I have been doing this type of drawing for years, I had no idea that it had a name or that others where doing it. So nice to see others works.

After watching so many of your entangle vids I feel now that I am confident to incorporate them in a lot of drawings I do. In fact, while I was at the geal linn my teacher asked everyone to draw out some letters that she would then stick up in a specific order to spell machaire raghtai. I used some zectangles as the filler for my bubble writing and when ever everyone saw it I pretty much became artist of the class and any time my teacher needed a little title drawn up she would ask me to do it

This Q and A was interesting. My college students got a lot of good info that helped them get started on their Zentangle Portrait they are assigned for their final art project for this semester. Do more like this for all of to learn from your experience!

My first experience with zentangle whas when I was studying how to be a teacher we had an introduction to art class. The lector always used to say just copy a patter over and over. Someone in the class asked what patterns will be best to use. The answer was the writing patterns you learned when you first started to learn how to write in GrR (Kindergarten). So I used them and only them to creat a "cowfish". The assignment was to combine a land animal and see creature using line art. And that is something I do with my Gr1 four times in the year so that they can see their own progress. (I give them the outline of my original catfish and they fill it up). So I think children can learn to do zentangle as soon as they learn to write or sooner. Like you said depends on the child.

Someone asked blending tips for colored pencil. They suggested oil for oil painting. There are some cheaper other solutions. You can use Baby oil. Dip a q-tip in baby oil and rub onto colored area after you get all your colors down. Always start from light colors then to dark so you don't get a muddy color.
Also you can use mineral spirits in the same way as the baby oil.
With the baby oil you need to be careful so you don't put too much oil on your page. And I suggest a different q-tip for the different color groups.

Great as usual, lol. My question is how do you decide to color or not to color? I'm rarely satisfied when I use color, but my choices are not great.
Just and FYI for comment readers, I tangled on ceramic Christmas ornaments, they really ate up my micron pen tips and I used a black sharpie (usually never use those because of bleed through), when I sprayed an ornament with a sealant the sharpie ink changed to a purple color.

Tiffany first your work is amazing...you are the best zetangler I have ever seen. My question did you start on smaller pieces of paper when you first started and is there a special kind of paper that works better, then others? Or would you recommend a tag or index cards to start out with at first? I love the idea using color in your designs.....thanks. Judy again beautiful!!!!!!!!

Hi it is me again! I have one question. I am using uni pin fine line pens because they are ten rand (0.89 dollar) cheaper than the Pigma Micron pens. Now is it like that in America also like that and are they good pens to use? They work good for me but since I haven't used any other kind I just wanted to make sure.

I buy 3 sets every 3-4 months. They aren't all dry at that point but the ones I use the most are dry. This probably is not typical but I draw A LOT...even more than what I make videos for.
