people who die from drug overdoses or get cancer or are in car accidents? Was that how the universe was supposed to unfold as well?
Exactly what I thought. He was also born male and rich, so that’s a huge advantage right from the start.
@kasondaleigh Lol, yeah. Boy the universe has a tendency to work out for people whose net worth is in the hundreds of millions. What a doofus.
He never asked to be famous or wealthy. He was born into it, and there's nothing he could have done about that. That's all because of his father. He's just explaining his story because someone asked him.
@SecretAgentBartFargo So? He still shouldn't be saying that the universe unfolds the way it's supposed to. He got lucky.
Proud of you Jack ❤️
Sounds like a lovely guy now
nothing but love Jack
Sounds like child abuse to me.
Nowadays it is, back then times were different and people just accepted the bullshit.
Legend
Thank you 🙏.
Glad he is happy with his children.
“Stole”. It sure did give him a whole career.
How your parents stole your childhood.
Release your blame, release your shame.

Getting famous when you earn it and have been working for it for a long time has a chance of going well. Being a kid in front of camera to be laughed at by millions and being dumb enough to not understand that's what you are will always go bad.
This is me, I agree :(
Yes I'm sure it was reality TV that did it 😅
Lucky to have a financial safety net
That show was a great deterrent from doing drugs.
Right! Watching Ozzie slur every word really was a great PSA.
Impressive… 😊
Back in the 90s
I was in a famous tv show
Sorry just got reminded of Bojack Horseman
It wasn't the 90s and he never said it was.
@@mrdeatheli Google Bojack Horseman
Hey, better than growing up in state custody or worse foster care. You'll be alright Jack boy!
Did this channel get bought out by new management?
It did change vibes recently, like it lowered the bar.
yeah I like this
That is what TV was invented for.
he used to hang out with Courtney love
It was such a terrible time to be a teenager.
Ah, the timeless pathos of teens
Money, fame, babes, booze, drugs: horrible
Congrats to surviving these Times 🕴
A terrible story with a, (so far) happy continuation. Best of luck to you, man....
300 to 400 mg of Oxycontin and a bottle of Jack Daniels.. crazy tolerance
Really not that uncommon in the field.

Love Ozzy, never watched the show so could not have cared less who his family is.
Jack wasn’t blessed with his dads extra alcohol consumption DNA lol 🧬
The fame is too much... but i think it can be healthy to have unlimited freedom as a kid. I had that sort of freedom, by the time i was 18, i was over partying. A lot of the "good" kids i went to school with have since ODd or worse.
Look what it's done to poor Jazz Jennings. He'll never have a normal life, he'll never have a fulfilling sex life. His parents and the tv company should be behind bars for what they've done to him.
Is this sarcasm?
@@MainSequence1
Why would you say that?
@@ellie698 You say, "poor Jazz", and "what they've done", suggesting you care, but if you care, shoud you not be saying "she", and "her"?
@@MainSequence1
Absolutely not. Jazz was a little boy when he maybe was playing around with "feminine" things
His parents took him down this road and got TV involved. Muchausens by proxy combined with fame and wealth.
He should have been allowed to grow up normally.
@@ellie698 aren't the other 2 sons "normal"? Why would the parents do different with them?
In a world where so many people are neglected and children or are so poor, they die of starvation or lack of medicine, I have zero sympathy for the rich and/or famous.
Because money forms a bubble against ALL things negative in life... Right. You should really think about what empathy means and broaden your perspective about life in general. Nothing is so simple.
@@Silverspy97 money solves most problems.
@@volkoff6357 most... Again, quit thinking your world view is reality. Life is never so simply defined. Things aren't as black and white as you want to make them. Jack Osborne had lived a life you've never even considered or imagined. You judge purely from the perspective of him having money and fame, as if that is his only defining quality as a human. Open your mind a little.
And he had a choice in taking part of this during his childhood, right? No, he didn’t. Nonetheless, he took accountability for himself starting at 17. People all over the world go through pain as it’s simply post of the human experience. It will look different for everyone of us. To have true empathy be for him we can have empathy for all others.
I thought Jack had MS.
I heard the same thing years ago. But I'm glad to know that he is fine.
Apparently. And it's incurable.
But there is a very effective treatment that only wealthy people can afford. I presume he's had that.

It's not about money. You're missing the point of all of this.
"How growing up with unlimited money gave me a platform to complain about growing up rich."
Being rich isn't really the issue, it's fame.
that's not what i heard from him. however, i also find that_odd
@@milliamp sounds like when folks blame "life" as the source of their problems/misfortunes 😐it's more like what simple-minded humans perceive "fame" to be and how they treat others Because of it 🤑
Yeah, so that happened. Move on.
Which is what seems to have happened, by the way, Mr. Company President.
@@SolaceEasy cry me a river
Boo hoo and BLAME YOUR PARENTS FOR SUBJECTING YOU TO THAT, not reality TV.
And what about the viewers? They literally buy the reality TV shows and the child abuse. Without the public asking for more, no corrupt parents will get an incentive to prostitute their children and be rewarded for it instead of jailed.

Meh. Millionaire problems.
Tell that to poor people with drug addiction. Tell them it's a millionaire problem
I love how these fucking celebrities make it seem like there "stardom" is also their Achilles' heel, give me a fucking break. Try living in the real world for a day with real problems
Let me guess, a couple of rich spoiled kids playing victim. Is that about right?
Whatever Jake, you're lucky you come from money.
Such a bullshit hard luck story.
